We could not fault the service recieved from Shaun at the Hexham shop and his fitters were brilliant. We chose Amtico for a re-fitted bathroom and have selected a carpet for 2 bedrooms and our stairs. Shaun was very helpful - letting us take samples home to colour match and he visited us to get the correct measurements. Thes Amtico fitters were top class & very professional and did a great job. They also took time advise us about using the same typeof flooring elsewhere. Would recommend the Hexham staff 100%.

Great experience as usual with Karpet Mills, especially Shaun and Steven. They really spend time with you and make you feel valued. The fitter came on time and did a great job with our kitchen. Thank you

Faultless all round! All of the staff at Kingston Park are extremely helpful, the man who came to measure up explained everything & how to get the least wasteage & best price. Fitters great too. We'll definitely be back !

Went into the Benton branch on Saturday, and the member of staff ( I apologise I can’t remember her name) was so helpful, polite, friendly & not pushy. She enabled me to choose a carpet relatively stress free (1000’s to choose from) and sort days out for fitting & with help to move bedroom furniture as I can’t do it. Although I don’t have the carpet yet, if that goes as great as my showroom experience- I’d have no hesitation to go back.

Fantastic service from Shaun in the Hexham branch. Its been a long project renovating my house over the last 18 months. Shaun has diligently and caringly helped in what has sometimes been difficult decisions. He's a great asset to Karpet Mill.

We searched for Amtico suppliers in the north east and travelled to Karpet Mills Kingston park and was well impressed with the service from the salesman Iain, he was very helpful and informative.
Amtico is very expensive so needless to say I was worried. Peter the fitter was amazing, went through every detail with us. the flooring is fantastic just what we wanted. we are over the moon with it. We also purchased a carpet from them and are delighted with that as well. the carpet fitters Gary & Ian again were amazing and careful, carpet is fitted beautifully. A big thank you to you all., Would highly recommend.

Avoid this company. Terrible attitude from their staff (we had one fitter storm off in a strop because we asked him to wear a mask due to my pregnancy). They also managed to mess up fitting our bathroom flooring twice, leaving it in a horrible state. Glue all over the flooring, sealing not finished, lumps under the flooring and ruined our skirting. Don’t waste your time with them you’ll just end up having to fix whatever they ruined.

I have got to say to anyone buying a carpet from this company DONT BOTHER they are by far the worst company ive had dealings with , the customer service is terrible asked them to phone me back a number of times which they did not , was told my carpet would be 10 days due to having it whipped so I waited phoned them promised they would phone me back this went on for two weeks finally I’d had enough told them I’d come get my deposit back , they then managed to pick the carpet up from the whipping company i by the way had to do all the phone calling! So they told me they would deliver first thing the next morning waited and no carpet so I phoned them oh it’ll be there next day hooray it did arrive however no underlay so I still had to go to the shop to pick it up myself , started the fitting of my carpet got to the stairs which is only a runner hence the whipping , to my surprise NOT !!! They hadn’t had one of the edges whipped so phoned them they went on to tell me they don’t know how long it would take to get it done so it would be quicker to take it myself which I did and had to pay another £10 for their mistake NEVER NEVER again will I use this next to useless company

Karpet Mills Gateshead , 1st class service from start to finish ,Paul at the Carpet showroom more than helpful and very pleasant with no sales pressure whatsoever, Fitters Chris and John did an exceptional fitting service in the Bedroom ,Landing, Stairs, Hallway and Front room, could not find any fault in their workmanship and were very helpful moving some of the larger furniture items. 5* service all round.

Joke of a company. Customer service, non-existent. Respect for customers, abysmal.

Anyone who is looking for a carpet or flooring I would advise to look elsewhere. We are looking to have some additional flooring installed and have even had someone out to measure and price the job. However, this was then passed to "the right person" who is the hard flooring specialist. We have tried to talk to "the right person" on 5 different occasions. The "right person" is never in the business and we are always told the paperwork is on the top of his pile and he will call tomorrow when he's back... 5 occasions he's never called back. We now give up and will take our business elsewhere. It would have been far better if they had told us they didnt want to job so we could move on and use someone else.

Carpets are excellent quality. sales man, Ian Douglass, is absolutely brilliant - does anything to help. Recommend them!!!!!

Well, where to begin, I could write a book so far since our first dealings with this company on 13th May. We ordered 2 bedroom carpets and had booked 2 days apart for fitting to ensure we could remove/replace furniture for a smooth process, only on the first day the fitters were a bit dense and it turned out they’d come with the larger of the two rooms carpet and fitted it into the smallest room! Yes you have read this correctly! Not being a carpet fitter myself my husband and I did wonder how there was so much waste! At this stage we were not remotely aware of what was about to unfold 2 days later, anyway 2 days later and 2 new different fitters turned up with the smaller carpet and took one look at the large bedroom and scratched their heads then rang the store then seemed annoyed and a little amused at the same time, well you’d think it isn’t rocket science to work out you’ve brought the wrong carpet for the wrong room and then proceed to fit it but, apparently it is🤷‍♀️ the fitters rang the store, and it was established the said cock up, “oh we think your gonna get a heated call from the Mrs” they said, they were full of apologies and said good luck dealing with Steve as he’s an absolute piece of work! This did not bode well hearing this at all😳
The manager Steve at the Kingston Park store did not offer any form of apology and was curt and rude and said he couldn’t do anything that day as they didn’t have the carpet in stock, (despite the salesman saying on the day of purchase they always had this one in stock and it was only the staircase carpet that had to be specially ordered in!) His response being “what do you want me to do, make one for you “ at which point after being very calm I detonated, he advised the carpet would have to come from Wales overnight and he’d “try” and get us sorted for the Friday, I had to stop myself from saying ooh that’s a bit drastic the sheep will still be in the field surely they even need more advance warning (at this point impromptu unpaid leave had to be booked in) to use the word incompetence is actually rather mild
Now to move onto the saga of the staircase, bearing in mind the salesman on the 13th May advised he would ring when the staircase carpet was delivered into store and arrange a fitting date (which he duly did so on the 21st May and booked us in for the 9th June) well you guessed it, here we are with no carpet fitted and cock ups galore yet again, as according to the call from Steve the manager on Tuesday 8th June, the carpet was not in store !!!!! He promised faithfully he’d ring on the Thursday 10th with an update of when the carpet would be in, still waiting for this call to happen
In the meantime, apart from the deposit no further monies have exchanged hands, and after ringing around other well known carpet companies who have been well established a lot more years than Karpet Mills (since 2013) it would seem this company have a reputation that precedes them, always unable to guarantee booking days as fitters let them down so much, this actually correlates with what the 3 sets of fitters had to say about the manager at the Kingston Park store, going on to say he talks/treats the fitters like absolute dirt, so many fitters being self employed get their work elsewhere as they don’t need the grief and pittance of pay. So anyone with an ounce of common clearly can see through the lies here and know that my carpet is sat at the store’s warehouse but they can’t get any fitters to do their jobs for them, the manager has lying off to a fine form suffice to say if there were an Olympic category for it I’d certainly enter him for it 🙄
Suffice to say I will now be cancelling the remaining order and taking my business elsewhere, which is a shame because I was then going to give them business for a hallway/kitchen/living room/dining room! And the 2 bedrooms have been superbly done
I will also repost this on Trustpilot as anyone with an ounce of common sense can see the company seem fond of deleting the bad reviews, as the percentage of good/bad reviews do not add up

This is the third time we’ve bought from KarpetMills and the service has been exceptional every time. From the initial selection right through to the fitting everything has been spot on even though this last experience was during the lockdown. The sales staff, especially the two Davids, couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you.

Carpets are ordered and fully paid for. They were due to be laid tomorrow in three bedrooms which have been emptied. We have just had a phone call to say ‘whoops....it will be mid December before we can get the carpets’ A two month delay is not good enough. Why request and take the remainder of the money 48 hours earlier? The company doesn’t use email which is also frustrating and receipts have to be posted out ‘if requested’

Purchased new lino for our kitchen from karpet mills in Hexham. The floor needed levelled prior to fitting so karpet mills organised for ply to be put down. The fitter put a screw through a water pipe which wasnt noticed until a week or so later when the lino started to lift. This has caused substantial damage to our kitchen floor, the whole kitchen will likely have to come out to replace the floor and pipework. We reported this to the branch manager and were told in no uncertain terms that they would not be entertaining this as it was somehow our fault as we didnt explain to the fitter there was pipes there. Kitchen=pipework. They are the most unprofessional, rude and uncaring company we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and i would avoid at all costs. They will happily take your money and then leave you in limbo.

After so much indecision, Karpetmills helped me get two carpets into my house.
The sales staff in the store were superb. They did not pressure or prester me but helped me make decisions.
The carpet fitter were so professional and quick. They phoned the same day twice to confirm their arrival time and were in and out in 30 minutes.
