Recently bought a used caravan
Recently bought a used caravan from these at the Retford branch, honestly couldnt recommend them enough, looked at a few caravans and they knew everything about each one, nothing was to much. Picked our new to us caravan up at the weekend and everything was perfect, weekly updates about what was going off and to top it off a free night away with any caravan bought. Also bought a hitch cover from these and seem really good quality. Highly recommended!!!
Great Service & Grantham Retford

First class service
First class service, when I arrived at Grantham caravans at Retford Sheila who was on reception made me very welcome and talked me through everything and booked my pickup time for the next day. Highly recommend Grantham caravans service department.
Delay after delay...
Took our caravan here for service and never again. Received a call a day before collection with advisories, most of which we agreed to have done, which delayed collection. Again the day before collection I received a call to say that they were only just working on it but couldn't source a part, as I couldn't delay collection again I had to collect with work not done, as it was a seal I agreed for them to send it on and I would fit myself. 2 weeks later part still not arrived! After having spoken to people, this is not an isolated incident so we won't be back
Purchase of new caravan
Initially when contacting Grantham's regarding the purchase of a touring caravan they replied and answered to queries quickly and efficiently even if a member of staff was out of the business and also followed my preferences method of communication. On viewing the caravan the salesman Chrstian got the sales pitch just right between selling us the caravan but not being pushy and gave us time to make a decsion he was also really honest about a couple of issues on the caravan from the start which was appreciated, also was honest if he didnt know the answer to something rather then usual salesman's patter which again we appreciated. After paying deposit it went downhill it seemed that Grantham's weren't interested in us and getting a handover date booked in, on paying deposit we was told 4 weeks. Felt if we didnt chase them nothing would happen on the sale. Eventually we got date booked in but felt we was the ones pushing it along and they would come up with excuses to keep putting it off. On handover the process was brilliant from the video I received from Gary on how everything worked, and also he answered questions i had confidently and honestly. I loved the video idea as I had a point of reference for anything I might forget in future. The part exchange on our van was excellent form Mark aswell despite a couple of issues on our 16 year old van the price agreed was honoured no questions asked. We had an issue with door lock on departure and as it was bank holiday no one was in the workshop was on hand to offer expert advice but Gary done his best to sort it out there and then.
I feel the biggest issue with this branch is it feels like they need a couple more staff members to make the sales process smoother.

My 2nd service with Grantham's Retford, easy booking and achieved a quick turnaround before the easter break.

Poor after sales
We bought a motorhome in 2025, and while the sales team were lovely and welcoming, our experience quickly became frustrating due to a lack of transparency and poor aftercare.
Some key details about the vehicle were not disclosed at the point of sale. For example, the previous owner had replaced the media system with one that didn’t include sat nav, which we only discovered later. The rear-view camera also didn’t work initially. Although it was repaired, the quality remained very poor, and we were told that Bailey rear-view cameras are “notoriously poor,” so no further action would be taken.
On our first trip to Spain, things took a turn for the worse. When opening the midi Heki roof light, it literally fell off in my hands. It was clear the unit had been previously damaged and had been poorly glued along the hinge. Photos supported this, yet when we raised a claim, we were told it must have been caused by leaving it open and it being hit—something we absolutely did not do.
As a result, our entire six-week holiday was spent without a functioning roof light. This was not only inconvenient but also stressful, especially in bad weather. We had to improvise by climbing onto the roof and covering the opening with plastic sheeting to prevent rain from getting in.
Granthams ordered a replacement part in September 2025, but by March 2026 it still hadn’t arrived. While we understand supply delays can happen, over six months was ridiculous and more could have been done to source the part elsewhere. In the meantime, despite our best efforts to seal the gap, we experienced ongoing leaks which led to soaked carpets and further frustration. In the end, we sourced the part ourselves from another dealer, and it arrived within two weeks.
The warranty was extremely disappointing and felt virtually worthless. Every possible reason was used to avoid paying out, and it was frankly insulting to be told we had caused the roof light damage when it was clearly pre-existing and should have been identified before sale.
That said, Sheila in aftersales was always polite, helpful, and understanding of the situation, though it was clear her ability to assist was limited.
We do now have a lovely motorhome, but based on our experience, particularly with aftercare and warranty support, we would not choose to buy from Granthams again.
Caravan, Sale or Return'.
We have always taken our Caravan to Grantham's in Retford for service and repair and received great service from all the team there.
When we decided to sell our caravan, Grantham informed us that they have now started to operate a ' sale or return' policy. The caravan was sold within 2 weeks. The price we got from Grantham's was very competitive and a lot higher than we could have got as a trade in. Yet again and not surprisingly, great service, friendly, polite and informative. Cannot thank them enough

Everything from start to finish was brilliant. Excellent customer service and quality product at a fantastic price.
Will definitely be recommending to my friends and will return for all of my future servicing and other caravan needs.

Brilliant Service!!! From when we first went to look for a new caravan Christian was great help. till the handover of the caravan that was organised by Gary who was brilliant!! And not to forget Mark who was always happy to help on the phone.
Bought our Benimar Mileo 294 in October…
Bought our Benimar Mileo 294 in October last year from these guys and all I can give them is positive feedback. Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. We had a couple of jobs that we needed sorting out and they’ve sorted everything we asked. If I was asked if I’d recommend Granthams of Retford without any hesitation I’d say yes. Sheila,Dean,Christian and the gang are brilliant.

Sheila Randall was incredibly helpful in after-sales with the Elddis Campervan that I purchased. It is reassuring to know that there is someone who appears to genuinely care about customer satisfaction. I had issues with my newly purchased, pre-owned van and required a couple of jobs to be completed before travelling to Europe. This was achieved in time thanks to Sheila & Dean
Purchase of a 2nd Hand Caravan
We recently purchased a 2nd hand caravan. Christian in sales was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Being new to the caravan world he guided us to a caravan he thought would best suit our family and needs. He was attentive, patient and gave us time to ask a lot of questions.
Grantham's were very honest about the caravan and even picked up there was slight water ingress which they were not happy with and they wanted to address it. This was something we would never have noticed.
Being a 2nd hand caravan there were a couple of minor issues that arose after picking it up.
We were passed on to Shelia in warranty who did a great job in sorting everything out. We are very much looking forward to the Summer and utilising the caravan as much as possible. We would highly recommend Grantham's for purchasing a 2nd caravan and very glad we choose them! We also received a complementary night at a local Caravan Site which was a nice touch and much enjoyed. Thank You Granthams!
First Trip Out
First time using our caravan and we couldnt get the water to work and there was a strong smell of gas when turned it on so immediately turned off . We took it back on the sunday to be checked over, we left it with them , the engineers did a full gas check and looked at why we wasnt getting water through. Turns out the gas was fine and we did something wrong regarding the water, thats why we didnt have any . Both things resolved. Not once were me made to feel like we were daft or silly, they understood our worries and knowing we are new to this they put our minds at rest. The staff here are the best, couldnt fault any of them, they feel more like our friends already in the short time of knowing them. Thanks to all of you, mandy & keith henrys.
Caravan Service
Just had our new Caravan (Last year) Serviced at there Retford Branch ! Friendly Super service kept me informed and updated throughout the whole event !
Shelia and the service team, went above and beyond, would definitely recommend them.
Looking forward to using them again !
