Bought a used 1930's door from Green Doors, I purchased it online, and although they don't normally deliver free items, which I didn't realise, but because their website let me pay for delivery in full they phoned me to say they are going to deliver it to me and arranged delivery in a couple of weeks time as part of another schedule.

I thought that was truly decent of them to honour the sale - I said I could cancel but they said no need because they hope to deliver within 2 weeks.

The delivery was £60 but the pair of doors would be way more than this for authentic 1930's bubble glazed patio doors. I know the glass will be an issue so will art-deco the bottom 800mm as per Building Regs, but they will be fantastic as a room divider to replace my old conservatory door.

After buying it the day before, yesterday, they phoned to say they could deliver ASAP tomorrow (as in TODAY) if possible for me - yes, if possible for me - well I don't know what to say - what a fantastic service on top of a fantastic ECO friendly way to buy RARE and also brand new doors.

SUCH A FANTASTIC eco friendly ETHOS and A FANTASTIC - FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL SERVICE ETHOS TOO that GREEN DOORS possess.

There arn't many companies these days that can boast such a thing - let alone be driven by it. Green Doors proved they walk the talk and smashed it on my first experience with them.

What an excellent, friendly and professional company with not just a good range of secondhand doors (at decent prices too) but very helpful staff from start to finish. I bought an unusual crittall-style window for my office which would have cost perhaps £10k new from a bespoke manufacturer. Within a few days of ordering I got the (perfect finish) same window for less than £600. Great service and a go to companhy now for all windows and doors.

Wanted to replace my 1970's aluminium patio doors that were in general poor condition, were falling out of the frame, and couldn't be opened due to this.

I was reluctant to buy new UPVC (for environmental and cost reasons). It took around a year of searching periodically for something of similar dimensions, and voila... eventually some sliding patio doors of nearly perfect dimensions and correct opening side came up on Green Doors.

The ethos of this company is fabulous in all regards. I am very much a 'waste not want not' person, and very aware there is no 'away' when throwing something away (which I why I don't throw things away!). I also love their family run style and cohesive team. When I rang to reserve the doors (whilst waiting to hear back from my carpenter fitter), the owner's mother answered and was very helpful. Delivery was great (01/06/23); Mark the driver was incredibly helpful and informative and took the time with my carpenter to explain some of the ins and outs of the fitting. My carpenter did a great job with the fitting and we have now for a year (only just got round to this feedback) had great patio doors that slide beautifully and we can use with ease. Thank you Green Doors.

The good bits: loved the ethos and green ethics of the company. I always try and reuse, recycle and upcycle where possible so it was a no-brainer when I came across Green Doors in the process of looking to purchase a couple of windows and French doors for a new garden studio. The purchase process was easy and they were very helpful when I called a couple of times prior to placing the order on 16 March.

The mediocre bits: the communication about when delivery would take place was sketchy - after hearing nothing for week, I contacted them to be told that it would be scheduled by the driver when they were next delivering in the area. Eventually received the windows and doors on 2nd April, so a couple of weeks in total - not too bad.

The not so great bits: the windows and doors were installed about 3 weeks after receipt (stored appropriately during that period). Discovered that the top opener on one of the windows would not open - handle would only lift a short way and mechanism would not disengage. Contacted Green Doors and there followed an 8 week battle to get them to inspect the window or allow me to get someone to inspect it and the cost be covered by Green Doors in the event of it being a manufacturing fault. All the way through they were pushing for me to accept that it was an install fault, despite providing photos, videos and direct communication between my installer and their technical team. Finally they sent someone to inspect the window who determined that it was in fact a faulty gear mechanism and therefore a manufacturing fault. New part ordered and two weeks later the guy returned to fix the window. In total this took 10 weeks to resolve.

Would I recommend Green Doors? From an environmental and ethical perspective, yes. From a customer service perspective, hmmmm. Jury is out. Definitely some improvements to be made in this department.
