We are planning a new patio using composite decking. Llewelyn Hughes at Jewsons in Aberaeron, helped us establish both what materials and quantities and worked out a good price for us. We would definitely recommend.

Absolutely brilliant service. Great delivery driver from Jewson Preston Raglan Street. Well experienced gentleman delivered my bricks and put them exactly where I wanted them. Gem of a guy. 5 star service. Well recommended builders merchants.

Hired a floor sanding kit, after reading around, watching YouTube guides etc. The kit wasn’t available at short notice from my most local Jewsons, but the central tool hire office ladies were incredibly helpful and proactive and found one at another branch a short distance away. So I picked up the big drum sander and a disc edging sander from the Waltham Abbey branch, plus lots of paper (on sale or return) The guys handing the kit over couldn’t be been more helpful. The kit worked fine, and I got the job done. Due to my own inexperience I caused a bit of damage to a part on the drum sander, and pointed it out on return. The guy thanked me for my honesty and said it was absolutely no problem. I got all my deposit back. Very good value, and a very good experience.

£13 for a bag of multi Finnish. What a scam

Hiring a barrow for one day. Invoicing completely wrong. They took a deposit of £50. Went back to the branch (Slateford, Edinburgh) twice. They invoiced me for a week instead of one day. The branch could not reimburse me despite taking the deposit. It had to be approved by the area manager who was on holiday. Took a month to sort and even then was about £3 wrong. It is ridiculous that the branch was not authorised to reimburse for a mistake. Jewsons need to get into the real world.

We live up a narrow steep driveway. We met Steve at the bottom and showed him where he might have a problem. He looked at the situation and came up with aa few options. Yes he should be able to get up to our gate. He was friendly from the start and positve. A few minutes later he was at our gate and dropping off 3 dumpy bags of gravel. We have had other drivers from other companies give up quickly. Steve saved us hours of work having to go to the bottom of our drive. He is a credit to Jewsons. Fantastic service.

The delivery driver was unhelpful, and although there was ample space on my drive to fit the pallets of sand/ cement/ blocks he had parked poory and delivered such that the pavement was partly blocked. He then said their systems were down so couldnt give me a delivery note. Later I found not everything had been delivered. Fortunately we were able to collect the missing items from store. During delivery, he also managed to damage a cover on my soakaway drain by delivering on to it (was not noticed till the pallet was eventually moved) and I have been unable to find a matching replacement. Most disappointed and would not recommend.

The most aggressive company I have ever dealt with. I hired a floor Sander for 1 week. I called on the 5th day for a return. Was told to wait 3 days for collection. After 4 days I call back and am told I never called so I will be charged 2 weeks hire. Then highly aggressive Hammersmith manager tells me I am lying because I don't quite get the name right (my phone logs are not proof apparently). Then personally comes to collect the sander and says the cable is marked. My £157 hire gets charged as a £584 hire. Please, go anywhere else but Jewson... (small claim coming your way).

31 Oct update: Jewson reacted well. Same person came and worked out the problem with me. They refunded me for the extra week of hire that I had never taken. Was still an expensive hire but at least the unnecessary charges have been removed which I am grateful for.

An utter rip of merchant. If it wasnt for the need to save an hour travelling across town... I'd have gone elsewhere. Even B&Q are way cheaper for most products. Sent my lad in for a bag of drywall adhesive and a can of foam... The guy behind the counter said he's done us a favour knocking a couple of £'s off. My normal supplier does it for almost half the price.

Was given a price of £140 to hire a single deck 9m tower scaffolding that was due to arrive at 8am but was canceled by the branch at 11am I then arrange to be delivered the next day to then have it arrive hours late again and to be sent a double deck tower that set me back half a day to work with what was delivered not ideal then after it had been collected I have now had to pay £204 total as they decided to add delivery fees and vat after the price of £140 was given was told I would be given a discount for these issues to still be charged full price worst service iv had from any supplier to hire

I was on holiday one of there lorries hit my car that was parked in it own parking space it was hit by the hiab driver left details admitting what he done there was also witnesses this was on 2/09/24 i have rang so many times but just get another excuse now its 07/10/24 and still no sense out of them disgusting

Came into bury branch, on Saturday.
Janine and Dean was excellent.
Professional and knowledgeable, customer experience was great.
Definitely will be returning.

Ordered 16 concrete blocks online for delivery paid 40 pounds for delivery. more than the value of the order but more than happy to pay for the convenience however the delivery arrived late afternoon. £40 I could’ve made multiple trips to and from their depot. When ordering online their website needs to state that the delivery date and time does not guarantee morning delivery very disappointed with the conversation with the local branch as they basically said it is what it is as they have no control over the pricing of delivery from the Internet I would advise nobody to order and have delivery done via online sales.

I was riding my bike (17/9/24) on Dean lane in hazel grove which has a dedicated cycle lane and footpath when I found a jewsons delivery lorry parked on the cycle lane and it's hydraulic support arms blocking the footpath, if I had not noticed very quickly the arms which are head high I could have been seriously injured as I took to the footpath to avoid going into oncoming traffic, there were no warning signs or any indication of unloading of big bags of aggregate happening.
When I voiced my concerns to the jewson driver guess what I was told it was tough and was aggressive and very unhelpful.
The builders then joined in and I got verbally abused. I will be reporting this to the HSE who hopefully will look into this incident

Two amazing staff from Hayle Cornwall, helped me and my family drive our vandalised car. These individuals who helped wrap and tape the rear window screens are an asset to Jewsons and society. I’ve never used Jewsons before, but will be my first choice from now. Thanks both

After being very let down by HSS hire who had forgotten to take a booking and then showed no interest in helping we contacted Jewsons who could mit have been more helpful! Would not hesitate to use Jewsons as their customer service is second to none!!!

Needed to hire a cement mixer. Called a local branch near Wolverhampton who transferred me to Walsall's branch. Was told they would get a quote back to me, same day, so we at our company could process it and order one. This would have been an ongoing thing. No call back. So I tried numerous times to get through - no joy. I called the branch the next day and was promised they would get a couple of quotes back and apologised for the inconvenience. Guess what? Our company which is worldwide believe in customer satisfaction and this is as bad as it gets. It's shame I had to leave 1 star. We won't deal with Jewson's again.

Twice as expensive to hire than any other hire company. Delivery/collection charges were more costly than the hire of a mixer for a day (£15 for each 5-mile trip). They did not disclose delivery charges at the point of hire. Most other hire companies offer free delivery.

Jewsons have since refunded me £18 following a moan from a relative who has a builders account with them. However, even with this, the total hire costs were still far higher than elsewhere.

I have only been dealing with Jewson’s at the Brasted branch for the last 6-weeks but can only say how impressed I have been with the staff there, in particular Molly for all her help and assistance. Also one of the most pleasant delivery drivers I have ever met. First class company.

Never did any kind of block paving and I and my partner needed some help. I can't fault the guy that help us. Customer service brillant.
