HSL Chairs - Southampton Recensioni 

My wife and I visited HCL in Hedge End on Tuesday, 4th August 2026 to try out some new armchairs, with a view to improving our comfort at home. We were met by Germaine, who discussed our individual needs and took the time to show us a range of differing chairs so we could choose the most comfortable option for each of us.

Due to our different requirements, it transpired that my wife and I needed two different models. Germaine possessed excellent knowledge to guide us through the various options and was incredibly attentive throughout. She ended up spending an hour and a half with us and even provided tea and refreshments.We ended up purchasing two chairs (Order No: SOOM2670). Fantastic service from start to finish!

Very good customer service at the New Forest show. Post sales service non existent. I telephoned Southampton branch with two queries on 30 July at about 9:30. Promised a call back with the answers by midday. Still no response at close of business 5 August. HSL errors, why should I chase for answers?

Everyone in the shop was very friendly and took a great deal of trouble to find the chairs most suited to our needs. There was no hard sell and we left the shop feeling we had made the right choice.

Amazing service, amazing products, excellent durability and large selection of fabrics and leathers. I needed a new 3 seater sofa and I opted for Lucca that not only reclines, it also has neck and lumbar settings on the electric controls. It can also be placed close to the wall as it does the back of the frame stays still and the seat section moves when reclining the back. As they are trained by Occupational Therapist they check you are supported correctly when the legs are raised, your knees stay at 90 deg when sat with your feet on the floor and have a large selection of chairs and sofas. The durability of their products are phenomenal and I didn't even bother to go to any other furniture shops as I wanted their outstanding products. I am currently waiting for an extension to be built for my elderly dad as he has one of their riser/recliner chairs in the Grande. They were the only company I found that do special chairs for people of 6' and my dad is 6'4" and the massive arm chair is perfect but once the extension is built my dad and his chair will be moving so I will need further seating and I am going straight back to HSL.

Found my wife and I two chairs the same but different size to suit us both. Although they were having problems with the computer system that day and a couple of errors occurred they sorted them out the next morning. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Have to wait until the chairs arrive but up to now very pleased.

This is a very friendly, helpful company who are a pleasure to deal with. Patricia at the Eastleigh branch was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble and we were looked after extremely well. We did have to wait 10 weeks for delivery but this was explained when we purchased them. Unfortunately 5 minutes after they were delivered, one of the chairs developed a fault and although we were disappointed, these things happen and a week later Neil arrived to repair it. The chairs are supremely comfortable and HSL a great firm to deal with, even phoning to check we were happy after the repair. You couldn't be better looked after anywhere. Thank you

Bought it. Fabulous experience. Can’t wait to get it.

First meeting was informative, no pressure selling and we left with a proposed cost and details of our future purchase.
On returning to confirm our order we were given incorrect information that came apparent later when we were required to pay final payment.
Ask again a month after delivery to see if our chairs have lived up to our expectations.

Charmaine was great, explained everything clearly and it was a pleasure. A glass of water on a hot day too.

Most disappointing, I'm afraid. The atmosphere was rather unpleasant, and it felt as though the staff would have preferred to be anywhere else. What upset me most was overhearing a manager making unkind remarks about my weight, even joking that I might break a chair. Such behaviour is deeply unprofessional and entirely unacceptable. Courtesy and respect cost nothing, yet they seemed sadly lacking here. I certainly shall not be returning.

What a pleasure to find a company that is happy to help, does not push for sales and clearly know their business. The staff at The Hedge End shop were extremely helpful and went to a lot of trouble to provide us with every bit of information, plus tea and biscuits. What more could we want! Knowledgeable, patient and understanding. We were pleased with the whole experience.

The warm welcome, knowledgeable staff and lack of “sales pitch” pressure was refreshing.

We got exactly what we wanted and the whole process was amazing.

Patricia was very patient, kind and helpful when we went to chose new chairs and a sofa. We waited for 8 weeks for delivery, and again both the delivery drivers were excellent. We had also ordered arm covers for the chairs and sofa, but one chair came with two left covers, instead of a left and a right. We now have to wait another eight weeks for a replacement, as it is treated as a new order, instead of a mistake. So to complete the order it will have taken from March to July. Have to hope that the replacement material will be a complete match, as it may be a different batch of material.

Ella was absolutely brilliant, helpful, patient, knowledgeable and a great salesperson.

Sales person gave us time to tryout nearly every chair in the shop, only to come back to the very first chair we tried. They went through the whole process of ensuring the chair fitted correctly.

There was a slight delay in delivery due to a fault being found on one the chairs. This was a quality control check by HSLbefore it was delivered to us. Kept well informed of the problem and a new date was set for delivery.

The Delivery men Edwin and Garry were amazing. They rang to say they were going to be earlier than stated. I explained I hadn't moved the furniture to accommodate the new chairs. Told me not to worry, they would do it when they got here.

I would recommend this company as the service from start to finish was excellent.

Informative and knowledgeable salesman who spent time to explain and advise without getting too pushy. Thank you for the assistance.
