Terrible customer support!
Terrible customer support!! CHANGE YOUR MANAGER, Mr. LATHISH! HE WAS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!
I had an absolutely terrible experience when I went to request a replacement for my faulty iPhone 16 Pro Max—a device that came with a manufacturing defect
First Mistake:
Apple Support scheduled my service appointment for 10:00 AM, and I reached the iPlanet service center sharp at 10:00 AM—only to find the shutters down and the store closed. There was a note saying they would open at 10:30 AM. Then why the hell did Apple schedule my appointment at 10 AM?
I waited 30 minutes outside, frustrated, and finally entered the service center when it opened.
Second Mistake – "Repair Only" for a Defective Device? Are You Joking?!
I explained my issue to the support staff—my iPhone, just six days old and barely used for 10 hours, had suddenly developed a white screen issue while using WhatsApp. And guess what? They told me it cannot be replaced, only repaired!
Why should I accept a repair for a faulty device that Apple sold me?! The phone was in perfect physical condition, and I had handled it with extreme care (because, of course, I paid more than a lakh rupees for it!). The support staff had no answer to this—they just stood there speechless.
Third Mistake – The Manager’s Arrogance & Rudeness!
Since the staff was helpless, I asked to speak with the manager, Mr. Lathish. They told me he was at the bank and would arrive in 20 minutes. Fine, I was already wasting my day, so I waited.
After 30 minutes, he finally arrived. I was sitting in the support lounge area, waiting for my turn. When I asked him if we could go to his cabin to discuss the issue privately, he rudely refused and insisted we talk right there.
Fine! I asked him to at least sit near me so we could discuss things properly, and again, he rudely rejected my request, saying, "You sit, I’m fine here."
That was already disrespectful, but then he went further! When my wife—who was with me—tried to explain the situation, he rudely interrupted and said, "Only the owner should speak." Excuse me?! He could have said that politely, but no—he spoke as if we were beneath him!
Fourth Mistake – Blaming Me Without Any Proof!
I explained what happened—that the white screen issue appeared suddenly while I was browsing WhatsApp—and I even had all the proof. But without even checking the device properly, he straight-up accused me of pressing the screen too hard!
WHAT?! He didn’t even investigate, didn’t listen properly, didn’t test the device, and yet, he blamed me and immediately rejected the replacement request! He said they would only give me a test report, and I would have to take it to iCentral (where I purchased the phone) myself. So basically, they dumped the problem back on me!
So, I took the report to iCentral, and they said the process would take seven days, with no guarantee of a replacement! I am beyond frustrated at this point.
The Real Problem – Mr. Lathish’s Disrespectful Attitude!
This entire situation was already frustrating, but what pushed me over the edge was the way Mr. Lathish treated us.
He did not listen to my issue properly.
He jumped to conclusions without proper investigation.
He spoke rudely and showed zero empathy.
He didn’t even acknowledge my frustration—not even a simple “Sorry for the inconvenience.”
How did iPlanet hire such an incompetent and disrespectful manager?!
The other staff members were polite, and I could see that even they knew I was right and understood my frustration. But they were helpless.
Final Thoughts
This entire incident happened on March 1, 2025. iPlanet staff, go check your CCTV footage (10 AM - 12 PM)! I wasted my entire day, paid for my phone in cash, and yet this manager didn’t even bother to listen to me properly.
SHAME on iPlanet for hiring such an unprofessional manager
SHAME on Apple for having such a terrible service
Let me be clear:
I had issues ONLY with Manager Lathish! The other staff members were at least respectful
I will be escalating this matter further with Apple bcz this is completely unacceptable!
