I think it's a great fit for me as I…

I think it's a great fit for me as I work from home and i use my vehicle far less than I used to. It was straight forward to get started and the app does what it has to do. By the way, I'm a UX/UI Product designer.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed, doing some decorating for my son-in-law who lives approximately 25 miles away. Didn’t expect to be harassed weekly due to the mileage. If I was getting close to the annual 3000 mile limit then I’d expect to be contacted but as I’ve possibly another 2-3 weeks of this then the car will be doing a lot less mileage.
Do Jurny.co.uk plan to reimburse me when my car reverts to normal weekly mileage…???

We are sorry you are feeling very disappointed, and we hope this explains the situation in more detail.

After investigation, we can see you have received our low-balance correspondence via email and text. These messages are in place as a reminder to check your personal online dashboard as your account balance is running low and you need to top up. We send them to all customers to help avoid the policy going into a negative balance.

As you have stated these are not your usual driving habits, your mileage will even out and you simply won't pay when you don't drive. If over the full period of the policy your mileage stays within your annual estimated mileage, it will cost you no more than the estimate we provided.

Quite simply, if you drive less than the estimated annual mileage you provided, it will cost you less than the annual estimate we provided. However, if you drive more, it will cost you more.

One telematics device has to fit all

Telematics device arrived after 6 days. Fitted in OBD port as required. Would only push one third of the way in leaving large part of it, along with the port flap, in amongst my right foot. Car battery ran flat within 24 hours, so reported this to Jurny straight away, was told they would look into it and to return the box to the supplier, only to find today my complaint was being ignored and £100 of my premium is being retained as a set-up fee over the 14 day cooling off period after having only driven 9 miles since taking out the policy on 5th April 2023. BMW main dealer I bought the car from states 1) I should not use the OBD port for tracking devices and 2) BMW only recommend TrackStar devices that can be fitted anywhere in the car. Caught between a rock and a hard place - must give up Jurny policy at a cost of £100 for just a few days cover or lose my BMW warranty if their device drains my battery again.
In response to the reply from Jurny, no options were discussed. Take it or leave it. I have also been charged by BMW for resuscitation of my battery. Have Jurny been sued for damage caused yet in the Small Claims Court?

Good Concept

I think it’s a good idea to pay when you drive currently I’m not driving that much so it suits me.
Staff were very friendly and helpful on the phone, the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I found the concept so new I couldn’t get my head around it.

Terrible car insurance so confusing and…

Terrible car insurance so confusing and amateur. Get charged randomly for miles actually works out more expensive than a normal policy. Stay well away I will be cancelling my policy also a telematics box you have to install. No thanks

JURNY is a pay-per-mile policy and won't suit everyone. It is primarily there for anyone doing low mileage during the year. You are charged for the miles you drive at your quoted rate per mile. The annual estimate you receive at the point of the quote will be based on your monthly fee and your quoted rate per mile for the estimated annual mileage you provided. Quite simply, if you drive less than the estimated annual mileage you provided, it will cost you less than the annual estimate we provided. However, if you drive more, it will cost you more.

When you purchased the policy, you would have been given your price per mile and your annual estimated cost. We also make you aware that a JURNYmeter (black box) must be installed to the vehicle to monitor the miles you drive.

Prior to purchasing the policy, you would have been given all this information upfront, along with accepting the terms and conditions of the policy.

After investigation, we can see you have been sent a notice of cancellation for your No Claims Bonus. We are unable to accept the no-claims bonus as it hasn’t been earnt within the UK.

Unfortunately, the No Claims Bonus outside of the UK is unacceptable. We spoke to you on the phone on 23rd January 2023.

All our cancellation fees are stated within our policy booklet.

I have been driving for years and years…

I have been driving for years and years and have never cancelled insurance before it’s time but they are awful.
Didn’t send me the box to install. Chased it and took ages to hear back and then told to wait until Tuesday which I did. Chased again when it didn’t come and still waiting for a response. In the meantime I get an email with notice of cancellation as I hadn’t fitted said box!!
As I only had one day left to cancel on my own accord I had to do this as they would cancel and it would go against me in future! They also want you to take selfies and upload it to prove it’s you and also ask for evidence of your driving licence.
The small print says if they have posted your box they keep you £100 deposit money! I will fight till the end to get that back as it is not my fault they didn’t get it to me and it is not my fault I had to cancel!! Terrible. Awful.

After investigation, we can see you purchased the policy on 28th March 2023, to begin on 30th March 2023. You spoke to our customer service team in relation to the box, who asked you to allow until Tuesday 11th April for the device to arrive, but if it did not arrive by then let us know so we can give you an extension on time.

The notice of cancellation was issued on 12th April, stating the device needs to be installed before Wednesday 19th April (giving you seven days, not one).

In relation to the selfie, we ask for this to be uploaded to reduce the possibility of fraudulent driving licences being used as we compare the selfie to the driving photocard.

All information related to costs and charges is shown in our policy booklet, including a specific "Fees and Charges" table. Our website and quote journey are very clear on all fees, with there also being a dedicated page on our website: www.jurny.co.uk/fees-and-charges.

It is flexible affordable and seems to be a fair insurance deal. I hope they keep on providing this pay as you drive option as most of the car insurances are extortionately high for none good reason whatsoever.
