I also love the breakdown of the composer creative process into three "voices": "Artist", "Artisan" and "Critic"--so helpful to me (and, also helping to CRUSH any lingering writer's block!!) by dividing one's workflow into these categories, as well as the "creative journal' tactic, the "modeling" of one's favorite composers' techniques, and (amazingly--and even, perhaps, transformationally liberating--to me) the method of INTENTIONALLY USING RESTRICTIONS (i.e., in number/type of instruments, pitches, rhythmic meter, etc...!!) to tactically (and almost instantly, I think) INCREASE inspiration and musical productivity, and, again, to simply CRUSH WRITER'S BLOCK!!!
