Handed over 245€ deposit: owner vanished
While things started out well with the initial rental process and the boat being in good shape, I encountered some issues that I believe you should be aware of.
I had no problem giving a 250 euro cash deposit upfront as security – that seemed standard. The trouble came afterward when the owner said he'd come by the next day to check the boat due to his busy schedule.
Despite having a full day in between, the owner never showed up as promised. We even let him know we'd be leaving the city the day after, and he assured us he'd sort things out before our check-out time.
But that didn't happen. When we tried to talk to him about it, he not only avoided our concerns but also blocked us on WhatsApp, cutting off communication completely.
It starts to make sense when you find out this company only just started around April this year. They've taken over the Facebook page of a phone repair shop that had good reviews. If you scroll back, you'll see that boat rentals under this new company have barely even happened.
It's become evident that both the company and the owner aren't trustworthy. It's disheartening to see that they seem more interested in quick money-grabs rather than honest rental service.
