To be avoided if you want any control over costs
It should be avoided if you are looking for a freight forwarding company that is reliable and transparent.
I have worked with many freight forwarding companies, some good, some not good, but all better than Interport. The spot price of sea freight changes, and there are, of course, trucking fees. These are all manageable when you work with a competent forwarding company. Interport is slow to pick up inventory (weeks late), so gate-in dates are missed. They are slow to book delivery dates, meaning trailer/truck costs also blow out. I found I needed to chase them to do their job constantly.
Their quoting is also very dishonest. Once viewed as a client, your quotes go through the roof. One example of this was an LCL shipment quoted at ~ 3.5K USD. This wasn't practical for us, and so it was declined. They immediately found another magical solution for 1,500 USD.... without an explanation of what had changed.
My last sea freight consignment cost ~ 3.5K USD more than it should have simply due to slow and incompetent staff.
They are dishonest and incompetent and should be avoided.
