I received a replacement bike lock for a defective lock under warranty.
I did not expect a new lock being sent which was really awesome.
I have always used Kryptonite locks for my bike for years and can attest to their quality products and service.

I purchased a New York Lock M18-WL, in February 2026 but come April the key is already jamming, or failing to fully insert into lock barrel so I can’t rely on this expensive product to actually serve its basic purpose! The lock is 60 days old and it’s never been left outside! Key Number: PP 9804

Hey, I wanted to share a quick real-world experience, I had bought my first E bike and was on my very first ride when I was hit by a hit-and-run driver my kryptonite lock flew off the bike rack and ended up getting run over by cars in the opposite lane. It was banged up but it still worked, and the good folks and kryptonite replaced so I wouldn’t have to have a banged up lock ! And I thank them very much , and to everyone at the kryptonite team in Canton, Massachusetts. You’re the best and so your locks.

Had this D-lock 6 weeks before all the problems, hard to unlock can't get key out often, will not purchase from this company I thought had a great rep!!, 😔

Kryptonite kindly sent me a replacement lock after my key snapped off in my lock.
Sadly unable to provide a refund for the cost of removing the lock as I couldn't provide photos of the cut lock but they gave me the benefit of the doubt on the replacement lock which I'm grateful for
Small criticisms:
1. There is no clear way of raising this kind of request on the kryptonite website so I had to raise it under warranty issues
2. Due to this lack of clear pathway, and the fact that it took them about a month to get back to me, I threw away the cut lock on the assumption nothing was going to happen. Obviously, should have taken a picture but a month is ages in customer service terms.

The padlock is amazing. Unfortunately, I think I received one with a minor defect, so after a few months of heavy use, it broke. However, customer support helped me out and we resolved the issue. In my opinion, they are the best.

Kryptonite has an absolutely incredible customer service team!

A thief attempted to steal my scooter, but I showed up just in time to catch him in the act. Unfortunately, he had already sliced through my Kryptonite New York U-Lock (unfortunatly every lock can be broken with the right tools). However, thanks to the double-bolt design, even after slicing it, he simply couldn't pull it free. The lock did exactly what it was supposed to do and kept my scooter right where it belonged.

Since the lock had proven itself so well, I wanted to replace it with the exact same model. It's a bit on the pricier side, so I decided to shoot my shot and reach out to Kryptonite directly, explaining my situation and asking whether they might consider sending me a free replacement.

I was completely blown away by the response I got. They acknowledged that don't typically replace locks damaged during theft attempts, but given my particular situation and the fact that the lock had so effectively prevented the theft, they said they'd love to send me a one-time replacement out of goodwill, to help keep my scooter safe.

I just received a brand new lock, purely out of the kindness of their hearts. How incredible is that?! A massive thank you to Oleh and the entire Kryptonite customer service team for empathizing with my situation and going above and beyond by making an exception to their usual policy. I cannot appreciate it enough!!!

Spent decent amount of two locks last year. Both jamming even when oiled. My wife has the same problem. Spent 45 minutes trying to open my lock and a guy walking his dogs starts chatting to me and says the exact same thing has happened to him. Binned the lock. Have nearly always used kryptonite locks in the past, totally lost faith in them

Great customer service regarding warranty claims

I have bought Kryptonite locks for a long time now and recommend them. However, this review is based on my contacting Kryptonite customer support over a failed lock. After sending them a message including the required photos, I was contacted next day by Oleh, Customer Services. After checking I had tried possible solutions, he arranged a replacement. It arrived from the USA to here in the UK in four days, less than a week from me raising the warranty issue.

This is absolutely the best 5* customer service I could expect and fully justifies both my own purchases and the recommendations I've made to many other cyclists.

When I wrote to Kryptonite about small problem with my lock, I was hoping they could sell me a replacement part. Not only did they reply quickly and helpfully, but they offered to send me an entirely new lock, free of charge! I did not expect this, and it surpassed all my expectations.

I've had bad experiences with other companies who wiggled their way out of warranty coverage. But this was NOT the case with Kryptonite. What a great experience! What a super company. (I would also recommend their instructional videos - which are very clear).
