I was looking for a digital angle gauge and went to the new store on 184 st. A staff member helped me locate it, but it was sold out, so she checked and found it at the southside location. Then she helped me find a couple of Torx screwdrivers. Very nice. At the southside location, I found more helpful staff (and my DAG :). Obviously the product selection is awesome, but so are the staff.

On Friday, January 16, 2026, around 9:00 a.m., I visited the KMS Tools store in west Edmonton(New Opening). While purchasing several tools, I asked at checkout about a product I had bought from this store about two months ago that has an issue. I wanted to know whether an exchange or a paid upgrade would be possible.
The staff member responded by saying, "Unfortunately, the person who handles customer service is not here today.” That was the only explanation I was given.
I work in the trades and regularly purchase tools from KMS Tools. This was actually the first time I have ever asked about a defective product, so this response was quite surprising.
There are two reasons this experience was disappointing.
First, the customer service system itself. It appears that whether a customer can receive service depends entirely on whether a specific person happens to be working that day. If that person is not present, customer service simply is not available. Since I have only ever made purchases here before, I was not aware of this type of system, but after experiencing it, I felt it was worth sharing.
Second, the way the situation was handled at checkout. I was only told that the customer service person was not available “today.” No additional information was offered—such as when I could return, what time would be appropriate, or which day I could speak with the right person. Being told only that it could not be done, without any guidance, was disappointing from a customer service standpoint.
Overall, I am sharing this experience to highlight that customer service at KMS Tools unfortunately appears to depend on luck—if the right person is available, you receive support; if not, customer service is simply unavailable.

Cashiers are always great, inventory is hit and miss as alot of times go for a sale item and hooks/shelf are empty. Store is a bit messy

Christa Bell (spelling?) was very helpful in tracking down 13 hi vis vests for me. I believe they were sourced from 3 branches (not all in Edmonton). Prompt follow-up via return phone calls. I was in Edmonton for only 2 days, but all vests arrived by the expected delivery time.

I like the Milwaukee events, even though Milwaukee never helps me with tool problems, suggestions to improve shortcomings, and never any good deals or exchanges. Dewalt will swap tools to upgrade to a Dewalt tool, nice.
KMS always helps to make things right if ever there is an issue, very good support.

Ordered a new table saw online. Two weeks later I get a call to come pick it up from the store. When I got there, they had the saw sitting on a pallet, no box, out of its packaging, and they tried to pass that on to me as "new/unused". I'm not suggesting it was used, only that it could have been and I wouldn't have been any the wiser. They then suggested it was a display unit, but still new - which wasn't sitting right with me. I've seen before how display units are treated and more than once have noticed a rack and pinion or fence damaged or even broken. So after some internal deliberations I refused delivery and had them refund me for the unit, which they did without issue. The warehouse staff were very friendly and accommodating as well, and seemed understanding of my not wanting to take the bare, unpackaged tool they had waiting for me on a pallet. They went out of their way to try to find me a replacement, but had none available.
They also neglected to include the battery and charger that were part of the package I ordered. I had to show them my receipt before they'd get it for me. Had I forgotten to bring it up before I left the store (had I actually accepted the tool they tried to pass off on me) I probably would have been out 1/2 the reason for making the purchase in the first place. But that is neither here nor there since I didn't end up taking delivery.
On the more negative side, they say they will refund any new unused item with its original packaging, but then try to sell items as new that don't come with any. It makes perfect sense to sell a display unit, but not at full price and not when your customer is expecting it to come packaged from the factory. That just seems wrong to me.
So I wasted a couple of hours of my day and am still without a table saw, but at least I got my money back. I would still buy from this company, in store, but I don't trust their online sales anymore.

I've never been to KMS before. I went one day because they were open and I needed some welding supplies. My supplier really messed up and were closed. KMS staff was amazing with helping me out and getting me going. I found the prices to be excellent had a great selection of welding supplies from many different brands. They have great sales as well.

I have shopped at kms for years with some big ticket items and lots of small purchases. Every time has been a great experience, from the guys on the floor to the cashiers. An example is i bought a Binford pin nailer . first time using it and it kept opening the carridge every time I shot a nail. I shelved it for about two years and an occaision came and I needed a new one. with no receipt the guy brought up my receipt and gave me my money back towards a new Hitachi pin nailer that still works like new. That was abby store. same great service in Edmonton where I was permitted to buy a few things jointer lathe dust collectors that were coming on a three day sale a week before the sale all at sale price.
