My experience with the Horizon Academic Research Program was both challenging and really rewarding. I appreciated how rigorous the academic side was- it pushed me to think more critically and take my research seriously- but at the same time, the environment was very friendly and supportive. My mentor was patient and never made me feel inexperienced, which made a big difference in my confidence. Overall, I would definitely recommend Horizon to students who want to grow academically while being supported along the way.
So in the end, with the help of this program, I managed to successfully complete a 27-page paper on Multiple Sclerosis.

Horizon was an amazing experience that helped me dive deep into machine learning and deep learning. My research focused on predicting breast cancer survival using tabular clinical and genetic data. Thanks to my mentor, I learned how to work with real-world datasets, build and compare different models, and evaluate them using survival metrics. Horizon also helped me improve my research writing and understand how to structure a formal academic paper. I’m currently finalizing my work and look forward to publishing it soon.
