Better than a walkie talkie or a phone for my kids
We swapped to karri after trying normal walkie talkies with our kids. We had several occasions where random people were on the same channel as our kids and could listen to what they were saying. Karri has been so much better as there's no chance of this happening and we can see their location now too. It also means we're not carrying a walkie talkie ourselves!

We got one for our son so he can have it with him at football. Two of his mates now have one too and their always chatting. Its great they can do this safely I don't want my 9 year old using a phone where anybody can talk to him.

It's been great for our son. We bought another one for our nephew and it was a bit fiddly to get them connected to each other at first but now they talk all the time
Great device
We had one of the early prototypes and recently received the upgraded version . Its so cool to see the improvements over the last 18 months. The new Karri is easier to use and our daughter loves it!
Great much needed product, giving good independence.
Love the product, its the sort of thing that does a particular job, and does it well. We had to restart it a few times when we go on holiday but other than that its been great. We've had other family members get them for their kids as well, and its been popular.

Our daughter loves it! She's been messaging us from various rooms in the house asking for things already. We bought it so that she can take it to school where they've banned phones and it's been useful for if we're a bit late to pick her up or if she wants to go to a friend's house. She's only 8 so no way she needs a phone yet but this makes a big difference to our peace of mind
Peace of mind for Parents
I have 2 girls who crave a smartphone and independence, but aren't old enough yet. They have had their Karri's for almost 6 months and it's given us peace of mind when they walk home from school, we can reach them quickly if needed (and vice versa). Easy to setup, we've used these on several holidays abroad which means the girls can have some time to themselves (screen free!) and explore safely, letting us know how they're getting on if at a kids club or by the pool. We can always check in on the GPS too see where they are too. Our youngest daughter now also has one and she had her very first sleep over at a friends house a few weeks ago and we were able to say goodnight to her via the Karri.

Unfit for purpose
The Karri is entirely unreliable and very laggy. We have tried to use it multiple times now to test it in multiple settings but have been dissapointed every time. It often takes hours for messages to send or sometimes they don't send at all. The Karri itself is not intuitive and the buttons are hard to press. It is much too big for a small child to carry consistently unless they wear a bag which is unreasonable for a 6 year old for example.
It is a real disappointment as their marketing was so good but they made a lot of promises they have not delivered. This device is un-fit for purpose and therefore entirely unsafe. Do not waste your money on this!

Cannot fault Karri and the team at all, they are so hard working, innovative and ready to listen to feedback. Thank you for our new Karri, which my son lives. The design is excellent!
Great device, excellent customer service
We’ve been really impressed with the KARRI device and the overall experience so far.
The product itself does exactly what we were hoping for – it’s well designed, intuitive to use, and gives real peace of mind. Most importantly, my daughter absolutely loves using it, which makes all the difference.
We did have a small technical issue early on, but the customer service was excellent throughout. Support were responsive, helpful and genuinely keen to get things resolved. The issue was sorted quickly and we’ve had no problems since.
From purchase through to aftercare, the experience has been very positive. It’s a great product backed up by a team that clearly cares about their customers. I’d happily recommend it to other parents.

We’ve been really impressed with our KARRI. The packaging and box were great, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow — setup only took a few minutes.
Even though we live in a small rural town, the signal has been consistently good. It’s already given our kids a bit more independence: they’ve started taking the long way around to school, and it gives us real peace of mind knowing we can stay in touch as they go.
Our kids absolutely love it, and it’s becoming part of their daily routine. Would definitely recommend!

Their customer service is top notch. They were so helpful, and just so kind. I cannot wait for the Karri Gen 2 to come out, we will be long time customers I’m sure. I even ordered one for my nephew!
Was an early adopter, should have known.
Was an early adopter, believed in their vision and wanted to support the business. They took my money and kept delaying shipment took almost a year to get the product in hand. Unfortunately they half-assed it and sent me two bricks with needed multiple replacements. The product itself was glitchy and faulty to the extent that neither of my kids could use it. They are essentially two bricks lying in my drawer.
Whats the solution? Well looks like they've redesigned the product and are launching a V2 while leaving all V1 customers in the lurch. They told me they'll be offering a trade-in program for V1 customers who got shafted, but now it turns out the trade-in program is a $15 off coupon code. Really bad form and I wouldn't trust them again to do whats right.
Also if anyone is wondering, the battery life does not even fill a whole day. The UX is slow and glitchy so there is a huege lag between when the button is pressed and recording begins, which is confusing for children. The button itself is hard to keep held down for a 5-6 year old, even for me an adult its uncomfortbale. The speaker in the unit is cheap and the tinny sound comes out like from a cheap toy, hard to play messages. Just bad build quality, bad software and bad customer service.

One of them has glitched a number of…
One of them has glitched a number of times and I have had to reset the console. It also has quite a poor battery life. With very little use (perhaps 6 messages in total) both consoles only last max 7 hours a day from fully charged to almost completely out of battery.

Great product that is fantastic if you…
Great product that is fantastic if you want GPS but don't want your child to have a screen. Postage takes ages, ordered in June and received end Sept but I understand this is because the product is very new. Been using it well. Sometimes GPS can be intermittent but I am pleased with it and my 10 year old feels more confident walking a bit more on her own.
Whilst I can see the benefit for some…
Whilst I can see the benefit for some people in certain domestic situations, the idea of my 8 year old's first device being a push-button recording one, is questionable. Within 30 minutes I had his Mum's voice (my ex) on repeat in the living room through the device. She was even complaining at the music she had heard in the background when my son was recording (rap, no swearing).
A few minutes later my son was recording me, without my knowledge or consent, and about to send it to his Mum.
Be warned!
