I Bought online a CAMBRIDGE MAGNETIC CHESS SET WITH ROUND BOARD AND DRAWER 9 inch. I bought this to sit on my lap while I sat on sofa to work out openings and defences.
Delivery was quick. The board and draw is well made. The pieces - some of the magnets aren’t that strong and will slide about if the board isn’t that flat. Some of the magnets are opposite poles so will at times attract each other. On the whole for what it is….its ok.

Bought games for Christmas in December - the store is a wonderland and the team are amazing! I left with the game I came for (Dixit) plus a couple of impulse buys that we have really enjoyed, the most fun being Hand to Hand Wombat (silly but thrilling!).
Hoyles is fantastic, whether you're looking for an heirloom chessboard to treasure for decades or creative silly things to entertain a crowd. LOVE!

The best packed book I've every received!
I was looking for a particular book, Hoyles had it. Shipping, £4.95? That's a bit much right? But... They have the book I want and it's cheaper than elsewhere, so why not give them a shot.
Almost every book I've ever purchased from the internet, that's not Amazon, has arrived damaged, either slightly or a lot. So I didn't have high hopes...
But when the book arrived, it was in a large box. A tiddlywinks box... hmmm... this can't be right. The book I ordered is A4 at best and maybe 2-300 pages thick, what's up with this huge box I wondered?
Inside, was my beautiful book, cradled like a new born in a paper onesie, then wrapped several times in cardboard mesh, carefully placed in it's cardboard crib while surrounded by more meshed cardboard/paper wrapping.
I've never seen a book wrapped so carefully as to make sure it arrived in pristine condition. Hoyles restored my faith in internet book sellers and I'd be happy to do business with them again, knowing that they will take such good care of my order.
