Tina Makes All the Difference at Haslams
Tina is an exceptional team member at Haslams and has been a pleasure to deal with for over a decade. She's consistently warm, respectful, and incredibly helpful, her approach truly reflects her own professionalism and care. It's always a positive experience when Tina is involved, and she’s a big reason why working with Haslams has been so smooth over the years.
While I will not speak for every member of the team, I can say with confidence that Tina is a real gem, a standout in every sense.
Tenancy Renewing
I have just gone through the process of renewing a tenancy agreement for the property I rent - it was a little non standard as I have restrictions around dates and when the tenancy needs to end - Katie Wild was great - she proposed numerous options all of which I was happy with so these were then presented to the Tenants and we have agreed an approach that is hopefully beneficial to all parties - Katie made the whole process swift and simple

Renewal Agreement
Katie managed our Renewal Agreement for our apartment and it was a smooth experience as she addressed all our concerns and took appropriate action. She helped us co-ordinate our requirements with the Landlord and got signatures on time.
Worst Experience with Haslams
I chose Haslams seeming they’re good agents in Reading, UK—but my experience was the worst I’ve ever had.
Before move-in they promised the property would be “professionally cleaned,” yet we arrived to a dirty toilet, broken door locks, and stains on the bedroom carpet. When we complained, we were told, “It’s professionally cleaned just live with it until you move out.” Living in that condition was unacceptable.
The management was equally terrible. Every repair request dragged on for weeks. On move-out day they even tried to blame us for a broken front-door lock on exit inventory—luckily we’d taken photos and videos before leaving to prove otherwise. Despite the landlord agreeing there should be no deductions, Haslams then deliberately delayed our deposit refund. Under TDS rules it should have been returned within 10 days, but it took them weeks.
I strongly advise anyone considering Haslams to think twice. Their promises are empty, their service is appalling, and they’ll hold onto your deposit for as long as they can and try to deduct.

Excellent service as always
I'm a landlord and I've been using Haslams for many years, the service and advice has always been first-class. Recently, I was due a refund from Reading Council for council tax, having spent over an hour and a half trying to resolve the situation I gave up and contacted Tina C at Haslams, she was very professional and friendly and I'm pleased to say she the issue was resolved promptly. Excellent service!
Decent and on-point experience of moving into a new flat from abroad
Moving into a new flat from abroad certainly is no easy feat, but Haslam EA certainly made it all smooth and easy to navigate through. From viewing to contract signing, all the agents that I have interacted with definitely exercised the highest level of professionalism, communication and precision in answering any of my queries and getting the bureaucratic procedures done in such a timely order.
I must mention the two following agents (and in no particular order), Alice Baker and Isobel Lunn, for acting as mentioned above. Compared to the level of bureaucracy that I have experienced in an unnamed EU country a short while back, this was certainly refreshing and rejuvenating to experience. All matters and queries were handled and solved by them with the greatest speed and efficiency, which facilitated my move to be on-time and as per planned.
My sincerest thanks to them both. May both of them flourish as a distinguished MARLA in the future.
Very disappointing experience with Haslams
When we first moved in, the property was not properly cleaned — we had to clean it ourselves despite paying for a professionally managed tenancy. Several items were broken or in poor condition, and repair requests were either ignored or extremely delayed. Communication was poor throughout, and the property manager was often rude and unhelpful.
When it came time to move out, Haslams insisted we use their own professional cleaners, even though we left the flat in better condition than we received it — we have photos and evidence to prove this. They're now trying to make unfair deductions from our deposit, including claims that aren't true.
To make matters worse, we started receiving cold calls from strangers shortly after moving in. It appears our contact details were shared with third parties without consent — a serious breach of privacy.
I would not recommend Haslams to future tenants. Poor service, poor communication, and an overall lack of professionalism.

7 months no heating....
7 months no heating...
Worse company I have ever used for renting and disgusting treatment - especially by Nicky!
Had no heating for 7 months, made multiple complaints including going into their office and speaking to their head. He said "its your choice, if you don't like it you can leave".
They believe a small fan heater is sufficient as heating for a property....disgusting.
Short of taking legal actions I had no option but to move out.
Then without giving me any notice they walk into the property while I'm not there (illegal) and get a new tenant to agree to stay there at a £200 premium - STILL WITH NO HEATING!
I suspect this has been going on for several years, with neighbours confirmed that tenants have left for heating reasons for the past 2 years.

Dragging out returning deposit
I checked out of a Haslams property on 30/11/24 and I’m still unable to get my deposit back. There was a short delay when I had to recall the cleaners and move 2 pieces of furniture. However, this was all sorted by 11/12/24. In January, after having no correspondence from Haslams, I raised a TDS dispute to get my deposit back. They have even re-let the property and are still dragging on giving me my deposit back even after I have agreed the amount to be returned. I simply cannot believe this letting agent is supposedly one of the best in Reading. Such awful service! They really do deserve an absolute 0 rating.
