Big Island Little Cheese Shoppe started in sept of 2022 in the small town of Hawi, on the Big Island of Hawaii. We had the idea of bringing a Hawaiian themed cheese experience to this small historic town. In May 2023 we opened our second location in Old Town Spring, Texas to share our one of a kind Hawaiian made dairy products with our mainland neighbors. We hope to continue to expand and spread a little aloha around the world.

A great night out! Create something while you enjoy wine and cheese with friends!

We had a blast and learned so much! This family owned business is super knowledgeable about dairy farming and the craft of making cheese! The class was very well organized, and we had the opportunity to start from scratch with a half gallon of milk to taking home our own little mozzarella balls, knots, etc! We were treated to wine and charcuterie including their homemade cheeses and butters while we worked. Great for small groups, girls’ night, date night, or family fun. Loved it and highly recommend!

Love this cheese shop!

Love this cheese shop!! I have ordered multiple charcuterie boards and cheese flights and they have all been phenomenal. They offer free samples and I highly recommended going and trying all of the varieties of hard and soft cheeses they have to offer, you will not be disappointed!

We took the cheese making class and it…

We took the cheese making class and it was a lot of fun. We learned some really interesting things (like what curds and whey really are and now I have questions for Ms Muffet). The only issue was the power supply and lack of space for that many people….but we’d definitely buy from them again and the class was a lot of fun.

Do the cheese class!

Had a great time doing the cheese class! Learned so much about dairy farms and cheese. The mozzarella we made was delicious! The charcuterie boards were delicious and filled with their specialty cheeses which we bought after the class. Highly recommend the cheese class 10/10

The workers are great!

The workers are great! They gave good suggestions on all their cheeses. They even make their spreadable cheeses (which are great) in-house.

Enjoyed, but disappointed.

•Liked: the knowledge and history behind cheese making, kindness from staff, charcuterie boards
•Disliked: the wine was in small little plastic shot cups, more of a demonstration rather than a hands on cooking class, the downstairs crowd from the bar was extremely loud and made it hard to hear the instructor
•Our group would have preferred it to be a traditional hands on cooking class rather than a demonstration. We wanted to make mozzarella from start to finish. With the class being $100 per person, I would have expected the class to be a traditional hands on cooking class, recieved more cheese than 3-4 mozzarella balls to take home, and actual wine glasses to sip on wine tastings. I feel like each set of 2 should have gotten their own pot, heating stove burner, and 1 gallon of milk to make 1 pound of cheese. So that we each could’ve participated in the cheese making process. The charcuterie boards were delicious and very much enjoyed the different cheeses, meats, and crackers. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Yum Yum

We bought a variety of cheeses, and they are all excellent and made a beautiful and delicious charcuterie board but we couldn't get enough of the fig and sriracha soft cheese spreads. They are EXCELLENT!!
