My wife and I traveled on the Joh Hall Untamed Alaska tour in August 2024. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. The accommodations, food, transport were all top of the line, but most importantly the path the tour took through Alaska brought us to so many great sites and experiences that we will remember always. Everyone from John Hall we came in contact with could not have been more professional, accommodating, and personable. It was a trip of a lifetime!

We had a wonderful time on our John Hall’s Untamed Alaska trip. The tour guides were very good, the adventures fun, food was delicious everyday and we hope to do another trip in the future.

We enjoyed the stress-free opportunity to see Alaska for the first time. It was almost flawless. The food was great and most restaurants were of the highest quality. There were a couple of lunch stops that were in keeping with the adventure we were on. So not as fancy. The accommodations were terrific. The bus driver who narrated our adventure was professional and personable and fun. We were both a small group, and they were friendly and silly and all and all a great time.

We took the John Hall’s Alaska “Untamed Alaska” tour in August. This was our first “premium” trip in 42 years of marriage, and the John Hall’s Alaska experience met our every expectation. A very well organized and coordinated trip with a perfect variety of tour locations and excellent excursion experiences either for our whole group together or as optional smaller group choices. Great lodging accommodations at every stop. The “small group” tour aspect was very enjoyable for us, and we had a great group of people on our tour with us. Our Tour Manager, Paul, did a great job keeping us all on the same page, and his own travel expertise and overall knowledge of Alaska and our specific tour experiences were a huge plus.
A great trip all around! John Hall’s will certainly be our first option to consider for our next premium travel adventure.

What a wonderful experience from start to finish. The bus driver/guide/ host Eric was the best. In the early part of the trip Rebecca was an added bonus. We had a single gentleman on our trip that Rebecca helped fit in and make friends. It goes to show John Halls Tours care about its travelers 👍👍. I have and will tell people what a great tour and great value for your money. The only complaint if you can call it that, is that food portions at some restaurants were way too much for some of us. Great friends were made.

WE really loved our trip. Paul our tour guide did an awesome job. Every part of the trip was planned and executed well. Thanks for the great adventure. We will tell friends about John Hall.

John Hall's Alaska - Untamed Alaska - tour was great. We got the chance to do so many different items, Helicopter Ride & Landing on a Glacier, ATV Riding in water and hilly terrain with the beautiful landscape as our backdrop, taking a train ride in the 1st class dome section and taking a jet boat ride getting so close to class 6 rapids while seeing lots of bears and eagles. People just need to remember that 50 or 60 degrees there is still quite cool because of the permafrost. Dress in layers.

Our tour guide on the bus was very knowledgeable of Alaska. He was very friendly and tried to meet the needs of everyone on the bus. His enthusiasm made our trip enjoyable. The accommodations were top rate and the vast array of food choices were delicious.

Staff was very courteous and knowledgeable, always asking if we needed anything. 3 meals a day, waayy to much food, we started spliting meals. Accommodations were very nice. Our travel coach was very nice, of a size that could fit 56 seats but only had 42 so leg room was plenty. Kurig coffee maker, loaded with several flavors of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Bottled water and snacks galore. Got to see the real Alaska.

It was a nice fun smooth tour. It was great having all the reservations taken care of and arranged. The guide was very personable and fun to have. He really added to the trip with his knowledge of Alaska. I really liked the different lodges we were able to experience.

We wanted an intimate experience with Alaska and we got it! The planning was excellent with Jenny. When we ran into problems with our departure for Alaska, Jenny was there to try and rebook our cancelled flight so we wouldn't miss the boat.
I especially loved the experience at the South Sawyer Glacier and witnessing the calving! Being up close and personal with the whales was amazing! Getting into that Zodiac boat to get close was worth the price of admission! Although Haines was an interesting stop, I wish the bus driver would have stopped along the way when we saw some wildlife. Maybe a little more time in Wrangell to visit the shops would have been nice. The weather was spectacular, the crew was great, the food was awesome! We enjoyed getting to know the other passengers. Matt was easy to get along with and being able to ride in the bridge with the captain and crew was special. Our only disappointment was we could not partake in the Sitka excursion because our flight was at 12:30. We were dropped off at the airport at 8:30am, it wasn't even open yet. Could not leave for any nearby sightseeing for the 4 hour wait. Overall though, I would highly recommend it!

Grand Slam tour - we had a great trip! The trip was very well organized, the John Hall representative was available and attentive to make sure the trip went as planned! We would/will travel again with John Hall!!

Our trip to Southeast Alaska was spectacular. John Hall’s Alaska Tour provides a more intimate, up close experience of southeast Alaska and the Inside Passage. We sailed on the Admiralty Dream for a small ship experience. We had amazing up close and personal views of glaciers and waterfalls, and had many exciting whale sightings and other wildlife. Our tour guide, Matt Lowe was terrific and provided detailed information of all locations and sights, and made certain that no detail pertaining to our journey was left out. The crew assigned to our tour was spectacular as well. Every detail was covered to insure our satisfaction and happiness. Food menus were varied and delicious and reflected many foods of the local areas. Portions were just the right size. This was our very first cruise experience, and we chose a small ship excursion for more exposure to the landscape than a larger boat with its multiple restaurants, casinos and the like. Our dining hall comfortably served the 45 or so guests in our group. A lounge area was also available to unwind, socialize and have a cocktail or appetizers. I don’t think we could have made a better choice than John Hall’s Alaska for our trip. Memories that will last a lifetime. And we got some really awesome photos to prove it!

All aspects of our tour were arranged by John Hall travel. Meals, travel, accommodations, transportation, sights to visit, all we're excellent! John Hall's associates we're the best! They were cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable, and hard working. Our tour guide (Eric Vera) was the best!

National Parks of Alaska Tour - July 2024

This was a comprehensive tour of six National Parks throughout Alaska, Katmai, Kenai, Lake Clark, Denali, Gates of the Arctic and Wrangell-St. Elias. We had an aggressive schedule that had us flying all over Alaska to see the sights. Coordination of multiple planes to accommodate our group of 26 was handled flawlessly. Accommodations were as good as each area provided allowing us an authentic local experience. This is an active schedule but when you are on a plane, bus or train, you can catch some rest if needed.
It is important to note that everything is scheduled for you, there is very little personal time for exploring destinations and activities not on the agenda. If you must start late in the morning and require a leisurely pace, this is not the trip for that.
I found this trip was an excellent value and I came away with a very great appreciation for the tremendous state of Alaska.
