I paid £40 (the isn’t stated on their offer until you contact them) for what was supposed to be an appointment/deposit, only to get there and have him look at my teeth for less than 3 minutes using a wooden spatula. No photographs, no X-rays, nothing.
He then told me he couldn’t treat my teeth because he only does minimal and cosmetic work. I even provided previous scans and imaging from another consultation, which had been completely free, but he still said he didn’t know what to do. He then asked me to copy and paste the treatment plan from another dental clinic I had previously seen and where I’ve now had my braces done. When I couldn’t access it, he refused to refund me.
So basically, he took £40 to look at my teeth for less than 3 minutes, tell me he couldn’t fix the issue, and then refuse to give me my money back.
Mind you, this is the first and only dentist who has ever said he didn’t know where to attach braces to two of my teeth. I had never heard that before. The only reason I went to him was because I was looking for a cheaper option — something I now regret.
In my experience, reputable businesses usually charge a lesser consultation fee that either goes towards treatment, is refunded if you opt out/they cannot provide the service, or is only forfeited if you miss your appointment. With this person, however, it felt like there was only one guaranteed outcome: him keeping my £40, regardless of whatever
