After making it clear you need to give them 2 weeks notice about wanting to quit.I gave them 4 to which they replied after the ten day period, which they say they reply within.
They now wanf to pay an extra months membership, even though an informed within plenty of time. And gave the real reason for it i've had an accident and I can't physically go to the gym.

Reading Gym

The good
Lots of space over two floors with lots of nice new machines. So I never had to wait for a machine, and I can get my workout done. There is also a small sauna in the changing room with is a nice benefit.

The bad
I am VERY uncomfortable that JD Gyms hasn't banned mobile phones in the changing rooms, and that they encourage selfies, with signs on the mirrors telling people to be mindful only. This is where I shower and I expect privacy.

Many people treat the gym as their own personal space and they take phone calls when working out which is very distracting. Again, phones are encouraged and staff are not visible to intervene. Changing rooms are also small and become cramped quickly, with people leaving wet drinks on the benches.

I also hate that I have to generate a QR code to leave the gym, at the very least it should be a button. I am shocked this is allowed as if the QR doesn't work - and sometimes it is temperamental, I am stuck. What would happen if there were to be a fire

The cycle parking is badly designed, once a car parks next to it, it is VERY difficult to retrieve my bike because there is no space. Only the two most outer parking stands are usable.

Cancellation rules are VERY unclear. 30 days notice would have meant that I would have had to cancel before I joined, and you have to submit a form which could take 10 days. They do it this way to get another month from you. It's not clear if 30 days applies to the no-contract monthly payments or just the fixed?

Easy to get to staff are great excellent gym.

Having trained at a few gyms around Reading, JD Gyms is on another level. The facility is big, modern, and spotless. Plenty of racks, benches, and Hammer Strength machines, plus a massive cardio section. The dedicated glute area is something you don’t really see elsewhere locally, and the sauna just tops it off. Easy access and parking too.

Good gym, excellent space.

Great gym, lovely staff and fantastic facilities. Moved here from another gym recently and never looked back and the sauna makes it all worth it!

Amazing gym, PTs are very supportive and super friendly. Jason really motivates us to go harder
