Absolutely trilled and feel very thankful that I was treated by Mr Balaggan.
I saw two other consultants, for an initial consultation, before Mr Balaggan, and none gave me the confidence like Mr Balaggan did.
I had complex issues, a previous tear in my retina, keratoconus, astigmatism, floaters and cataracts.
Right from the first consultation Mr Balagan's approach has been with meticulous care with a lot of attention to detail. The process of the correct lens choice to make was worth the wait. He took a lot of time consulting with the lens manufactures for the correct lenses to suit my eyes.
It's been four and three weeks since both cataract procedures and I have 20:20 vision in both eyes. I can't remember ever having vision like this.

Kam looked after my 97 year old mother who had cataract removal surgery and a lens implant in her right eye.He dealt with all the difficulties involved and keeping a balance between surgery and the necessity for surgery.We opted for surgery on the one eye not on both.She went to Kam after a NHS consultant had stated it wasn’t possible to do the surgery due to macular degeneration in her eyes.We were recommended to him by an optician who was aware of his expertise and skills in this field after we wanted a second opinion.
We can only thank him for his calm manner and surgical skills in improving her eye sight and enhancing the quality of the last few years of her life.

Last month I had a cataract removed from my right eye by Mr Balaggan and the insertion of a lens tailored to my specific requirements. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome - my sight is exactly what I'd hoped for, and more, because of the attributes of an enhanced lens.
After a bad experience elsewhere with my left eye, I was anxious about treatment to my right, but from my first meeting with Mr Balaggan, I had trust and confidence that I was in the best hands. At all stages, he was patient, attentive, listened to my concerns and took great care to ensure the best solution for my particular requirements.

Mr Balaggan is very well qualified and highly experienced, with a very pleasant, empathetic manner. The cataract operations were very successful, with my sight restored to 20/20+ vision. A possible problem with glaucoma was carefully investigated in collaboration with a glaucoma specialist colleague. I count myself very fortunate to have been one of Mr Balaggan's patients.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes and replacement lenses fitted in December 23 and March 24. The improvement in vision is nothing short of miraculous.

Look no further than Mr Kam Balagggan when requiring a superb opthalmologist. Any worries and concerns about eye surgery were immediately dispelled when meeting Mr Balaggan. His professionalism and reassuring manner must be second to none. I have received first class treatment and aftercare and would positively recommend him to anyone who is looking for the best.

A few years ago I suffered a detached retina which caused a macular hole. I had surgery and then a further operation to remove the oil which was used to stabilise the eye. Over the last months I noticed increasing amounts of oil were still present and this was causing me a lot of discomfort and sight issues. Having already had surgery I was very reluctant to do so for a third time. My optician agreed that I should seek a consultation. I chose Mr Balaggan after carefully looking for someone experienced in macular/retina surgery. From the initial consultation he was kind and understanding and explained in detail that he could remove the remaining oil and clean my lens as needed. After consideration I chose to undergo surgery in march and Mr Balaggan and his team were wonderful. They put me at ease (I was anxious) and following my final appointment I have more light coming into the eye and clearer vision. Mine was an unusual case and I’m very grateful to him and his caring team. I cannot recommend him enough and wish I had found him earlier. Five stars are not enough

I am so happy that I decided to have my cataract surgery carried out by Mr Kam Balaggan.
I first met him when he performed cataract surgery on both eyes for my husband who has unusual eye complications.My husband and I are both in our mid eighties and we were highly impressed by the care and detailed explanation given to us at that time. So when it seemed time to consider cataract surgery for myself there was absolute certainty as to whom I would select as my surgeon. My first eye was corrected in October 2023 and the other eye operated on in January 2024..
I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes and can look at the world in a way I have not done since I was a child.
Not only have I had such marvellous results but I found the whole experience of receiving treatment under Mr Balaggan so pleasurable.

I developed large floaters in my right eye around three years ago. Whilst my optician was most helpful and referred me to an NHS consultant, I was informed that an operation (Vitrectomy for floaters) was not possible through the NHS. The problem was causing much distress as I am already visually challenged through very high myopia. I did some research and discovered the work done by Mr Balaggan. Although, I don’t have private medical insurance, I needed to ascertain if it was possible to do something. Mr Balaggan was most thorough in is consultation and patiently answered all my concerns. He outlined the risks, particularly to patients like myself with complex vision. I went ahead with the surgery in February 2024. The surgery was successful. A few days later, I experienced an internal eye haemorrhage. An extremely rare and most unpredictable occurrence. Upon having a check up with Mr Balaggan, he got me into surgery the next day to address the issue. I am well on the way to recovery and floater free in my right eye! I cannot praise Mr Balaggan enough for his care and attention. He is very approachable and clearly dedicated to the wellbeing of his patients.

If ever a surgical procedure on the eye can be described as enjoyable my treatment by Mr Balaggan for vitreomacular traction and macula hole is the nearest it can be. From initial assessment to discharge I was treated with care, kindness and consideration. I received all the information and details I needed and was always given the opportunity to ask questions. The operation itself went very smoothly and calmly with no anxiety or pain on my part. I left the hospital with all the medication and instructions I needed and the reasssurance that I could contact Mr Balaggan or his staff if I ever had any concerns. A follow up appointment after two weeks was reassuring that all was proceeding as it should. Much to my surprise and delight the final appointment confirmed that not only had the macular hole been repaired but I had 20/20 vision in that eye, perfect sight once again. I cannot thank Mr Balaggan enough for his undoubted surgical skill and his calm and reassuring manner. I self funded the operation but it was money very, very well spent. To get clear sight back and continue with the many acitivities I enjoy that rely on good eyesight is miraculous.

Having had cataract operations July 23 and February 24 I have the utmost respect and confidence in the skills of Mr Balaggan. I would have no hesitation in recommending his services for pre-op, post-op and actual surgery.

Mr Balaggan was recommended to me by my optician. He has successfully closed a macular hole in my left eye and replaced the lens. My vision in that eye is now significantly better than it was before the procedures.
He has a calm reassuring manner. No question is too trivial and his skill as a surgeon is unquestionable.

I have undergone two cataract operations which Mr Balaggan did in January & February 2024. I have worn glasses for 70 years. The pre-op. examination was the most thorough eye assessment I have ever had, & the outcome on both has been highly successful. I feel very fortunate to have had Mr. Balaggan as my surgeon. I was fitted in very quickly to have cataract surgery on first one eye and then the other. In order to fit me in we used two different hospitals for the two different eyes but it didn’t seem to be a problem at all. I was able to fit the surgery around my travel plans quite comfortably. I developed a macular hole Summer 2023 and had a vitrectomy and macular hole repair surgery in September 2023. The surgery has closed the hole and I have little to no distortion.
