I booked Harkstead Hall through Airbnb, Group Retreats customer service was incredible! Sending us everything we needed to know and more, they checked in with us the day before and a few days later to see how our stay was. As for the property, it was stunning! I stayed there the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids, plenty of space for us all to have our hair and makeup done in the morning, and plenty of space for entertaining a larger group the night of tje wedding! Would definitely recommend! Thank you for making the time around our wedding so special x

We had an amazing stay at Ashfield Place Farm in Framingham, Ipswich. The mansion itself is stunning, and the cleanliness throughout was absolutely 5-star – everything was spotless and so well looked after. The pool and hot tub were a real highlight, both lovely, warm, and exceptionally clean, making them perfect for relaxing.

The caretaker (jason) was brilliant, always on hand to help and make sure we had everything we needed. We were also lucky enough to meet the owner, who visited at the weekend and was just as warm and welcoming as the property itself.

The rooms were perfect and come with comfy bedding.

the kitchen was a perfect place for socialising and plenty big enough for 28 of us

the pool and hotub were also brilliant sizes!

the house even came with a wireless speaker which is a brilliant idea.

All in all, a wonderful stay in a beautiful home – we couldn’t recommend Ashfield Place Farm more highly.

Stayed at Ashfield place farm. Had everything we needed. Such a beautiful place. Celebrating my husbands 40th with friends. Incredible unforgettable weekend. Will most definitely stay again. Highly recommended for family and friends.

Milton house 19th to 21st September
Just returned from a stay at Milton House Bedfordshire stayed for 2 nights
It was absolutely amazing better the we expected the house was beautiful and spacious the grounds went on for ever loads of little separate areas if you want to have your own space for a while
There were 20 of us age range from 2 to 86 and we all had the best time
The pool and hot tub were great to relax in at the end of busy days
All the gardens were well maintained loads of fruit tree plenty of space to play outdoor games
There were two kitchens well stocked with cutlery plates and all things you might need if cooking which we did just bring your own ingredients and the location was perfect peaceful but not to far from shops if you need anything
Group retreats have done a great job with everything in this property
We will definitely be booking with them again it was the best family staycation we have had

This was our first family staycation and we all had the best time. We stayed at Milton house and the facilities were amazing. We even made use of the apple trees and made our own apple crumble. The grounds were spacious, we had multiple barbecues, tennis, cricket and football tournaments. The options were endless. Would deffo return to Milton house and would definitely use group retreats again!!

Recently stayed at Harkstead Hall in Suffolk. One of Group Retreats' smaller properties with six bedrooms. Absolutely fantastic venue for a family get-together. The hot tub and heated swimming pool were amazing. House extremely well furnished, comfortable and well equipped. All contact with Group Retreats was extremely professional and they were very attentive. We advised them after our stay of a few small issues and they immediately responded advising they would be sorted before the next guests arrived. They even sent us an email thanking us for leaving the house in such good condition!

Great house that was perfect for our needs (15 person company retreat). Good facilities, nice rooms and amazing grounds. Comms were easy and helpful before check-in.

Was really excited about staying in Ashfield Place as it looks such a beautiful farmhouse on the website, but I have to say everything exceeded my expectations 100 fold! What a wonderful 60th birthday with friends and family! Amazing house, clean, comfortable, interesting layout and so large. Crisp sheets and really comfortable beds, beautifully maintained old buildings, carefully managed grounds with lots of mature trees and interesting views, glorious pool, pool table, hot tub and huge kitchen! Did not even get time to play tennis! Close to stunning east Suffolk coast so we had a lovely trip to Dunwich too. Thank you Group Retreats - you are much more than it says on the tin…… very friendly and helpful staff and a welcome basket of delicious goodies too!

We have just returned from a long weekend stay at Ashfield Place and wow we did not want to leave. There was plenty of space for everyone with lots of bedrooms as well as living spaces. The hot tub was fantastic and the pool and tennis court were a hit with the kids. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for preparing and serving food to our large family. The communication from Group Retreats leading up to our stay was excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again through them.

We just returned from a short break to The Plant House in Cropredy.
Great communication from Group Retreats prior to leaving and then from Rob & Sarah at the house once we arrived.
The house itself was stunning and we made use of the freshwater pool, hot tub and sauna. A few days wasn’t long enough.

Our family had a great stay at Ashfield Place - there was plenty of room for a large group, the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, and the pool and tennis courts were great. Everything was well maintained and clean and the hosts were extremely responsive, particularly the caretaker (Jason). Thanks for a great stay!

From the setting of the venue, the gift hamper on arrival and the property itself, everything was superb.
As a work retreat or a family gathering I can highly recommend Timberley House - just don’t tell everyone or it will be even harder to get a booking!!!

Great stay at the Planthouse - such a lovely place is unlikely to be available again at short notice but I highly recommend it! The outdoor natural swimming pool is a definite highlight and we loved the outdoor cooking facilities and made very good use of some local farm shops/butchers! Thanks Rob & Sarah

Great stay at the Glentworth Manor with my girls. The staff were super accommodating and attentive. Stuart, our caretaker, was a wonderful host and helped us start our bbq & took care of setting everything up for us. He was very respectful over our privacy and was very helpful.

A great time was had thanks to him, thank you!

We have just organised an impromptu family get together at Ashfield Place Farm and wow I am so glad we did!! From my two year nephew to my 85 year old grandmother, everyone had the best time. The grounds are just stunning and if you are lucky enough to enjoy Ashfield in the sunshine (like we did) then you will not be disappointed. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the staff have all been exemplary. From the moment of booking to our check out this morning, GroupRetreats could not have been more helpful. The caretaker is so friendly and accommodating, we truly felt so welcomed which set the tone for a great stay. I’m not usually one to write reviews but if you’re mulling over whether you should book a stay with GroupRetreats my advice would be to”do it now!!” You won’t regret it. We have made memories that will last a lifetime and I will treasure forever. We will be back again soon Ashfield.

We stayed In Abbey House in May for a birthday. The house was beautiful, it had everything we needed. The pool with the pool house is such a perfect setting on a hot day. Group retreats were really responsive with any queries we had. We would love to stay again!

We stayed at Milton House (Bedford) and were a group of 23, although the house can comfortably sleep up to 30. All of the comms beforehand were super helpful and meant we knew all about the facilities etc before our arrival. The house itself is fantastic and there is plenty of space for a large group to relax and have fun. The grounds are beautiful, pool and pool area are a great space to relax whatever the weather and the games room and tennis courts are a bonus. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic. Sometimes photos on websites can be misleading, Caer Beris looks good on the website but we were blown away by the real thing. It’s a home away from home if you live in a classy, stylish historic stately home with beautifully kept gardens and grounds and a rambling river running though it. From the river with kingfishers and herons to the outdoor heated pool to the hot tub to the pond and rose garden outside is breathtaking. Inside the rooms manage to be both grand and cosy. The house allowed us as a group of family and friends to celebrate the wedding at the wonderful Nant Gwyllt Chapel and the catering and grand domestic kitchens, meant that all 42 of us were royally fed and had the space to cook together and allow our chef to excel. Each bedroom is individual and well presented and the welcome and care of Andy the caretaker was first class. In fact the whole experience could be summed up in the word class. Caer Beris was a dream come true in a beautiful part of the county. Diolch yn fawr.

We stayed at Saham Grove Hall in February to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday, and it was the perfect setting for a special family weekend. The property exceeded all our expectations and made the occasion truly memorable.

There were 14 adults and 5 children in our group, and the house accommodated us all with ease. The large, spacious bedrooms and generous family gathering areas meant everyone had room to relax and enjoy themselves. The games room kept the kids (and adults!) entertained, and the hot tub was a real treat.

Everything was spotless, well-equipped, and ready for us on arrival. The booking process with Group Retreats was smooth and professional from start to finish.

We made so many wonderful memories and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Saham Grove Hall to anyone planning a group celebration or getaway.
