Absolutely useless system

Absolutely useless system. I had to contact my agency each time I tried to log on. I had to decrease the settings on my laptop in order to see the text which ended up being too small. It costs £18 for the certificate for the course.

Poor complaint handling and refusal to take ownership

Extremely poor complaint handling from Healthier Business Group, made worse by the conduct of Declan Henry.

This was not a complicated issue. Healthier Business Group chose DPD to fulfil delivery of a parcel to my home address. DPD then failed to deliver it properly and later admitted in writing that the driver attended the wrong location, that the delivery failed, and that they accepted responsibility for the service failure.

The facts were therefore clear.

My request to Healthier Business Group was limited to asking them, as the contracting party, to lean on DPD to seek a modest and proportionate resolution.

Yet despite their own courier formally accepting fault, Healthier Business Group still refused to take any meaningful ownership of the problem or make any real effort to put matters right. I was left to deal with the consequences myself, including having to personally collect the parcel at my own inconvenience and expense.

What followed was the most revealing part of the experience.

Instead of behaving like a professional company interested in resolving an admitted failure within its own fulfilment chain, Healthier Business Group chose to hide behind contractual wording, distance itself from the problem, and shut the matter down as aggressively as possible.

Declan Henry’s handling of this was particularly poor and reflected badly on the company.

He issued what was described as a “final position” on behalf of Healthier Business Group and took it upon himself to close the matter down in a manner that was dismissive, procedurally weak, and plainly uninterested in fairness or proper review.

Most notably, I had expressly stated that contemporaneous evidence existed contradicting assumptions being relied upon in the handling. That evidence was neither requested nor reviewed before the complaint was effectively closed. Despite that, Declan Henry still saw fit to issue a confident “final” response as though the matter had been properly examined.

That is not competent complaint handling. It is not good judgment. And it is certainly not the sort of conduct you would expect from someone speaking with apparent authority on behalf of a company.

The overall impression left by Healthier Business Group was very poor: take the customer’s money, outsource part of the service, and if something goes wrong, close ranks, avoid ownership, and hope the customer gives up.

If everything goes smoothly, perhaps you will never see this side of the company. But if something goes wrong, my experience suggests you may find yourself dealing with a business that is far more interested in shutting complaints down than in resolving them properly.

A very poor reflection on both Healthier Business Group and the standard of people they allow to issue “final positions” in their name.

UPDATE FOLLOWING THE COMPANY’S PUBLIC RESPONSE:

Thank you for the response.

This response illustrates the issue raised in my review.

My complaint was not about whether the training was ultimately completed. It was about the handling of an admitted delivery failure within your fulfilment chain, and the refusal to take any meaningful ownership of that failure.

The fact that the training was later completed does not erase the admitted delivery failure, the inconvenience and cost caused by it, or the complaint that arose from it.

DPD confirmed in writing that the delivery failed and that the driver attended the wrong location. My original request to Healthier Business Group was that, as the contracting party, you engage with your courier to seek a modest and proportionate resolution.

The amount requested did increase during the correspondence, but that was expressly explained at the time. It increased incrementally only because the matter became more prolonged, obstructive, and administratively wasteful, despite DPD having already admitted fault.

The issue was then closed on a “service completed” basis without review of the contemporaneous evidence I had identified and without any meaningful attempt to address the admitted failure in your chosen delivery process.

That distinction remains central to my review.

We are sorry that you remain dissatisfied; however, it is important to clarify the circumstances for accuracy.

In this case, you booked our Practical BLS via Video Link training, which includes delivery of equipment, remote training, and certification. The equipment was dispatched on time, a delivery attempt was made, and following redirection by the courier, the parcel was collected. The training was then completed successfully, and certification was issued without delay.

While DPD has acknowledged that the initial delivery attempt was made to the wrong location, the parcel was subsequently made available for collection and the training proceeded as planned. The service itself was therefore delivered in full and without interruption.

Your complaint was reviewed in line with our procedures and based on the relevant facts. As the service was completed in full and accepted at the time, no service failure was identified on the part of Healthier Business, and therefore compensation was not applicable.

We also note that the resolution requested changed during the course of correspondence. Our position has remained consistent throughout and has been based on the contractual service delivered and the outcome achieved.

All complaints are handled on behalf of Healthier Business as an organisation. It is not appropriate to single out individual team members, as responses are issued following internal review, in line with our terms and the available evidence.

We understand that courier issues can be frustrating, and we do seek to support customers where possible. However, in this instance the matter was reviewed fully and concluded appropriately.

We remain committed to delivering high-quality, accessible training and to handling all feedback in a fair, consistent, and professional manner.

I felt really positive because the… 1. I recognised my own competence in the moment and my clinical reasoning flows naturally, as I was drawing on real experience from acute, frailty, AMU, or stroke.

I felt really positive because the panel created a warm and welcoming atmosphere right from the start. The structure was clear, the technology worked smoothly, and the interviewer gave me time to think and respond thoughtfully. I also appreciated how she engaged with my examples and encouraged me to expand on my clinical reasoning. It helped me feel comfortable and able to show my authentic practice. My honest opinion is to leave as it is.
