The PTs are phenomenal. Always go above and beyond and that cleaner- unreal. She’s spot on. Atmosphere is unmatched and just overall very happy being part of the gym.

Absolutely love this gym, the members are friendly, every single member of staff are helpful whenever needed, it’s clean & the management are all approachable especially Kai.
Excellent place to workout.

PT’s are amazing, and all staff are really friendly and helpful! Will always help if you need advice or support with a machine.

Only negative is there is not enough air con, gym can be very hot! an extra bonus would be more stair masters!

Great gym, friendly staff and amazing facilities. Joined 2/3 years ago with no confidence, couldn’t have asked for better help than from Ben who guided me through bootcamp classes. Super approachable and friendly. Provided a great knowledgeable and trusting service and allowed me to feel confident in enquiring for 1.1 personal training sessions.
2 years down the line, and weekly sessions together - Ben has provided me with consistent and knowledgable personal training. Not only helping my physical health but also my mental health. Couldn’t ask for better. If you’re looking for a Personal trainer with class, personality and a sound knowledge of fitness - he’s your guy!

The members of staff are always polite. The gym has all equipment for if you wanted to mix up your training weather your training for weights, cardio, hyrox or callisthenics. All the equipment is really good and well looked after.

Lovely gym, it’s always nice and clean despite having busy times during certain hours. The staff are really friendly and easy to get along with.

JD Bury is going downhill with awful management laughing at members who are trying to workout, akin to school playground bullying. I’ve just completed a JD timetabled class on the gym floor and the equipment was signed with laminated cards as in use for the class. The manager and 2 PTs were stood leaning on equipment and making comments and laughing at the class as we were pushing a sled with a laminated sign on - at the end of class I went over to them, as they were still leaning on equipment, and mentioned that members are at different stages of their fitness journey and hearing JD staff laughing at them while doing a JD led class could be incredibly off putting, especially as people can be nervous on the gym floor. The 2 PTs were very respectful and apologised but the manager wouldn’t even look at me and kept swinging a wet floor sign staring into the distance - very very bizarre behaviour. It’s a shame the wet floor sign isn’t in use as the gym has been very grubby recently, dirty equipment and nothing to wipe them down with, your hands are visibly dirty if you do any workouts which require contact with the floor, the equipment is never put away, there are brown stains around the drinking water taps and the aircon never works. The only saving grace at this gym is the fantastic studio classes and instructors - if you want to feel comfortable and get a great workout at this gym I’d recommend bypassing downstairs completely.

No air conditioning again! The air conditioning in the JD Bury gym hardly ever works. We constantly ask staff why it's not on and they don't even know themselves. With the current high outside temperatures, you can imagine how unbearable it is in there at the moment. Please get the air con fixed! It's unhygienic, it's unsafe and we don't pay all that membership fee to enter a stale and ridiculously hot gym. I do like this gym but if it carries on without air con I will have to reconsider which gym I attend.

The gym is unbearable at the moment, the air conditioning is broken, it’s been broken for over a month, nothing has been done. I have heard several people complain/ask why the air conditioning is never on. Nothing is ever done about it by management. I had to leave the gym to get some air mid workout. I’ve been avoiding going as it’s really unhygienic and not enjoyable to work out in at all. There isn’t even anything to clean the equipment down with!

The air conditioning. Please it needs fixing. It’s always breaking and it’s the summer, with heat waves and the air conditioning it broken again. It’s unsafe and it’s unbearable. People are dropping in sweat and it’s unhygienic

Currently trying to train at the gym but the conditions are unbearable as the air conditioning is broken again. How difficult is it to repair it? The membership fees have increased again in the past couple of months by around 18% and double since the gym first opened yet there is no investment in facilities for members and doesn’t represent value for money when members are having to leave the gym within an hour of coming in because the temperature literally makes you feel ill. The equipment is always covered in sweat and you would think given the air conditioning isn’t working the gym would at the very least make sure they have some cleaners in to make sure they keep the equipment clean for members but there are no cleaners in sight.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Incredible HIIT Sessions with Jayne!
I’ve been attending Jayne’s Tuesday and Thursday 6:30am HIIT sessions at JD Gyms in Bury for the past two years, and I can honestly say they are life-changing. Jayne brings an energy to every class that’s infectious—she’s absolutely bursting with enthusiasm and positivity, and she somehow manages to push us to our limits while making it all feel fun and rewarding.
Her sessions have massively improved my fitness levels and played a huge part in helping me manage my blood pressure. I always leave feeling like I’ve had a proper workout—and I mean really worked—but I’m also buzzing from the motivation and atmosphere she creates. Whether you’re a regular or new to HIIT, Jayne makes everyone feel welcome while keeping the intensity high and the results real.
I can’t recommend her HIIT sessions enough. Two years in, and I still look forward to every single session. Jayne is an absolute gem and her HIIT classes are the highlight of my week!

I attend the 06.30 spin classes on a Monday and Wednesday with instructor Jayne Deakin. The time of the classes is perfect for me as I can go straight on to work after the gym. Jayne is extremely motivational and I really enjoy her classes. I have been going to these classes as part of my fitness routine for the last year at least and been a member of JD since June 2022.

I attend the 06.30 classes with instructor Jayne Deakin. She is an amazing instructor and very motivational. Her classes are brilliant. I have been going to Jayne’s classes for 8 weeks and I am getting fitter each week. She is a fabulous instructor. Thank you Jayne.

I go to classes 6/8 times a week. Which makes membership really good value. Shout out to Jayne. Anne-Michelle and Kim for their consistent enthusiasm. I'm overweight and way past retirement! This gym is very inclusive.

The classes are what makes this gym. Jayne’s morning classes, especially HIIT and HIIT step are incredible and a great way to start the day during the week. The bootcamp classes are also great for Hyrox style! Only reason I actually have this gym membership is for the classes - they’re so much better than elsewhere

Recently moved out of Bury so using JD in middelton but the classes just don’t HIT the same as Jayne Deakin’s. Especially Tuesday morning HIT!! Jayne always keeps it fun and high energy so always manage to burn 250+ cals and be aching the next day (all in 30mins). I love how it incorporates weights and super sets through out. More 6:30am classes just like this please!!

Love the classes especially Jayne Deakin’s classes she is a wicked instructor and you come out feeling like you have really worked out

Highly recommend doing Jayne deakins classes especially her hiit class on a Tuesday morning, she always encourages us to hit our targets. She makes the classes enjoyable especially so early in the morning. I’ve been going consistently for two years. Shes the reason why I join jd gym☺️
