An actual scam. DO AVOID!
I don't know how the term "HPI" seeped into English vocabulary, but if you even need to check a car before buying do avoid this website. They sell massively expensive checks and their vouchers do not work. You get a 3 car voucher and when trying to use it on their website it redirects you to the home page. I did try multiple browsers and computers. Their contact email bounces back so there's no way to get customer support.

I wish I checked here first. Cannot redeem multi checks and there is no support. Logged multiple tickets with there service desk and no response. Very poor service.

Terrible company
Terrible company, website unclear as to actual checks, didn't respond to emails clearly, despite three requests to provide details of complaints procedure they continue to ignore me. Also not transparent with respect to pricing, they are expensive and there are many cheaper alternative providers of the same information.

Charged 3 times, no refund given
The payment page doesn't work - it says payment failed but I was charged 3 times. Customer service are utterly useless and refused a refund of extra charges - I am having to recover the funds through my bank, wasting more of my time.

Why can I not give zero stars?
This is a fraudulent, straight out front for a telephone call scam pretending to purchase an advertised car but insisting on a check that you pay for!

Horrendous website and system
Horrendous website, dodgy scammers, purchased a multi check package, they send you a code to email which you are meant to be able to use within 2 years for 2 additional vehicle checks. When you put in the code with the reg of vehicle you want to check it will redirect to another website Solera hpi check and ask for vehicle reg then ask for captcha code 5-6 times then give you option to pay again. Absolutely rubbish system and service, DO NOT USE this rubbish.

Failure to complete check
I purchased a 3 car check on 21/12 is now the 24th and i have not received any comms. I was told that my payment was pending and until its finalised by HPI. I will not get any checks. Why have HPI not proceeded. Because HPI HAVE DRAGGED THEIR FEET I HAVE LOST THE CAR I WANTED. Other detail providers have much better customer relations and do a good check.

Its just a rip-off
I hadn't even heard of this company before I tried to sell my car. I was then told by the dealer that I was trying to sell it to that the information on the system on engine type and mileage was incorrect. Despite having the V5 and full service report I was told they couldn't investigate as it wasn't me who requested the check. I had to pay £20 to obtain the report the dealer had already given me. The data shows that the car has a diesel engine on one part of report and a petrol engine on other. Shouldn't they at least be looking into these sort of descrepencies rather than expect their "customers" to chase around finding the information that they were never asked to provide in the first place. I now have to get the manufacturer to inform DVLA who will then need to inform HPI Check that the information that they obtained form somewhere or other is incorrect

Waste of money
I am very disappointed with my experience using HPI Check. I was charged twice for the same report, and the information provided was incomplete and far below expectations. For the price they charge, the report should include full details, but instead it felt basic and unhelpful.
I contacted them for support and a refund, as being double-charged and receiving an inadequate report is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend HPI Check. There are other services that offer clearer, more detailed reports at better value.

Terrible company!! SCAMMERS !! Took £19 from me even when a REG was wrong (was not the correct REG number for any car). Instead of confirming the motor, it just took the money and later told me that there was no motor registered to the REG ! ! ! STAY AWAY ! ! !

Hi everyone I have also been scammed by these robbers who have charged me £1.95 for a one off HPI check then the next day I have been robbed the next day of £39.00 I didn't receive any emails where apparently you have 48 hours to cancel this so called subscription. Can I please ask anyone who else has been scammed contact Action Fraud who have said they are going to look into this so maybe the more complaints they get hopefully the quicker we can get this site shut down. Thank you.

If i could give a minus i woukd please do not use this service i was originally charged around £1.95 As another review has said, they charge you a good price for a HPI check but a week later I was charged £39.90 but them for no reason? Apparently it’s a subscription service, absolute CON. Companies like this shouldn’t be allowed. Disgusting don’t bother i am going to get in touch with my bank to see what they can do as this FRAUD!!!!

Scammers clear as day
Scammers clear as day, avoid like the plague, try to request customer service but no account or user doesn’t exist, had to block them by bank on the original hpi check payment - I bought from HPIcheck but was billed by bridtishdrive
Just to add to my review that reply they added is a joke - the website was HPI and the bill was britishdrives - if you want proof of a scam there it is, imagine a company trying to defend that they take action against that type of stuff 😂
