Knitferatu makes gothic knitwear in real jacquard. The designs on our sweaters and cardigans (grim reapers, tombstones, bats, moons, Nosferatu with his knitting needles) are not printed, embroidered or applied on top: they are knitted into the fabric itself, stitch by stitch, on industrial flat-bed machines. Pattern and garment are the same object, so there is nothing to crack, peel or fade. Every piece is knitted to order in a family-run knitwear atelier in Barletta, Italy, with forty years of flat-bed jacquard behind it. Nothing sits in a warehouse: your piece is programmed, knitted, hand-finished and steamed after you order it, which takes 2 to 3 weeks for collection pieces. Our knitwear is a heavyweight blend of 50% wool and 50% acrylic, with a relaxed unisex fit in sizes S to 2XL. We also knit commissions. Customers send us a drawing, a band logo, a photo of their pet or their own motif, and we turn it into a knitting chart for their approval before the machine starts. Commissions take 2 to 4 weeks and can be knitted in larger sizes, up to 7XL. Shipping is tracked and free worldwide. Collection pieces come with free size exchanges and 14-day returns. Commissions are knitted to the customer's own design, so change-of-mind returns do not apply to them, while a faulty piece is always covered. Knitferatu is sold through our website, knitferatu.com.

Absolutely outstanding from start to…

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish.

I approached Knitferatu with a very detailed idea for a completely bespoke Christmas jumper for my wife, based around her love of classic crime fiction, and the end result is genuinely fantastic.

Marco and the team put an incredible amount of time and care into turning the design into something that could actually be knitted properly. The detail they managed to preserve in the finished jumper is remarkable, and it genuinely feels like a completely unique, one-off piece rather than a generic personalised product.

The communication throughout was spot on. Marco kept me updated, explained the process clearly, sent test images and progress photos, and made the whole experience feel very personal. I always knew what was happening and what stage the jumper was at.

The craftsmanship is excellent, the design has come out beautifully on both the front and back, and the final jumper looks even better than I hoped.

Considering the amount of bespoke work involved, I also thought the price was very fair.

This was meant to be a really special present for my wife, and Knitferatu absolutely delivered. I genuinely cannot wait to give it to her.

A huge thank you to Marco and everyone involved. Exceptional service, exceptional communication, and a brilliant finished product.
