Gerry & Laura are genuinely wonderful. From start to finish they were great communicators, kept me up to date with each step of my mortgage application. 10/10 service. Of note they were very knowledgeable about NHS pay scales/contracts, eco mortgages and first time buyers. At time of writing they offer a ‘no customer fee’ for NHS workers - amazing! From start to finish I had a fully fledged application and quote in 2days, and approved mortgage in 3 days.

Gerry at the Independent Mortgage Store was incredibly helpful, offering us clear, expert advice and patiently answering our questions to help us understand the process and the products on offer. Homebuying and mortgages can be complicated and stressful, so Gerry's help was really appreciated. We would definitely go to them again in future.

I recently used the services of Independent Mortgage Store. The process was straightforward and the staff were professional. They addressed my queries promptly and provided detailed information. While it wasn't exceptionally remarkable, the experience was satisfactory. I appreciated their clear communication and efficiency in handling my mortgage needs.

Paul and his team have organised my mortgage since I bought my first flat in 1999. They have always found amazing deals that offered lower rates or better features. As a result of their advice, we have just paid our mortgage off two years later and saved thousands of pounds in interest by using the linked offset savings account. I can't thank Independent Mortgage Store enough!

I cannot thank Lewis and the team enough. I came with a mess of finances a good but not great credit score and being self employed - in a pandemic, just as the bank of England goes crazy with the interest rates!!! Lewis took it all in his expert stride and guided me clearly and with calmness through a process he made very very easy and lovely. I never thought i'd own my own home and Lewis made this possible and through a high street lender no less.

Paul McGowan was my mortgage advisor and was extremely helpful. Was always available to answer questions either by phone or email. I am a first time buyer and a complicated situation-having moved back to the UK from years of living in the US-being self-employed as well-its wasn't straight forward to figure everything out. He was extremely patient and talked me through the buying process and what was needed at each step. Very grateful for his time and expertise.

Apologies for the delay in writing this review. I have put the date of experience as 8 April 2022 as this was the last telephone/email contact with Lewis Campbell at the Independent Mortgage Store. I would highly recommend Lewis and the Mortgage Store for independent advice. I found the process of securing a mortgage surprisingly easy thanks to Lewis. Lewis was attentive and both telephoned and emailed me with diligence and care as well as timeously, answering all queries I had about the mortgage process as a first time buyer. He thoroughly explained the mortgage process to me and managed to find the second best mortgage rate that was going in Feb/March 2022 (this was before the war in Ukraine had come to full fruition). Lewis went to the efforts of discussing all the different options I had with respect to the mortgage term/ the effects on monthly payments/ the different rates and what that would mean for me. Lewis also discussed life insurance and other types of insurance with me and even followed it up with an email summary to allow me to review this and refer back to it which I done recently in order to start making a decision about this. There has been a lot to do with my new property so it has been useful to come back to Lewis' email to refresh my memory. I would highly recommend him and also Paul McGowan who I spoke to briefly at the start of my mortgage application journey and who was also pleasant. I spent time and energy explaining all the details they requested and on two different occasions they just stopped getting back to me. Disappointing

This company completely wasted my time. I spent time completing all the documentation they sent me and they didn’t get back to me. I went elsewhere.

I am so glad I chose to go with Independant Mortgage Store for my first property. As a first time buyer I did not know what to expect and Paul and Laura were so helpful. They gave me all the information I needed and were so friendly along the way. They really went the extra mile in getting me a much better mortgage than I could have expected - the customer service was brilliant. All in all, the team were wonderful and made the whole process much less stressful than I thought it would be. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have recently used Paul at the Independent Mortgage Store and I am more than happy to say that the level of service I received was fantastic. No question went un-answered and explained well. Regular contact throughout the whole process made my transaction so easy.....and I saved money!! Would highly recommend this company.

Paul McGowan has been my go-to mortgage adviser for the last 28 years. I don't move a muscle on the property market without running things past him first. His knowledge is immense- buying, selling, mortgages, investing - he's all there. What I especially appreciate is that his business is truly independent with no hidden agenda. He is not sales driven; if it's not in your best interests to buy a product from him, then it's No Sale. This happened recently as I applied to remortgage a property. We ran into complications and higher set up costs than anticipated. Paul confirmed my gut decision it was better to sell the property rather than remortgage. I have referred several friends to him over the years - they are always pleased with the advice they receive.

For the past 23 years my wife and I have been using Paul and his team, for mortgages and remortgages etc. which included our first mortgage as a young newly married couple, when Paul was on hand to guide us through that daunting time. There has never been any occasion when the IMS has not worked with 100% professionalism and a personal touch. I would recommend Paul and the service he provides, as I have done to a number of friends and colleagues over those years. I look forward to using the IMS in the future whenever the need arises.

I decided to buy my first home this year and contacted Paul at the Independent Mortgage Store. He couldn’t have been more helpful. He kept me informed every step of the way and never made me feel like a burden when asking questions. He gave sound advice and explained my options very well so I felt in control of my decisions and not blindly leading. I dealt with a few other members of staff through my process and I can confirm that this is the standard of service they all have. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I had no stress thanks to them.
