I had a car from Kia the sale team said…

I had a car from Kia the sale team said l could put my personal number plates on l transfer them on and was told by Kia finance l can’t have them on because the logbook is in my mums name and l had to have a special car insurance as my mum was the owner and is not a driver

One star - constant source of frustration, rounded off by the abysmal service from Harry

The reason I’m giving one star is for the lady my wife and I spoke to in the recoveries department around 1230 on the 24th of September. She actually sounded like she cared, was professional, apologetic and wanted to find a solution to our problems. Sadly, the line disconnected and when we were put back through to recoveries, we spoke to possibly the most unpleasant, unprofessional customer service individual I have ever spoken to. Harry was rude and obnoxious and kept on using the phrase “it’s fine” and “no worries” when we were describing that my wife has a terminal illness and the reason we had been put through to recoveries was because of a Kia finance error, not our own!!
The service from Kia Finance has been a constant issue and frustration but yesterday, Harry has somehow managed to make a bad service even more abysmal!! I would never want anyone to lose their job but I implore Kia Finance to listen to the call between ourselves and Harry from around 1245 yesterday and either retrain him or get him off the phones!!! My wife is expecting a call from a manager today or tomorrow to discuss the amount of issues we have had. Thank you for your time.

Avoid at all costs

My husband purchased his 4th Kia in March 2024.Sadly he passed away in Oct 2024.When I notified Kia a d saidI would just carry on with the repayments,they said oh no you can't do that,we have to refinance which meant the repayments doubled.After.being harassed for months even though I made every repayment,I have had to pay off the outstanding balance as I wasn't willing to trade the car in as it meant a lot to my late husband.Ieas treated appallingly.

Super inefficient but only thinking about how to get your money

I sold the car on 23/6/25 to KIA dealer and they made the payment to them to clear the finance the same day. I called KIA Finance and they said it would take 3-5 working days to update and I will be confirmed via email/letter.
As the next direct debit was due on 27/6/25 so I cancelled the direct debit just in case they took my money again.
Apparently my worry was right. I received no confirmation from them until I suddenly remembered about this today (09/07/2025). So I called them to check and they confirmed it’s all clear. However for some reasons they didn’t send the confirmation like 2 weeks after until I called them??
Luckily I never assumed they did a good job so I cancelled my direct debit straightaway after the settlement.
Guess what, coincidentally, I received a letter from them today (after the call). I guessed they sent me the confirmation letter late…. But NO, they sent me a letter saying that they noticed I cancelled the direct debit and asked me to make payment!
Ok well done.

+ one plus point was the lady I spoke to on the phone was quite pleasant to speak to

We purchased a new car through a main dealer, who obtained a settlement figure from Kia Finance.
The day after we collected our new car, the dealer settled the agreed amount, with the details provided by Kia
I cancelled my direct debit 2 weeks later
Then the night began!
We received “arrears” letters, stating we cancelled our direct debit, and the payment was now due, we contacted Kia immediately to explain that we had now sold that car, and the outstanding amount had been settled, not according to Kia, who were rude to us stating we were liable for the payment and that we were to pay it immediately
We contacted our dealer who confirmed payment had been made the day after we collected the car, it had been paid in full
We contacted Kia who still insisted no payment had been received. We were getting increasingly stressed as you can imagine how does 11k just disappear!
We went backwards and forwards with our dealer who sent us the proof of payment
We were still receiving”arrears” letters in the meantime!
We contacted Kia again and emailed proof of payment, their attitude then changed funny that!
They said due to the stress they had put us through they would arrange compensation, what we didn’t realise and they didn’t tell us, that before we cancelled the direct debit they took another payment! They actually owed us money! Unbelievable!
3 days later they called us to say the dealer was at fault as they didn’t put the agreement number on the bank transfer
That’s total rubbish as we have a copy with the agreement number and the car reg on!
So we won’t be receiving any compensation!
Despite us having the proof the agreement number was on there!
Apparently the funds had gone into a suspense account! Seems like this happens a lot!
We’ve been lied to constantly and the staff apart from one guy, were rude beyond belief zero customer service!
They did say they cancelled all “late” charges!

rubbish customer service

so i raised a complaint which they have thrown out as they were following kia policy???? I was not asking for any information or wanting to discuss the account?? weird policy-

So now over a month on and still.no…

So now over a month on and still.no closer to getting this sorted. I have spoke to my new finance lender and they have shown me proof of the settlement. Santander kia finance lender have now contacted me to say I have outstanding payments I have explained to them what has happend and now are investigating this for me. I am now looking at seeking advise from a solicitor and taking kia finance to a small claims court for all the stress this is causing me and my family. I am also speaking to the media with regard to publishing my experance as finance company's are already under the spot light

awful company

i had my old vehicle with KIA fiance and put my KIA part ex against my new vehicle. this was on the 21st of December. they told my new fiance company the payment had been accepted. 5 days later KIA finance took the direct debit out of my bank leaving me with no money and in my overdraft. i called KIA finance to find out what was happening and they told me the application for my finance had not yet gone though. and i would have to wait for a refund but couldn't give me a date as to when this would happen. i would not touch this company again and if you are thinking of buying a car with this company i would think twice this has destroyed my Christmas.

ASOLUTE SHOWER OF IMCOMPETENT STAFF new biometric system useless got locked out rang customer services to rectify i think i spoke to someone in a kintergarden could not care less totaly unhelpful kept blaming it on car dealer think they have been trained from reading a cereal box GET REAL AND GIVE SOME RESPECT AND HELP TO YOUR CUSTOMERS WITHOUT THEM YOU WONT HAVE A BUSINESS if you dont want grief keep away from these people traing in customer services badley needed

Kia Finance UK

I collected a new Kia Niro HEV, purchased via part exchange (about one third) and Kia Finance (about two thirds). I telephoned Kia Finance on 4th June. The telephone was answered fairly quickly by Luke. I asked for my settlement figure. I answered some security questions and was then provided with a settlement figure followed by an email with Kia Finance’s banking details and a password. The settlement figure was slightly over my bank’s daily BACS payments allowance so I paid off the settlement figure in two instalments on 4th June and 5th June. On 6th June I received a Clearance Letter/email from Kia Finance. The whole process was handled professionally and efficiently by Kia Finance staff.

Would give zero stars if it was an option

I wanted to repay my PCP in full, so I checked the website. After answering a few questions, it said I had to call up.
Called up and got the settlement figure. Call handler then says:
Is the card you're going to use registered to your name and address?
Me: I don't want to use my card, I want to pay by bank transfer
Kia: You can't do that. Is the card you're going to use registered to your name and address?
Me: I haven't got a 16 Grand credit limit on my card, can I pay by my bank?
Kia: Is the card you're going to use registered to your name and address?
Me: I can't pay by credit card
Kia: Is the card you're going to use registered to your name and address?
Me: is the only way to proceed to give you my card details? But I'm telling you I don't have enough credit.
Kia: Is the card you're going to use registered to your name and address?
Me: Okay, here's my card details
Kia: that payment has failed
Me: I know, I need another payment option
Kia: Is the card you're going to use registered to your name and address?
Me: (getting angry) I TOLD YOU I DON'T WANT TO PAY BY CARD
Kia: puts phone down on me

A robot could have done better than this person.

Only use Kia finance if you think you will never have to contact them!

Slow to refund

I bought a Kia Stonic in May this year that was faulty so I rejected the car in October. I have spent the last month trying to get my refund from Kia finance who seem to have a variety of excuses. I have now received a very small fraction of what is owed. Update: It's now a new year and I'm still waiting for my refund. No one can answer me why it has not been paid.

Unnecessary stress following a bereavement

Absolutely appalling customer service. My dad died on the 24th August, we returned his car on 29th august and settled the outstanding finance, as we thought this less stressful than waiting for everything to drag on through probate. How wrong we were! We continued to get letter after letter about the outstanding amount owed, with charges being added daily. The garage have confirmed that they settled the account with Kia finance on the 11th September, yet the letters still came. We had an e-mail from Kia finance themselves on 3rd October saying they had found the payment in their suspense account and it would be settled and confirmation sent . And yet today I receive a letter from Kia finance addressed to the executors of dads estate, (so they know he has died) demanding immediate payment or further action will be taken. It is still less than 2 months since dad died and this is unnecessary stress and upset for us, particularly as it has all been settled.

Made things difficult for final payment of car

We needed a signed purchase order letter with information to release the funds from our bank to pay off our car. Kept being bounced between Kia and Kia finance. They just kept ignoring our request, sending us their chaps payment and telling us it was Kia we needed the info from. Eventually they said they could send original paperwork which would take 28 days which wasn’t any good anyhow.

They kept adding default charges as this dragged on with them not providing us with what we requested. I sent email traffic to their customer relations email for help but they didn’t reply.

I wouldn’t deal with Kia or Kia Finance after this.

Kia Finance charge excessive admin charges

I have just received my 2nd admin charge for getting fines passed on by Kia Finance to myself. The first was a £15 admin fee and the second £30.
To my mind this is treating the customer with utter contempt. Kia are essentially saying they can charge what they want and you as the customer can't do an awful lot about it (save not renewing the contract, which I will not be doing). It is simple profiteering.

One star as zero isn't an option

One star as zero isn't an option. Worst experience I have ever had. Bought a brand new Kia Sportage GT S Line last July. Beginning of Oct, 3.5 months and 5500 miles in, car stopped. Engine failure. New part and subsequent engine build required. No car for 2 months. Kia assist had nothing good to say about Kia and could not help me. Had to get car to garage myself. Logged complaint and ended up with Cameron as my complaint handler. Basically by the time anything was done, the car was fixed and so I was told nothing Cameron could do and I had to have the car back. May, 7 months since new and 11100 miles on the clock. Car stops in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the road, no lights, nothing. Waited 9 hours, Kia assist again had nothing good to say about Kia cars, Kia assist couldn't get me home as it was a bank holiday and so I had to make my own way 200 miles with all my stuff at my own expense whilst my car was relayed back. 2 days later I called to find out where my car was. Car again, same apparently modified part that wouldn't fail again, failed and needed the same as it did previously. Another 2 months no car. Called Cameron, spoke to Adam, it's a complaint resurrection, much easier. Cameron would call me. 2 weeks later, I called Cameron, spoke to a woman that apparently sits opposite him. He called me back, explained very straight forward this time, get the V5 and keys and be ready to return to dealership. We'll get it investigated and as it's same part be easy to resolve. 2 weeks later I called again, no response from Cameron as he was on the phone according to John. Called again 2 weeks later, apparently still waiting for the investigator. Then the dealership called me to say after 2 months car fixed. Called Cameron , spoke to Harry who informed me that as it's been fixed, nothing they can do as cannot be rejected. Demanded Cameron call me back. It's been 2 weeks, no response.
In summary Kia do not give a damn about your safely, all they care is that they get your money. They sell cars that are unsafe and not fit for purpose . They offer no assistance , apology or compensation but are skillful at avoidance tactics to ensure the car gets fixed. You may be harmed in said car as it just stops with no warning but they have their money and do not care.
I ended up on anti depressants and such bad anxiety through this that I was unable to leave the house for 2 months. Fortunately I had no car anyway! Appalling treatment and I'm sorry but £32,000 is not a small amount of money. I have taken this to a solicitor and am considering the press. If you have an issue , I would request Harry, John or Adam as at least they answer the phone
Cameron clearly has a disregard and lack of respect for anyone's safety

I am very disappointed with kia…

I am very disappointed with kia finance, first I just got new car from Perry's and Perry's told me the paid settlement, I just rang kia finance the woman was very rude no helpful at all , I had to pay £277.70 27/08/2021 for the car I don't own, I am frustrated, disappointed, upset, tired , I am working at NHS night I feel like I don't have a break and I don't velvet enjoy this new car anymore , when this is going to end , please lord help me . POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
I need help . Please refund my money £277.70
