Miami Greenmotion. We did not end up picking up a car... Why? Because I was quoted a low rate, read all the fine print, had copies of my extra collision insurance (since they insist you have it) copies of my personal insurance thru Farmers etc etc. Covered all my bases so they had nothing to up sell. Guess what? They claimed my credit card was declined and that that canceled my reservation. They insisted that I make a new reservation. I called my credit card... A charge for the $2000 deposit had never been presented. So it was all a bogus bait and switch tactic to start with. PS: in the two hours we were there I saw four other renters leave without getting a car because they insisted on $70 per day collision insurance and other bogus stuff. People came in expecting a $100+/- rental and were quoted $295 or more plus a $200 or larger deposit that would be refunded after two weeks!

We received our invoice and they charged us 29.00 per .50 toll x7. Seven! We called and spoke to the Customer Service Manager, who would not budge or transfer to a superior. Yes, we signed the contract. But based on false information. Shady. Beware

I had a reservation with Green Motion, and this was by far the worst rental experience I’ve ever had.
My flight was delayed, and by the time I arrived, they had canceled my reservation without my consent. When I got to their location, I was told there were no cars available and that there was nothing they could do to help. I was essentially left stranded with no transportation.
To make matters worse, the pickup instructions were completely misleading. The email stated there would be clear signage for the shuttle—there wasn’t. After running around trying to figure out where to go, I finally found a number to call for pickup, but it didn’t work. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a small shuttle van with no clear direction or communication.
After finally getting to their location, I was turned away with no solution offered. I had to take a shuttle back to the airport and scramble to find another rental, which forced me to book with Hertz at a significantly higher price.
The most frustrating part is that I was not refunded for my original reservation, and I never even received a notification that it had been canceled.
This was a completely unacceptable experience from start to finish. Lack of communication, poor organization, and zero customer support. I would strongly advise others to avoid renting from this company.

Rented an economy car at LAX for a week. The car was nice and the price was great but be aware of the upsells. If you are not planning on buying their insurance coverage, plan on providing every detail of your personal coverage, signing some paperwork, and then putting down a large deposit. I heard that they may only accept coverage from certain companies so may want to check and if you can’t provide any then you must buy it. Toll reader is $15/day if you want one. Return was fast and easy.

On arrival - aggressive selling of all types + aggressive contract formulation on all exclusions. Tricking customers by sending them back to wait and asking small side questions before you get to final signature.
Car type was not available - without any comment tried to give us a small Kia.
On complaint got a really rude reaction “waiting is free - you are welcome to wait until an SUV comes in, but don’t know when”. Kept arguing and was “upgraded” to a larger SUV.
Car buck was only 1/3 fuelled.

My experience with Green Motion at Fort Lauderdale was beyond disappointing.
The wait at the front desk was excessive, and there was no acknowledgment or sense of urgency from the staff. The employees getting the car ready were rude and dismissive. To make matters worse, the signage was poorly placed and gave incorrect directions for returning the vehicle, adding unnecessary frustration to the process. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority as simple questions were met with attitude rather than professionalism.
Overall, this was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had. Save yourself the hassle and choose another company for your local car rental needs

They gave us a car with mechanical problems. Extreme vibration. Supposedly a low price, but when they add other costs, the total price is far too high compared to other companies. I think next time I’ll go with TURO.

We had a car reserved, which they had even sent a separate email regarding pick up instructions on the day of. We arrived at the airport at 7:05 and followed another couple to the assigned shuttle pick up spot. There was already a man there yelling about how the shuttle was late and the office was closed for calls. We waited until 7:45 only to find out from another companies shuttle driver that Green Motion closes at 8:00 and would not be sending any other shuttles out. The person at the customer service general number was of no help. Told us we had to come back tomorrow and could not get a refund. So we had to Uber to and from our hotel. Ended up using a different rental service the following day because of terrible reviews and zero helpful customer service. DO NOT USE GREEN MOTION!!

They shouldn’t even get one star they are manipulative and deceitful and once they shuttled you off premises they try to make you pay over $250 for insurance stating they don’t take your company or if they do like mine which is State Farm don’t accept the liability limits. Rather then pay them I called my insurance agent raised my liabilities in front of them when I showed them they said they cancelled my reservation and had no more cars . They did this too all twenty people online all who were unaware and felt backed into a corner to pay this was the Fort Lauderdale airport location on 6th

I haven't seen a cart rental company try to rip you off so blatantly in my life. There are well over 100 different companies to get car insurance from. On the counter they had about 4 car insurance companies listed that they accept, and if yours isn't one of those they wanted me to pay over $300 to insure the car (using their company). We have AAA. I think they are reputable. Our insurance levels are high. Then when I said forget it. They suggested the guy who has an office in their building with some company you, me and nobody ever heard of who would take my insurance. There's a real scam there.
This is the Miami office. They said to read the fine print from Priceline regarding their rules. Nothing mentions their ridiculously short list of acceptable insurance companies.
If you don't look into Reddit (who mentions Miami specifically in the comments) and other sources after reading this good luck! You deserve the screwing coming your way.
Go to a company you heard of before. You're not saving anything here.

Rented a car at the Tampa airport from Green Motion on Fri, 1/16/26 around 6 pm. 2 days later I was pulled over in Madeira Beach due to expired license tabs (the tabs on the car were 7 months expired). The officer said I should call Green Motion and get the expired tabs taken care of immediately, or I could be subject to a $500 fine. Not a great way to start a vacation. I called the Green motion Rental office first thing the following morning (1/26) and made them aware of the problem. The employee first told me that someone probably peeled the tab sticker off the license plate, and said it happens often. Then she said I could bring the car back and they'd give me another rental, or they could e-mail me the tab registration so I could prove that the registration was current (not ideal, since I didn't want to get pulled over again, but was a better option than spend 2 hrs in traffic to drive back). I finally told her she could e-mail me the registration. By the next morning (1/27), I still hadn't received the e-mail, so I called them again and asked the Manager's name. She said the Manager's name was Maria, and told me she'd have Maria call me back. By the next day. I still hadn't received a call back, so I called back again and told the employee (sounded like the same one) I was still waiting to hear from Maria, and she again said she'd have Maria call me back. 2 days later I STILL hadn't heard back, so I brought the car back, since we were flying home that day (at least I didn't get pulled over again). I asked for the franchise owner's name (Francisco Cuadrado?) and said I would be calling him when I got home (I haven't yet, but this will be my next step). Needless to say, this is the worst rental car experience I've had to date (I'm 68 years old), and it put a damper on what was an otherwise enjoyable vacation. I'll wait for your response.

This company is the absolute worst company to rent a car from. They use the old bait and switch. They tell you one price to get you there and then when you get there they charge an extreme amount to cover their insurance. I paid for insurance and the rental for 125 I get there and I "need" their insurance bc my instance although accepted by them does not cover the required 300,000 liability. My insurance has been accepted by Hertz, Enterprise and so forth with that same amount. Avoid this company and if you didn't the BBB has an open claim against them join in.

I rented from Green Motion at Miami Airport (MIA) on December 29, 2025, and experienced what I can only describe as a deceptive sales tactic designed to force customers into purchasing unnecessary insurance.
Despite booking in advance, I was never informed that a $300,000 liability coverage limit would be required until I arrived at the rental counter. The automated pre-arrival email I received one day prior contained no mention of this specific requirement. This appears to be an intentional omission to catch customers off-guard when they're already committed to the rental.
When confronted with this requirement at the counter, I immediately updated my personal insurance policy to meet the $300,000 limit through my provider (Allstate) before completing the transaction. I provided valid documentation proving the coverage was active, yet the agent still charged me for their insurance.
After multiple email exchanges with their customer service representative, Green Motion has refused to refund the insurance charge, claiming the coverage wasn't valid "at the time of rental" - despite my documentation proving otherwise. They've been unresponsive to reasonable requests and dismissive of evidence.
This feels like a bait-and-switch scheme: withhold critical information until customers are at the counter with limited options, then force them to pay for unnecessary coverage or lose their reservation.
I've had to dispute this charge with my credit card company and am filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau. I strongly recommend avoiding Green Motion and choosing a more transparent, customer-friendly rental company.

They operate like a scam—quoting very low prices and then forcing customers to purchase their insurance, even when the renter already has valid coverage. Although my insurance covered the required amount, it wasn’t on their approved list, so they insisted I buy their insurance at an exorbitant price. Even their cars are old. Please avoid this company and choose a reputable provider instead, even if the rental cost is higher.

I had a reputed coverage and proof while checking the car out. But your agent was not interested to reviewing it.
There were other customers with similar frustration at the counter (so this is not a new issue). Moreover, 2000$ hold is something I never heard of. Not every customer will have a a limit for you to hold 2000$.
Yes, they do take advantage, people please be aware before you make a booking here.

Agent deceived me saying I needed more insurance and she would not take no for an answer. I initialed and now my credit card or the Florida BBB won’t do crap about it. They also tried to say we scratched a hubcap. Very dishonest and deceitful. Let’s put them out of business to save headaches for anyone else.

The worst car rental experience — borderline scam.
If you live in the USA or Canada, be extremely careful booking with this company (especially through third-party sites). They do NOT clearly disclose that you cannot decline their insurance, unless you are arriving from another country. This is NOT mentioned during booking and only revealed at the counter, forcing you to pay hundreds more.
This location was the Fort Lauderdale branch, and the problems didn’t stop there:
The car was not washed, and I had to wait even longer.
The car smelled bad.
The bumper was glued on, which is unacceptable.
I had to record multiple videos before leaving because I didn’t trust they wouldn’t try to blame me for existing damage upon return.
Overall, this company uses misleading practices and pressures customers into unnecessary insurance. Save yourself the stress and money—rent from a major, reputable car rental company where you can decline insurance if you already have coverage.
I would never rent here again.

I booked a car online thru Expedia. Due to the high demand, Expedia sent me to Green Motion rental. As soon as I walked inside the rental place there were customers complaining and arguing with the clerck at the desk. They wanted me to pay 2,000 dollars security deposit even if my insurance was from their approved list of car insurance. The clerck was rude and did not speak good english. I decided to cancel the rental due to the insurance scam just to find out that Expedia will not reimburse my money!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLOWNS!!!
