The JFT team was amazing! They were helpful, responsive, and gave us clear guidance that made a very complicated process a lot easier to navigate! Also, our JFT lawyer was fierce in court!
My housemates and I had been living in an unlicensed HMO and we had a lot of issues with our landlady throughout the year we were there... With JFT's help, we took the matter to court and we were awarded about 80% of a year's rent back! I can honestly say that we could never have done that without JFT's work and their tireless advocacy for tenants' rights!

JFT helped me with an RRO. The process was simple, they handled all of the legal elements and I just needed to fill in the forms and statements they helped provide.
I got one years rent back from an unlicensed landlord and they are people with a genuine desire to help, not just a high street legal team looking to make money.

I had left a bad review as I was unable to contact them.
I had tried calling and emailing but had no luck getting through on the phone and didn’t receive a call back or response to my emails. The emails I had sent were replied to but the reply went into a junk folder, so was missed.

I contacted Justice for Tenants about my daughter’s rights as a new tenant. The gentleman I spoke to (Amir) could not have been more helpful. He was extremely knowledgeable and provided me with advice and options about my daughters situation. I have been able to pursue some avenues otherwise unknown to me in order to progress her grievances. I am very grateful and would not hesitate to contact them again.

I have talked to Citizens Advice and Ombudsman before, but Justice for Tenants were the only ones who seriously analysed our situation and provided incredibly valuable advice. They read our contracts, explained our rights and gave their honest opinion on the situation. It seems that we may not need professional legal help after all thanks to their advice. They are doing an incredibly valuable job protecting tenants' rights in the UK's real estate world where every loophole is a financial opportunity for agents.

I contacted JFT when my landlord decided I wasn’t going to receive any of my deposit. It all started well as JFT ran checks and the property was unlicensed and the landlord unregistered. Then the problems began. Apparently, 14 payments, a tenancy agreement, written proof of the landlord denying me my deposit, an unlicensed property and an landlord who is not registered is not enough to make a claim! This was decided after nearly a year of sending information to them and now my chances are slim because there is a deadline of 12 months since you have left the property to file a claim or so they said. Utter incompetence shown by this firm that takes HALF of the money won at court. If you want justice and your landlord has been reluctant to give you your deposit then I strongly suggest you DO NOT USE Justice for tenants! Take your chances somewhere else or even better if you can afford it use proper solicitors and finance the claim yourself. This was a wrong decision as I was entitled to receive around £4/5000 but I would have been happy just with my deposit money. DO NOT USE Justice for Tenants

Don't stop what you're doing, you were incredibly helpful

I am so grateful to Justice for tenants! I had such an unpleasant experience with my landlady and agency and JFT simplified the whole process of a rent repayment order. They have given me honest advice, stuck through the process, and organised my evidence to take to the tribunal. They were prepared and professional. Throughout the whole process, Alasdair and his team have been exceptional and guided me through it step by step. We have been pushed back because of covid. However, they have kept me in the loop and updated me while we waiting for a tribunal date to be determined. We are yet to hear a decision from the judge but I don't think they could have done any better than they already did! I was extremely pleased with how thorough they have been. I would definitely recommend giving them a call. It's surprising they are not government-funded yet! Such an astonishing service!

I spoke to Matthew over the phone who was incredibly helpful with helping me understand my case and the position I was in. He was extremely knowledgeable even having good knowledge of the defendant's representation and their reputation as well as the contacts within the Tribunal. He helped me feel very confident and much more relaxed about my whole situation as well giving me lots of in depth and helpful advice about the situation in general. Would 100% recommend.

I had issues with my landlord, causing me extra stress during the pandemic that I didn't need. JFT were there for me and provided me with clear, direct advice on how to deal with the problems I faced. Many of the rights we have as tenants we are just unaware of, and landlords and agencies abuse this. I ended up being entitled to a full years rent being repaid to me and bringing a Rent Repayment Order. I would recommend JFT to ANYone who is going through a difficult time with their landlord or agency. They do exactly what their name suggests. If only there were more organisations like them then the UK would be a better place to rent.

I was helping my son and his fellow tenants file rent repayment claim against the landlord for non-HMO. Alisdair continued to help by answering my questions and giving me additional helpful information in emails. His help and encouragement enabled me to serve notice to the correct landlord (which otherwise I do not know would get this far as the landlord hid their identity) and to do the important bundle submissions. He is literally God sent for us!

After the landlord tried to settle out of court which we did not take up, they warned that we might get nothing from the claim. The landlord was very confident of their "high standard of accommodation" with photo evidence and warned that we might get nothing. As guided by Alisdair, I stated the landlord's conduct which included false gas safety certs, hidden id, non-working appliance for most of the year, etc etc along with tenants' conduct of paying up full rent for the whole tenancy.

We have just received the Tribunal's decision. All 5 tenants have been awarded full claim minus minimal landlord expense. This is the best result we could ever wish for but again I reiterate would not have been possible without Alisdair's pointers. I and on behalf of all 5 tenants, sincerely thank JFT and Alisdair. We had an unfortunate situation where a landlord claimed a variety of issues with the premises upon expiry of the lease, eventually ceasing to communicate with us completely. We tried to make use of tenant's liability insurance, but were informed that, due to the landlord having kept the process going for more than 6 months, our options had expired. We then, thankfully, turned to Justice for Tenants. The team were fantastic, keeping us informed as they worked through our situation, then recommending a legal course of action based on clearly defined principles which resulted in the complete recovery of our deposit.
