I was hesitant going with honeycomb…
I was hesitant going with honeycomb insurance for my rental property but the process and handling to get a quote was very smooth and competitive. I went ahead with them and it's been great so far. I have not had any insurance claimed with them so far, so it will be a real test if it comes down to it. I hope i don't have to deal with any insurance issues.

I am impressed with the speed they worked with me to write the policy. It is bit expensive for me but current market in California is crazy i am not sure what is check or expensive any more.

As an 18 year insurance agent
As an 18 year insurance agent, the company states they write things, but nothing ever fits their underwriting guidelines. I won't waste my time quoting a company, I have no confidence in possible taking care of the policy holder.

Crooks Write Policies NOT Looking at Their Own Inspection
August - Honeycomb did a thorough inspection and 20 photos of the electrical panels.
September - I paid $3497 for their policy
October - They required $35000 of interior electrical panels which we couldn't possibly complete in 3 weeks.They refunded some money but took $565.
They claim they don't review their inspection in a timely manner. WATCH OUT for these crooks.

Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our insured properties and their tenants - and we go to great lengths to achieve this goal. Honeycomb's inbound submission screening questionnaire, the signed application process, and property inspections are some of our multiple efforts to ensure that non-standard electrical panels with an increased likelihood of electrical overload, breaker trip failure, etc., which could result in a fire, are not in our program.
If they are identified, as they were in this case, Honeycomb requires that they be replaced. In the event that an insured requires an extended period of time to complete the necessary replacement of ineligible electrical panels, we are happy to be flexible and supportive regarding the timeline, as long as the insured is making material progress toward completing the replacement. In this specific case, the insured elected to cancel the Honeycomb policy midterm; therefore, we refund all unearned premiums net of clearly designated non-refundable policy fees and short-rate cancellation penalties as permitted by state insurance statutes.

Probably the worst insurance I've ever…
Probably the worst insurance I've ever dealt with. If I could give lower stars I would. Customer service 0, timely responses 0. They tell you the deductible foreach occurrence but leave out how high the deductible is so you can't even claim anything unless it's above a certain dollar amount. Tried to claim hail damage and said the amount didn't meet the $40,000 deductible. So if the damage would have been $39,000, they still wouldn't have covered it. Garbage

Policy deductibles are presented in the quote you have received prior to purchasing a policy including a specific deductible in the occurrence of wind/hail damage. Your policy coverage and deductibles were clearly communicated to you prior to purchasing a policy from Honeycomb.
Landlord's insurance
Trying this insurance out for the first time as it is difficult to find good landlord's insurance in California. The quoting process was fast and easy although they wanted you to enter an email/number to see the final quote. Spoke to someone on the phone and they were courteous and professional. Very competitively priced for similar coverage compared to the other insurance companies I have used.

I am an agent and I would love to be appointed by this company. I use other MGAs and their process is old and outdated and it takes forever to get a quote back. I was actually shopping for my Dad and I found this company online and I ran a quote and I could not believe how easy it was. I lost commission but I was able to secure a good policy for my father. Would love to offer this product to my clients as I have many clients with apartment buildings.
