Spacious gym with a great offering of facilities. Lots of equipment. Friendly staff and clean facilities too. Personal trainer Tyler is very good, with a wealth of knowledge to help achieve your goals.

Only joined a week ago
Only joined a week ago, but impressed with the amount of equipment available, even when it's busy there is plenty to use. The gym itself is clean and airy (although, as always in any gym, the free weights are often in disarray - but this is down to members!). Haven't used the toilet or changing facilities yet so can't comment. Occasionally the door doesn't open when scanning the QR code and it can take a while, but other than that, everything is great.

Reviews are confusing
Reviews are confusing, As with JD Gym, you'll find people giving McDonalds 5 star. Experience is subjective. JD Gym isn't the problem for the most part, its a minority of the patrons disrespecting simple etiquette and the lack of any effort from the staff. The fact JD head office care little to nothing, they'll just run a £10 joining fee month over ensure returning customers through satisfaction.

A faling apart and lack of staffed building.
Considering it boasts about being being redone and how amazing the new set up etc is, the machines were broken and the timer the woman's sauna was buggered too.
My first visit, I struggled scanning my QR code to enter and I could not find a single staff member.
When after 10 minutes of struggling, it finally scanned, as someone who never came to the gym before, there was no-one there to guide me, especially when every machine I went on was broken one way or another.
If it wasnt the closest gym to me (someone who doesn't drive) I would have cancelled and gone else where.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to experience issues with equipment, difficulty scanning in, and not being able to find a member of staff to help guide you as a new user.
If you ever have trouble accessing the gym again, there is a green buzzer near the entrance which alerts the team for assistance. The gym team may not always be immediately visible as they can be out on the gym floor or carrying out duties, but they should be available to help when needed. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience.

To me this is by far the best gym in derby. The size and unbelievable amount of equipment they have is just unmatched. The use of the space is perfect and every time I am there I have seen cleaners keeping everything is great order. I would highly recommend this gym. With added bonuses it’s open 24 hours and also have a good class time table.

The gym itself is very spacious
The gym itself is very spacious. My experience was okay.
The car parking is inadequate. There was a strong smell of cannabis and this has been consistent every time I’ve visited.
Also, the changing rooms are very dirty. It would appear that people do not know how to use the bins.

2 trainers 2 approaches
I had a great LBT session but the Pilates session was a bit awkward. The trainer didn't acknowledge presence of anybody new and just interacting with people she knew. Not even a hello. Comparing the two sessions I have had so far, they were apples and oranges, just in terms of the trainers.
