mortgage offer

I received a mortgage offer, all the paperwork was completed, and everything had been accepted. However, I was then told that the mortgage couldn’t go ahead because the term needed to be extended. This has happened twice, which has been incredibly frustrating.

It’s also impossible to speak to a mortgage adviser in person at a branch. Everything has to be done over the phone or through the app, and it takes ages to get in touch with an adviser.

Overall, I’ve had a very disappointing experience. I would avoid this bank for mortgages, and I can’t wait to move all of my accounts to a different bank as soon as possible.

Absolutely ludicrous

Absolutely ludicrous! You can’t make appointments to see a person, any business, private or otherwise, is conducted in the public domain. I have spent 3 hours on phone calls and made 2 visits to banks. Issues still not resolved!!
I will probably close the account.

I am a Lloyds Bank shareholder, but they still scammed me!

Back in 2004 I became a shareholder in Lloyds Banking Group.
I felt proud to be a shareholder until March 2024 when I learned to my horror I had been scammed by Lloyds Bank!
In 2009 the bank financial advisor persuaded me to take out a life insurance policy with Scottish Widows.
I had previous endowment life policies with another major insurance provider which after a set period matured and paid out.
The Lloyds Bank advisor insisted the bank can match that with a much better endowment policy, promising a savings and investment opportunity generating a fund I can draw from during my life should I need money due to poor health, unable to work or adapting my home for special needs or providing a pay-out after death to an appointed recipient.
After receiving written notification of those terms, I agreed the policy as described was acceptable and I agreed to the monthly direct debit.
In February 2024 I telephoned Scottish Widows to inform them my younger brother who was my elected beneficiary of the policy had sadly passed away in November 2023.
I also enquired about maturity of the policy which had been running for a little over thirteen years at that point.
I was stunned when I heard the reply: The policy only pays out after death; there is no pay-out during your life! I replied: The documents provided to me in 2009 clearly states in the policy ‘protection’ feature, money is available during my life when I need it due to ill-health, unable to work or adapt my home for special needs, that need is now!
Their response; Those conditions are not in the policy, it only pays out on death!
You should know that as it’s clearly stated in the agreement you signed in 2009!
I replied: I have never been asked to sign any agreement that states it only pays out on death!
Scottish Widows: We will send you a copy of the signed agreement.
In March 2024, I received a letter from Lloyds Bank with an agreement document attached.
I had never previously seen that document at any time previous to March 2024.
Study of the agreement showed two dated signatures were present on the final page.
1.The financial Advisor and 2. The customer.
The financial advisor had dated his signature in his handwriting BUT the dating of the customer signature displayed ‘identical’ handwriting to that applied by the financial advisor! Conclusion: The Lloyds financial advisor had clearly applied the date to both signatures! Further scrutiny of the customer signature exposed the customer signature had NOT been applied by me, the differences were obvious.
The document described a policy that was entirely different to the policy features provided to me in 2009. There was one conclusion, the customer signature had been falsely signed by Lloyds Bank staff to allow an agreement I had never seen or signed, to be covertly put into force without my knowledge from where withdrawal of money from my bank account was paying into a different policy type I had not sanctioned nor given my knowledge or consent!
In 2009, a document Lloyds provided to me was a list confirming ALL documents they claim to have provided me. I checked and re-checked that list to find reference to the falsely signed agreement document but the agreement did NOT exist in that list confirming the document was falsely signed and processed without my knowledge or consent!
I informed Lloyds I am taking the document to the police! They insisted I must NOT do that and must submit my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman. I followed that instruction and after several months I was informed Lloyds Bank wont grant permission to the FOS to investigate the falsely signed agreement! I have spoken to Lloyds Bank again on Tuesday this week and asked them to provide a defence for their actions but they chose not to comment or discuss the substance of what is a very serious matter! I am now seriously considering consulting my solicitor to pursue action as Lloyds Bank are entrenched in reluctance to talk about it and provide answers or solutions!
In the meantime I am also preparing a letter to inform Lloyds Bank Shares, in view of the gravity of this matter I cannot continue to be a shareholder in a company that is dishonest and attacks its own shareholders!

A Broken Banking Group With Broken Values

Complaint Expansion A

16 June 2025 — I contacted Mr Nunn directly, making clear that I had been defrauded by DBL Max and that, because of the negligence of Halifax staff, the bank was now standing behind someone who had defrauded one of its customers.

24 June 2025 — My MP, Rushanara Ali, contacted Mr Nunn on my behalf. On the same day, I sent a second, strongly worded email setting out clearly what his staff’s negligence had left the bank exposed to, and the implications of that.

30 June 2025 — According to a letter from the bank’s solicitors dated 15 July 2025, this is when the bank’s side was “actioned.”

15 July 2025 — I received the first letter from the solicitors.

By then, almost one full month had passed since I had first raised this, during which I remained defrauded, without money, and even without food.

His solicitor was clinging to some supposed three-month protocol as if leaving me in this state for that length of time was remotely viable.

He did not even press Lloyds to lift the emergency overdraft on my account, which had no business being there in the first place. That overdraft remains in place to this day.

He failed to act despite me spelling out that this was their fault, not mine, and that I did not deserve what was happening to me.

I got his name wrong initially — an easy mistake given that the names I used are common first names in many cultures. He never corrected me, leaving me to figure it out myself, even though he had misnamed me in his very first email and I corrected him straight away.

The two email addresses in play further confused matters: one had an automated reply giving an “annual leave” return date that literally did not exist (Monday 18 August), while the other carried no such notice. That mismatch looked like stalling tactics.

The most words he ever put in an email to me were in chastising me, insisting I should communicate with him directly, even though he had never actually told me that at any earlier point.

Brilliant Job

As we have been acting, on our sons behalf we had to close our his bank account. In order to do this we have LPA's in place register those took a bit of doing and throwing but I have to say closing the account went fast about 5 minutes. I like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the member of staff in the Branch in Halifax Woolshops

Misleading information!

I've been with LLoyds Bank since 2008, and club lloyds customer since roughly 2014.Thought to finance a car purchase partly with a personal loan. Did a soft search on a Sunday and got 3.9% personalized representative APR and High approval likelihood. On Monday, scheduled an appointment at a branch and checked the rate again: all the same. I was shocked when I found out that the personalized representative APR has gone to 5.7% with the chances of approval Likely! In a space of two days with no changes to the Excellent Experian score and 200 points above the national and local avg score at Equifax! Gutted. Feels like a stub in back. Customer service tried to explain that the APR is representative but didn't even get the point that the representative (!) APR changed with no reason. My fiance banks with Barclays and is completely happy, he's been advising me to switch which I will surely do. Think Barclays will be happy to retain one loyal client and get one more with a credit score above national and London average.

Shocking!!
Your told to call them, you try and after 25mins you get transferred, then another 20 mins then you get cut off.

The same message anytime of the day, saying they are busy.

How on earth you can get anything sorted is beyond me.

Sorry Lloyds you need to do better.

Lloyds Home insurance are dreadful

Lloyds Home insurance are dreadful. Car went into our boundary wall still not completed the work since 26/9/21
A second vehicle has now crashed in to the same wall on 2/12/21 and I’ve been trying since then to report a claim but the phone gas never been picked up. Had over 5 accumulative hours waiting and even requested several call backs which never materialised!! Quick enough to take your premiums though!!! Avoid like the plague!
