HORRENDOUS!

HORRENDOUS!! And doesn’t even begin to describe the 2 hours wasted attempting to take an online test for a job position. I had 2 customer service reps hang up on me because they couldn’t offer any assistance. I had 4 different proctors disconnect me. Finally, a fifth transferred to tech support and they proceeded to tell me everything was fine and there was no problem on either end. AND THEN THEY DISCONNECTED ME! This company is disgraceful and why any employer would choose them, is beyond me. They are literally screwing with people’s livelihoods! SHAME!!!

My exam was supposed to begin at 11:30…

My exam was supposed to begin at 11:30 est. I had my brand-new laptop ready to go. I had everything ready. It took 1 hour for the proctor to show up and 1.5 more hours to load Google Chrome (did not ask permission) he went through my desktop on my laptop, into folders that were not open and to ice the cake, when it was time to put the Exam ID and password in, the proctor kept putting it in wrong. By the time I finally got to take this awful test, it was so late, and I was a nervous wreck. Regrettably, I will not take any more tests because this was a horrible experience!!! If I could give you NO STARS that would be the true rating. You are not even one star!

Horrible

I have written 8 exams through Proctoru and I have had problems EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The last time it took an hour and 45 minutes for them to tell me that my system wouldn't allow them to connect, despite the fact that I had just written an exam with them 3 weeks prior (only started 20 minutes late that time). This website is the absolute worst and I would definitely recommend trying to find an invigilator that you can write in person with.

My Outlier Experience with ProctorU

I took my Restaurant ServSafe Exam through ProctorU. I set my session start time at 9:10pm, after some difficulties caused by the Guardian Browser, froze up multiple times due to it using 100% of my CPU and RAM causing me to have to restart my pc and claiming i lost internet connection and that it was weak when I was next to the router and my computer said it was connected fine, I was able to start my exam after the tech just launched my test on EDGE instead of Guardian. After switching browsers everything worked perfectly and I passed my exam. I ended up spending about 45 trying to get setup up and start.

The WORST experience and service

This is a terrible proctoring service. My first exam I took with them, they told me my camera wasn't working and sent me to their tech support. Tech support got it working and I was able to complete my exam with no issues. The second exam I attempted to take today. It is 3:22 and my exam was scheduled for 9:50am. I still have been unable to take the exam. For 3 hours I went back and forth between tech support and proctors while the proctors told me that my camera didn't work right after tech support told me it was working and everything was up and running. They continued to remote into my computer, then rebooted my computer 2-3 times. After 4-4.5 hours they told me that my computer was the problem and I would not be able to take tests on their platform with that computer (less than a year old computer) and that my only option was to have another computer. I attempted to reschedule the exam at which point I was told that everything had been done that could be done. They refunded me my money, at my demand, no offers were made by them to rectify the situation. Throughout this multiple "employees" would tell me "I'm going to disconnect now" and would end the chat in the middle of the chat. Unfortunately I still need to get this test done so I tried to take the test with my dad's older computer and was told I would have to pay for it since they refunded me and would have to pay the extra fee to "take it now". I was told my only option was to use a different computer and pay for the schedule, but was not told that they could guarantee the exam would work. They offered to do the "test my equipment" to see if the new computer would work, however I had previously tested my original computer and was told it would work so their system is not reliable. I will never use this proctoring service again and will be complaining to my institution as well.

Shame on you

Shame on you, I can’t believe you would charge me extra protectors, $9.09, 9.09 DOLLARS on three different time. That among is 27 DOLLARS, you ass, that money would have bought be 5 mcflurry, I’m broke af, and you guys still ripping me off, I have screenshots and I need justice. If I had money I would have sue you.

Expect to wait and get little help

I scheduled my test for a certain time and logged on to see they had set a timer for an hour later than my scheduled time. Confirmed I got the right time zone and tried to call--the customer service reps seem to be overseas outsourced and couldn't offer any valid help. I tried the live chat and was just told 'wait till the timer runs out' and the chat was closed. Why bother even scheduling a time if there's that much discrepancy between it and when you're willing to provide the test?

Wait times and invasion of privacy. Proctors you cannot underatand. Always long wait to be connected. Terrible service and people. Im writing this review during my 15+min wait to connect. 0/10. Truly a bad experience.

Worst service and support

Where do I even begin. I gave my mom my computer to take the test and now my computer is slower and my camera is broken. I called the support and they refused to help me and hung up. What is wrong with these people this is probably the worst service and support you can find on the internet. It's literally like they are running a scam

All I can say is don't use them

All I can say is don't use them! Their rues are to strict, they control your computer. They can see everything on your computer. Wouldn't allow me to take test at a library. Said i had to go to a town 100 miles away to a certified proctors house to take the exam.

7.5 hours to take a simple test because of their general incompetence. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had with any company in my life. No exaggeration. Proctors are the support people which is odd. How do I know? In 7.5 hours the same 8 fools played proctor and support and were inept at both. If there was a rating system below 1 these fools would find it.

It's been nothing but a nightmare with…

It's been nothing but a nightmare with them. I'm taking my exams to graduate. They are important for me to take. I have had an anxiety attack and a headache. The proctoring service people are rude. However I match energy. They have clicked in private files. They have kept their mic on so I hear their background noise when asked them to mute they laughed. It is a shame institutions use this service as it causes so much added stress. Hands down the worst.

If I could take the only star I gave…

If I could take the only star I gave back I would! I’m at a lost for words right now I had two exams scheduled for 10:00 and 12:50 on Sunday 4 hours later they finally was able to get me connected to my 10 o’clock Exam by that time I was frustrated I had a headache unfocused Then they reschedule my other exam for today at 5 o’clock. I want you to know it’s 9 o’clock and they still have not got me connected to take my exam. I would not go to now another school that participate with proctor u.

Absolutely awful company. Why are they still in business?

Absolutely awful company. Disgraceful. Went to do my exam with them and they said I had to download their browser. ok. Then they said they to remote into my computer. ok. Then they started changing settings. tried to tuen off my bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I told them not to do that but they still did it anyway. I had to restart my computer to get the keyboard and mouse reconnected. Then they said they couldn't see under my desk I said I have an iMac the camera is built in I cant show you under the desk as the computer is on the desk and wired in. they then said they couldn't see all 4 walls around me. I turned the computer round as far as it would go but that wasnt enough for them. I felt like the whole exercise (which took over an hour) was to get me to switch off and give up (which eventually and reluctantly I did).
Absolutely awful company. Why are they still in business? Did they even care?

The platform is a disgrace.

In my PRACTICE EXAM the proctor said I wasn't allowed a mail box on my desk (which weighed 15kgs). Even though I told him it was not a restricted item (and had no writing on it etc) he said I had to remove it to which I responded I couldn't, I would need my partner to do it for my REAL exam since I am 6 months pregnant (and am not allowed to lift even my toddler at this point who weighs less). Nonetheless, he insisted I remove it and that if I didn't he wouldn't proceed with the exam. Then, after not allowing me to proceed, they sent me an email saying I had cancelled the exam - which I had not. Suchhhh a terrible platform and stupidly complicated without concern for students who are simply trying to get through their exam period or in my case, simply testing my equipment. In addition to this, I couldn't understand anything the proctor was saying with his thick accent. Every time I said "sorry, what was that" he would get angry and kept asking whether my speakers were working... I then had to respond that everything was working fine and simply that I can't understand HIM. Th constant clarifying took up so much time in my practice test and is absolutely ridiculous when we just need to get through our exams.

Do NOT use this

I wish I could give something lower than 1 star. My exam did not begin until almost 3 hours after the start time. I called tech support several times and everyone was rude and very unhelpful. Do not use this company for your test. I urge you to make other arrangements.

Horrible Experience

Proctor rebooted my computer because the exam portal wouldn’t load. This cost me 40 minutes of my exam time because I couldn’t reconnect. I went back and grabbed a sibling’s laptop to complete the test, and in the middle a second proctor started yelling at me because my blank scratch paper (which was allowed in my exam) wasn’t directly in front of me. The rules for my particular exam state that talking during the exam wasn’t allowed. The constant interruptions disrupted my test taking mood and caused me to lose my train of thought multiple times. I ended the exam earlier than I should’ve because I couldn’t concentrate anymore.

If I could give them a zero I would. This proctoring service was awful and made test day a complete nightmare. I would advise anyone to bite the bullet and test at a testing location rather than use these fools for an At Home Proctor. I was scheduled to take my Praxis at home this morning. Prior to the exam time I had done my computer system check with the praxis secured browser. Everything was smooth until the proctor came on. She began adding things and downloading things to my computer. It was evident that she had no computer experience. She finally got me to the praxis ETS secured browser and put my password and test ID in. An error message popped up. Saying my computer wasn’t secure so she rebooted my computer. It took her 15 minutes to reboot the computer. She put the code in again, and now it said I could not complete the exam because the code had already been used. She proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t her fault and I needed to contact the Praxis website. All I am saying is if the proctor knew what she was doing she wouldn’t have used the code twice, or continually added and deleted items on my computer. At one point she deleted everything in my computers recycling bin. I don’t want anyone else to be in this situation. Test days are already stressful enough and to add a proctor that doesn’t know what is going on just makes things worse. Speaking from experience, avoid this proctoring service like the plague. Also the proctor was difficult to understand.
