The trip became very tiring, changing so many trains, handling of baggage, walking involved with the baggage, even we had to walk to our hotel. The main hotel where we spent five nights was very average, even the staff at the hotel was non cooperative, menu was much below par, lack of variety in food.
Wonderful journey ! Brilliant tour guide
Excellent itinerary and tour manager. All inclusive became good value when you discovered how expensive food and drink are in Switzerland. Not the best country for gluten free, so need to be vigilant if coeliac, as hotel make a couple of errors. Need to be fairly fit as one afternoon was 4 trains and a bus and a journey of seven hours with luggage, which included top deck a train. Strasbourg is a great stopover with several hours free to explore

A fantastic rail journey through Switzerland, seeing beautiful picturesque villages, staying in lovely hotels and a great Tour Manager who kept us all together !
Friendly tour manager and fellow travellers. Good hotels. Outstanding views and destinations but be prepared to change trains to reach those destinations.
The scenery through the Alps was spectacular. I’ve taken one star away as the walk from Gard du Nord to Gard L’est was a struggle in the heat dragging cases. Our tour manager was extremely helpful, giving clear instructions re trains, platforms and carriages and managed to keep our large group altogether.
Very good hotels in Strasbourg & Basel and a good service from Tiefencastel hotel

Would have been perfect if there hadn't been badly coped with French train problems both there and back! But it certainly hasn't put us off using Great Rail Journeys again!
Fantastic scenery, great food at the hotel in Tiefencastel, and Cristine was terrific as our tour leader, even with some very short and sometimes difficult train connections. She was able to accomodate the less mobile members of our group and was very careful to ensure that no one got too far behind. This was a truly memorable trip, and no one minded that we saw a lot of snow on a couple of the routes into the higher elevations - it turned the forests into wonderlands and made for some fantastic photos.
Hi.An excellent holiday.A excellent tour leader who went over and above to make the holiday memorable. This is our seventh holiday with Great Railway Journeys and we’ve got another one to look forward to in July. All have been excellent.
