In December 2024, I rented a BMW M3 Competition. According to the signed agreement, the rental period was 1 day (14.12.2024 – 15.12.2024). On the same day, I had an accident.
A company representative came to the scene and told me that, since I was a tourist and leaving the country, I needed to transfer 50,000 AED as a deposit. I was clearly told that I would pay exactly 20% of the repair cost, the rest would be refunded, and that there would be no additional charges such as loss of use.
I trusted the company and transferred the money.
After that, communication became difficult. I was repeatedly asked to wait, no clear updates were provided, and eventually communication stopped completely. At this point, I am being ignored.
I also tried to resolve this through DED (Dubai Consumer Protection), but the case was closed without a clear resolution.
What concerns me most is that the documents later provided do not match the original agreement. While my contract shows a 1-day rental, I was later presented with documents indicating a 153-day rental period, along with a total charge exceeding 230,000 AED.
At this point, the issue remains unresolved and communication from the company is absent.
I strongly recommend documenting all terms in writing before making any payments.
