This is a very positive review. I bought a house and installed one of those fancy showers which has a wand, the rain showerhead on top and the three heads on the side for massaging etc. This was over 15 years ago. Of course I have no paperwork. The shower started to leak, drip drip drip. The plumber said that the cartridge needed to be repaired. Unfortunately this had been discontinued when just looking online. I called call Kohler, and yes there was a little bit of a weight maybe 5 to 10 minutes. But then I received excellent service. First time from Tami the second time from Sandra. Both had worked for the company for many many years. That alone says something although it had been discontinued they have the parts and sent them to me at no charge in fact it was Fedex! I got it within three days! This is amazing service. Everyone should realize this, and trust Kohlerwhen they buy it for their lifetime warranty!

No support for returning sink
I purchased a product (cast iron sink) from Kohler online. Contractor says it will not work for my kitchen cabinet. Kohler approved return, but customer has to arrange for shipping it back and paying for shipping.
They provided me with phone number for FEDEX who delivered it and I am getting quoted $1,900 to ship it back.
After 5 separate phone calls to customer service and signing up for a FEDEX account, I have not received any assistance in shipping a $1,100 sink back to Kohler.
Do Not Purchase via Kohler On-LIne
Follow up to original post. Koehler finally responded and arranged for shipping product back at no cost.
Took a while but they came through. I would still recommend Kohler but will buy locally from now on.
New Toilet Failed While On It
I moved into a new accessible unit retrofitted for my disability. Kohler sent the wrong toilet, and then their helpline advised my contractor to reuse parts from another toilet that were not safe to use in the correct toilet. As soon as I moved in, the toilet failed while I was using it, and it necessitated emergency plumbing help in the middle of the night to avoid flooding the building.
It may take weeks to get the correct part, and with my disability in a small unit/building, I have no safe toileting options until it is fixed. They are dishonest and endanger everyone when they lie about product safety.

I have purchased thousandssss of dollars buying wide range of Kohler products 2-3 years ago. The touchless kitchen faucet has broken down, the water flow is non existent and the paint has chipped off. Called the customer service for the past month and a half multiple times. They only replacing the “defective” valve and not the entire faucet. Paint is not part of the warranty, they said! The messed up thing is that they don’t even have the defective part replacement to send me.
The customer representative actually told me “one should consider things before purchasing “ which is another way of saying buyer be ware!!

I bought a new Kohler toilet which was installed as a part of my bathroom renovation. After about the second month the valve intermittently stopped filling the tank till it finally stopped altogether. I called Kohler and made me jump through a paper chase that makes it to get relief for the defect. I finally gave up and replaced the valve at my expense. They have no customer service so you need to discuss your options with the retailer prior to purchase if you decide to replace them with a Kohler. I need to replace three more units and will not be getting a Kohler in the future.

In my well over half a century as a customer I have NEVER had such incredible customer service as with Kohler. I had issues over a period of time with a very pricey and stunning Artifacts faucet and considering how often kitchen faucets are used it was well worth 4 x the price.

I had a spray head on a Fawcett that I've enjoyed for 5 years partially 'go bad' and they replaced it immediately due to having a lifetime warranty. Their response was immediate and very professional.

Anthem System Not Worth the Hefty Price
I brought a very expensive Anthem shower system. 6 Port valve, body sprays, rain shower, the whole nine yards. It’s a massive disappointment. Low, wimpy, water pressure, clunky hard to follow user interface. I spent thousands.The tech from Kohler, at the end of the day, just said water pressure was a subjective experience. Subjectively I think it should be better than the worst experience you ever have in a public shower. When I get back from my local big box hardware store with my new off the shelf system, rip out the Kohler stuff and retile the shower. I’ll be out more than $15k, but I’ll have a controllable shower. An expensive experiment. Color me oversold.

What has happened to Kohler?
What has happened to Kohler? I bought two toilets from them, from the Memoirs line. The first one came with a bowl with a big, roughly inch-square manufacturing flaw in the glazed porcelain, on the outside near the top edge of the bowl, right in front. Is there no quality control at all? How did they miss this? Had to return the bowl and wait like six weeks for a new one. Then the toilet doesn't flush properly, but I'll live with it, since I can just hold the flush handle down longer and let more water into the bowl that way, but still. The second toilet looks good but leaked right from the start. I called Kohler, they diagnosed the problem, sent me a replacement kit for I forget what the name of the assembly is. It's on the left side in the tank. I had to pay for a plumber to come switch out the old part and install the new one. It worked for half a day, then started leaking again, this time from the flush valve assembly, which is everything else inside the tank that wasn't replaced before. Called Kohler again, they mailed me a replacement kit. Assured me that it's very easy to replace on my own, won't need to hire a plumber. Kit arrives, missing FOUR PARTS. Also, the process will be challenging for a non-plumber, not easy. I have to remove the whole tank and replace gaskets and other things, then lift the tank back on and try to hook it all up again. I am so angry and fed up! Gave two stars only because the toilet design is beautiful, but quality is so low it's shocking.
UPDATE: I'm updating this review on 4/6/2025. It turns out I didn't need to use all the parts in the kit Kohler sent me, and I did eventually fix the leak without having to hire a plumber. But it took three calls to customer service to get to where it was fixed. First they had me replace a gasket. Didn't work, so then they had me replace the upper part of the flush assembly. Didn't work, so then they had me replace the lower part of the flush assembly. That did the trick and no more leak. But next, while this was going on, a Kohler shower head I've only been using for a month sprang a leak from the ball joint at the top, and Kohler is mailing me a new shower head to replace it. Such shoddy products. I have to say, Kohler's customer service department is fantastic. I've called many times. Each time, I was on hold for a very short amount of time. Every person I spoke with seemed to be in the U.S. and they were all very knowledgeable and really nice. I always felt like they sincerely wanted to help me out, and they did. The great customer service is the only thing that keeps me from hating Kohler entirely. At least they're doing all they can to make it right after the fact.
My father
My father, in his eighties, purchased a Kohler kitchen faucet and asked me to install it. Had no problem with that because I have worked with their products for 35 years and have never had any big issues. Where he got the faucet is anyones guess. They said it was an open box but turned out to be used. And there were missing parts as well as a bad aerator. Bought the aerator but missing parts had to be bought with the touchless unit as a whole. Needless to say he couldn't afford that much and wanted to give up. I wrote an email to Kohler explaining my issue on the off chance they may have the 2 fittings I needed without the the unit (which I had and it was new). A few days later I unexpectedly recieved a package. I opened it to find the whole unit with the 2 fittings I needed. I was blown away. I have never had anything like that happen before and am extremely grateful for this kind act. Whoever was involved needs a large raise and to feel lucky they work for a company that could not be any better. Thank you Kohler
Shower head looks good but fails
Converge shower head, purchased 6 years ago, failed within one year and was replaced under warranty. The second one has failed in less than 5 years. The box says "lifetime limited warranty". It seems that the lifetime is only one year. This model is no longer available. Not surprising.

Kohler toilet w/ piston water flush 2 step doesn't flush even at the 1st step, let alone at holding the handle down for the 2nd step. We woke up to the toilet leaking water into the bowl. The fluid master was set correctly for water height. Kohler needs to bring back the flapper. The glaze was excellent. These toilets are made in China and imported. The toilet lid is cheap thin flimsy and scratches by merely setting anything on it. Returning for a toilet w/ flapper. Old Kohler works great. Purchased for the 2nd bathroom. All new Kohler have piston and cannot get one w/ flapper. Don't fix something that isn't broken.
Another bad experience in 3 months
Another bad experience in 3 months. Bathroom fixture bought through Lowes. $1000 toilet. Box crushed. Inside toilet bowl and tank much debris and dust. Flush lever filthy. Contacted customer followed the protocol to register a complaint. Basically told to hash it out with Lowes. If that doesn't work get back to them. No. Not going to happen. Kohler needs to correct it not the customer. They need to hold their freight contractors and dealers accountable.

Avoid Kohler!
This is about an expensive (four figure) shower control, the Kohler K-528-K-NA DTV Digital Two-Port Thermostatic Valve. It is a total rip-off. Works barely 10% of the time. We’ve thrown good money after bad, paying plumbers to “fix” and “clean” it. After four frustrating years, we have no choice but to invest in removing all Kohler products from our house. The fact is, this is a bad company that makes bad products. Avoid Kohler completely.
POOR QUALITY TOILET SEATS
Contacted Kohler to purchase a replacement toilet seat for a Kohler toilet. Kohler referred me to ebay for an elongated seat in the color of my choice. The seat arrived in a timely manner. I contacted a professional plumber to install the seat. It is a real piece of junk. In addition to being flimsy the lid is not even attached to the seat. The seat does not fit snugly on the toilet. I wasted my money. How can a company rip customers off in this manner. I have two other toilets that are American Standard and have never had a issue. Kohler should refund the purchase price.
