Very disappointing experience with a Hreyfill driver.

The driver was rude and not polite at all, which made the whole ride uncomfortable from the start. While the car itself was acceptable, the service was far from it. There was no help with luggage, and both the cleanliness and smell inside the vehicle left a lot to be desired.

This was an early morning transfer from The Reykjavík EDITION to KEF Airport, and unfortunately it set a very poor tone for the end of the trip.

I also do not recommend booking a taxi through the hotel, as they add around 35% extra just for arranging the service.

Would not use again.

Me and my husband took a taxi from a company that the hotel recommended. The ride was good and quick. The driver was friendly. Not much more to say about this. Will use again.

We used Hreyfill with a pre-booked pickup from the airport and everything went smoothly, We found the driver in the arrivals and had no trouble finding him. The booking process was easy, confirmation was clear, and the driver was ready on arrival.The ride into Reykjavík was efficient, and the service felt professional and reliable from start to finish. I would absolutely use Hreyfill again for airport transfers. We will use them on the way back to the airport

Hreyfill replied and said that there was no indication of anything wrong. Simply Googled and answered.

"A taxi from the Marina Hotel (Grandi area) in Reykjavík to the Sky Lagoon typically costs between $25 and $35 USD (approx. 3,500 – 5,000 ISK) for a roughly 15-minute ride. It is highly recommended to use the Hreyfill app or have your hotel call a taxi for you to ensure a fair fare."

Yet I was charged 7578isk, but there is "nothing wrong" according to Hreyfill.

Hreyfill taxi company is not trustworthy. We took a taxi ride, before we knew that they starting rate was 830isk. When the taxi picked us up the meter was already at 1850is. A short ride was 7578isk (($76+ US). I contacted the company and have had no resolution to this. Even the hotel we stated at told us that there was no way that it should have been that much. The hotel informed us that we had been overcharged by at least $25US. Hreyfill knows how far it is from out hotel to the Sky Lagoon, as it is a popular trip. Even with that knowledge they refuse to fix the charge. DO NOT USE, OR TRUST, this company.

Really bad service, booked taxi to bus station night before, received email confirmation.

Phoned about 5.40am was told taxi on its way, waited another 10 mins still no taxi, called again and was told no taxi available.

Then had to walk to bus station in the snow with luggage.

Not a good service at all.

If back in Iceland would never use them.

Punctual, clean and nice looking cars.
Driver was professional and charged according to meter. No what's ifs or buts.
Have used them many many times and always a pleasant experience, last time I used them was during a visit in July.

Im guessing them negative reviews are a part of a smear campaign by another Taxi company run by foreigners.

The taxis were excellent on the whole. They came quickly when called, all the drivers were friendly and courteous.

We had one genuine mistake and the company apologised and rectified it quickly in an appropriate way. Very professional and excellent customer service. Thank you

This company provided one of the best experiences of any taxi company we have had the pleasure of riding in. The driver went out of his way to cater to our request of finding us a pharmacy nearby the cruise port where we disembarked. The vehicle was exceptionally clean, the driver neat, well dressed and friendly. Many vistitors will find Iceland taxis, like other products and restaurants to be relatively expensive compared to mainland services, but this expense was balanced with the quality of service we received.

I lost a piece of luggage onboard my cruise ship and this local Taxi company was incredibly helpful. I was not even their customer and yet the lady that helped (Sylia )sent a Taxi to the port side to look for my luggage and later referred me to the port agents who managed to help. I was not even a customer of Hreyfill Taxi and yet they went above and beyond their duty in trying to help.

wow, this is really a surprise to me. We just returned from a week in Iceland and the service from Hreyvill was outstanding. Used them multiple times a day, had a different driver each time. All spoke very good english and were on time and while not all were conversationalists, all polite and got us to and from wherever needed.

Didn't turn up for confirmed bookings, and we missed 2 pre booked tours, one being the blue lagoon.
They don't have there own drivers they pass the work on to self employed drivers who are not always available.
Very expensive when they do turn up probably due to hreyfill taking a big cut of fare.

I do not remember when was the last time I could rely on this company. Not coming on time, no information about driver arrival (of course if you wont show up in 2 minutes driver will just leave without any notice), drivers dont know the city at all. If you want to be at work on time in a stormy weather - just take a bus…

Really surprised by the negative reviews here - I was in Reykjavik last week and used Hreyfill for every journey - to and from airport and Blue Lagoon - and they were faultless. All drivers were prompt and friendly - many were also tour guides and had excellent English and local knowledge, all taxis were clean and my emails were responded to very promptly. I paid up front for most of my journeys, but also paid drivers by credit card - and all costs were transparent. I wouldn't hesitate to use Hreyfill again, or to recommend them, based on my experiences.

Avoid this company. I ordered a package for Sky Lagoon with both way pick up and drop off. A bald taxi driver came and I asked him if it is for my name. He said yes. I went in, and when I arrived, he insisted to charge me even I showed him the voucher. He was so rude and blamed on me I should have showed him the voucher first. He said he never saw it in his life. But I asked him if it is for MY NAME. He said yes. I called my travel agent. They just said yes to every name in order to get the business.

We took a taxi from Keflavik airport to our hotel which went very smoothly. But when we were leaving Iceland we’d booked a new taxi and also reminded Hreyfill of our special needs (baby seat for a one year old) which they confirmed the day before. But in the morning at 5.30 no taxi came. We called Hreyfilled who said that they were full and had referred us to another taxi company. We called the other company who said a car was coming. The car came 5.55! And no baby seat! Obviously a lot of people are going to the airport at the same time in the morning and Hreyfill does not contact you to explain that they have referred you to another company nor informing you of their tardiness.
