The Lardera website is well-designed and loaded with information; it was also easy to place an order. Packing and shipment occurred quickly, and the coffees arrived at my apartment building without any issues whatsoever.
The coffees I have tried from Lardera are good, perhaps not as clear or nuanced as from the better-known, more expensive shops, but there is good value here.

Excellent tasting coffee that delivers on their low acidity claim. Nice selection, fast shipping, fair pricing.

Perhaps my taste buds lack sophistication...or perhaps folk who PAY MORE for things feel the need to justify that by heaping praise on the superiority of the item...but these coffees taste not one bit better than the ones i buy at the local supermarket.. for far less than these 'designer coffees.' I hope the claims of 'sustainability' are real at least.
The ordering & delivery was speedy and without hitch.

Title: Misleading Subscription, Terrible Coffee, No Real Customer Support

I ordered what was advertised as a $13 sample variety pack from Lardera Coffee Roasters. Nowhere during checkout was it made clear that this initiated a recurring monthly subscription. I only discovered the ongoing charge by checking my PayPal account.

I canceled the subscription through PayPal right away. When I tried to contact Lardera directly, their “online help” form refused to submit my complaint, and there was no functional way to speak to a real person. No confirmation of cancellation, no email, nothing.

PayPal eventually refunded my money — thankfully. But the sample pack still showed up. I tried one of the coffees, supposedly from Costa Rica’s Tarrazu region. It was harsh, bitter, and undrinkable. A very poor roast.

This feels like a low-level scam — not expensive per person, but clearly designed to pull small charges from many people using deceptive marketing and minimal accountability.

Avoid this company. The product is poor and the business practices are shady at best.

Lardera promised free coffee samples for a small shipping fee. I paid the fee and was apparently sent 2 different coffee samples. When the order was marked delivered and I did not receive the product, I contacted customer service, and they checked with the delivery company, who still claimed it was delivered. I looked all around for the package again and checked at the neighbors' houses, but still didn't find it. Upon reaching out to Lardera once more, they informed me that they would not be sending a replacement or refund. They just lost my business over a couple samples...shame.

*Update*
Lardera has replied that I did not contact them until about 20 days after the package was delivered, but that is incorrect. I have email proof that I reached out to them the day after I received their confirmation and they even responded to me that same day.

A good selection of coffees, a good experience to try different varieties, processes and roasting levels

Lardera Coffee is my go to coffee roaster. The coffee quality is always tops notch, the flavor profiles are always spot on and they have some uniquely processed coffee that is hard to find sometimes. I am a big fan and often order coffee from them and have never been disappointed !!!

Lardera is an excellent coffee roastery. I have tried all their beans and am a big fan of all of them. And I’m a picky coffee drinker. They are fast with customer service, too.

I ordered 2 6-ounce bags, but I got 1 6 ounce and 1 2 ounce. When I emailed them about the matter with pictures this is what I got for a reply.

Our goal is to provide you with the freshest product possible. Sometimes, this means filling larger sizes with small pouches.

Please do keep in mind we do not yet make an 18oz/16oz pouch for our coffee, so these items will always be filled with smaller pouches. This helps keep your coffee fresher longer, too!

There were not 6 ounces in that 2-ounce bag. Plus, they did not refund the difference. so, I paid the price of a 6-ounce for a 2-ounce... And to be honest the coffee is not ALL THAT!!

BUYER BEWARE!!

I had never before used a hand-grinder to prepare coffee, but for my birthday, I decided to give it a go and order the Chestnut C2 Max Grinder.

It was a bit of a learning curve for me, but Lardera’s Customer Service team provided A+ assistance! They seriously went above and beyond to answer my questions and walk me through the process of assembly and fine-tuning the grind. I also enjoyed the “Castillo Washed” beans I tried.

Will definitely shop from them again. Thanks, Lardera!

It was discovery of a year! Being a coffee connoisseur, I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and nuances Lardera had to offer. Many varieties and detailed explanation of coffee origin, processing, roasting. Very easy to use their website and to place an order. I bought samples to try and decide which variety I liked to brew. Have to mention that packaging and shipment rate were great, no problems with my order. Highly recommended!

Again this company is a total scam, ordered six samples of (different )varieties.They were all very stale and all the same with fake dates printed on stale garbage coffee that smelled like cardboard! Tried to return to them and they refused to accept any return for refund.I worked as an office coffee salesman for 3 years and roasted coffee by hand with Alpine coffee. And they told me I don’t know what good coffee is ! L OL!,,

Great coffee, only complaint is that sometimes coffee goes out of stock and there's no ETA listing when it will be next available.

Purchased a Chestnut C2 Max Grinder 4/12/23. Worked great for about 3 weeks. Went to adjust the type of grind I wanted and it literally fell apart. No amount of trying to put in back together worked. Now I cannot even contact this company for a replacement.
Bad company to do business with.

Lardera is offering the Wilfa coffeemaker from Norway, one of the most elegant designs you will find on the market. The Lardera staff handled a small hiccup at the outset with aplomb. The machines on/off switch is hidden underneath, and, without embarrassing me, they shared the "secret." ;) Makes great coffee.

Unlike the rest of the online commerse industry, this company still charges you shipping on RETURNS.
Buyer beware.
Don't buy from them u less you are absolutely positively certain you will keep their item.
UNACCEPTABLE.

This coffee is amazing and direct-trade. Each variety is unique and delicious. You can start by buying the small sample-size bags; I recommend trying all of them!
