Awful company. They fined me $90 for a call out fee even though I was assured that my “Stress Free Cover Plus” would cover all fees for this! On top of this they gave me a car that was on its last legs, obvious scratching along all of the outside of the car, brown stains along the roof interior, ripped back seat covers and the front bonnet was coming out. They clearly don’t care for the customers as much as they do the revenue.

Hired a car from Jucy in Brisbane. Jucy advertised this as a “Toyota Corolla or similar”, with an accompanying picture of a current/late model Corolla. The reality? We were handed the keys to a 2016 Hyundai Accent with nearly 300,000kms on the clock – and it looked like it (bear in mind these models stopped being sold in Australia after 2019). Large chunks of paint missing, signs of having been in accidents (bumper panels not fitting flush), and generally very tired looking. It also came with a mix of cheap ‘n’ very nasty tires (Winrun on the front and Haida – never even heard of this brand – on the rear) that were so bad it was actually very tricky to pull away from a stop in the rain without spinning the front wheels. To boot, the wipers were well past their best and actually made things worse when turned on – the car was borderline roadworthy and certainly outright dangerous in the wet. Oh, and obviously no mod cons such as sat nav or even a reversing camera. And the cost was only marginally lower than bigger, more reputable companies like Avis and Budget. I’ll never try to save money by renting from Jucy again and I’d urge you to do the same after reading about this experience.

Very unhappy with Jucy car rental. The car smelt really really damp but the lady said they didn’t have a other car for us so we drove it for half hour and decided to return it as it was awful, And surprise surprise she found another car for us. However that car had no lumbar support in the passenger seat and by the time we had driven 2 hours we had to stop as my wives back was really hurting from the seat. We purchased a cushion for the seat but it was too late her back was very sore. We carried on with the car and the cushion another 2 hours. And the next day she had to visit a doctor who prescribed pain relief which didn’t help much. As you can imagine being on holiday at the time with lots of plans that had to be canceled due to her hardly being able to move. 3.1/2 weeks of our holiday spoilt by the car with no lumbar support. To top that off when we told the young assistant on the cars return, the assistant thought it was funny and laughed. Needless to say won’t be using jucy again.

The worst Rental provider I have ever used an absolute disgrace, left us stranded at Brisbane Airport for 2 hours told us they were on there way but were actually closed.
Highly recommended Alpha they were great and trustworthy not like Jucy in Brisbane took our money but no refund.
I intend to visit them in person when we return to Brisbane next year and sort out.

Drove worst car ever, geuninely thought it would brake down on the way. The following is what I sent to the feedback team and I received ~$170 back. Never hire a camper with Jucy.
"I can not believe that someone has the audacity to hire our that vehicle, let alone at the rate! That van was built in 2003 and had over 400,000kms on it! It would be cheaper to buy that car and the camping equipment than hire it out from you. We spent ~$1000 on that vehicle for a week and based on what we received it was worth ~$400 max. And the fact that you charge insurance on it is basically criminal. You say our liability is up to $5,000, when it would be cheaper for you to buy a new car. If someone were to have any sort of crash in it, they would be doing you a favour, as it is most likely worth more written off, than it would cost to fix it. I doubt they even make spare parts for that vehicle any more. I was expecting a vehicle from 2014-2017 due to your advertisement on interior fit out, not 2003. At no point while booking the did it state that the age of the vehicle would be more that that. As soon as I saw the age of the vehicle I had immediate safety concerns. No one should be hiring out a car that is over 10 years old without making it clear to the driver the age of the vehicle, let alone 20! To add to it, the seat belts don't snap back so if anyone were to have an accident Jucy would be liable. The condition of the vehicle and the no notice is disgraceful and embarrassing.
Getting past the age and safety concerns, the vehicle itself was in a horrible condition. Some of the issues were as follows:
- There was weird noise coming from back when driving, sounded like a belt is about to snap
- Something smelt like it was burning (that shouldnt be) when engine is running
- Android auto doesnt connect half the time
- Drivers side rear door gets stuck and sometimes autolocks its self
- Passenger side rear door gets stuck
- Bed doesnt fold out properly
- Curtains are missing half there connection studs and are ripped
- Engine makes weird rattling noise
- Ventilation ducts broken
- Drivers side door doesn't stay open
- Rain leaks into the vehicle from the roof
- Heater doesn't work
- Passenger door rattles
- Multiple lights blown (Need high beam on to drive at night safely)
Jucy needs to remove that car from its fleet and set expectations while booking. Cutting the charge for hire in half (at minimum) should also be on the radar."

High mileage car (~380k km) that has a stink of mould/damp that we can't get rid of even with a Repco smelly. Friends could smell it as we pulled up.
I don't think there is a panel that isn't dented or scratched.
It was cheap, but the above along with the pickup issues I think I'd spend more next time.

My wife and I had the most terrible experience with JUCY. The 1 star is for the amazing employee that stayed a bit late past closing time when our Greyhound bus was running late to allow us to still pick up our vehicle. Otherwise it would be 0. The rest... You tell me how they did...
We rented a campervan from Brisbane to Sydney. Once the employee left, we realized that the port which the GPS connects to didn't work. We were relying on this as we were traveling without phone plans so already couldn't get to all the little spots we wanted to as didn't have directions.
The real issue though was that about an hour into our trip, it just absolutely poured with rain the entire trip. Upon arriving in Byron Bay, we discovered a leak in our roof and my entire bag and all my clothes were drenched to start our 4 day trip. That, and my entire side of the bed was wet. Brutal. I couldn't call JUCY because they were closed, but also we were on a tight deadline with all our campsites booked and there were no locations between Byron Bay and Sydney to change a van over in. Woke up throughout the night with my entire bottom side of the bed soaked right through the sheets, seat, etc. All it did was rain, and all that happened was our stuff, sleeping area and van were getting wetter and wetter. We spent our trip hiding out in underground parking garages for hours at a time just to have breaks from getting wet. I spent countless hours with our sheets in dryers, clothes being held under handheld dryers in washrooms and not enjoying a single part of our trip. After a couple days, using gum, some duct tape I found and a reusable shopping bag, I was able to stop the leak.. so I thought. All seemed better in the back but when I went to sit in the front seat the next day, I must have sat in 2 inches of water. It simply diverted the water and I spent all my time from then on sitting on garbage bags.
I booked many aspects of my trip through an outside agency, including having them book JUCY for me. They reached out to the company multiple times on my behalf. THEY EVEN SHARED THE VIDEO I TOOK showing the roof clearly leaking all over everything. I also shared pictures of my gum/bag/duct tape job on the outside and inside of the car.
In the end, even after increasing their offer once, they only refunded $120 out of almost $800 in rental costs. The company who helped me book this felt so bad that THEY REFUNDED me an additional $80.
JUCY stated that since 80% of the vehicle was still in functioning order, they should keep 80 % of my money. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME. Anyone in customer service with half a brain on their head would say within 3 seconds that this is not acceptable, and absolutely all your money will be refunded. The van serves as your accommodation!!!!! Imagine a hotel leaking water from the ceiling on your bed for 4 days straight. They wouldn't say, "Hey your bathroom and TV still worked so we will keep 80 percent out of your money"
They even stated the $120 was a "gesture of goodwill" and they hoped I will give them a chance to exceed their expectations in the future. SERIOUSLY? Bottom line, JUCY failed in the biggest way, even with clear video evidence showing how terrible our experience was.
The engine light was also on the whole trip which created a bit of anxiety. While it's a cool idea to camp in these vans, they are all quite old and have a ton of miles on them. I am sure many people have issues with their vans and I can't even imagine what they would or wouldn't do if you got stranded.
In the end, get a rental car, take a flight, hitchhike, do a ride share, stay in a hostel, sleep on the beach, or pay the extra for a hotel. Shame on JUCY for trying to even justify for a second any keeping of even a cent of my money.
I only wish I could upload the video of the leak. It didn't stop leaking for 4 straight days.

Appalling customer service, unexpectedly well used car with 238,000 kms on the clock. Do not provide your customers with unexpectedly negative surprises.

In the car started popping up the oil signal and it had been three days until they swap it. Not only that, they made us come 12h and a half to their branch in Brisbane in a toll truck (which was bringing two more cars before, so it took ages to arrive in that more than unconfortable vehicle). It was insane!
It’s really difficult getting in touch with them, even if you are in trouble, and the “help” they give you, it’s not the one that a serious company would give to anyone.

See previous comment. Your staff did, after some discussion, switch us to another vehicle that had only done 200,000km, but it too has suffered some hardship over its life.

The price and value were what drew us in initially but after our flight was delayed Pedro in the Brisbane office made us feel truly valued and special, made sure we knew what was needed from us and stayed late to make sure we could pick up or rental. Would highly recommend Jucy for car rental in Brisbane.
