After many years of dentist avoidance, and painful dentist experiences- I found Gentle Dentistry. I thought about going after seeing their website for a couple of years, because of going private and the costs.

But it was so worth it. I had to have root canal - but I have never felt so ‘in control’ of what was happening to me. Everything was explained, they fully understood my anxiety, and I had for the first time TRUST. All went really well. I recommend.

I had an excellent experience at Gentle Denistry. The staff are welcoming, professional, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. Daniel took the time to explain everything clearly and answered all my questions and concerns, which really helped put me at ease. The practice is clean, modern and well organised, and my appointment started right on time. I truly appreciate the care and attention to detail - I couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great dentist!

Over the years I have had many dental treatments with Dan. I have severe dental phobia so I’m never an easy patient & forcing myself into the practice is not easy😂
However Dan has always been amazing, truly professional, knowledgable and passionate about his field yet also hugely patient and kind.
I have never experienced any pain and the only anxieties I experienced were in my own head.
I would genuinely recommend Dan and his whole team to anyone! Especially if you are nervous about Dental treatment.
The practice is beautiful and doesn’t feel too clinical which helps you feel comfortable and all the staff are friendly and treat you so kindly.

As someone who dislikes dental appointments I can genuinely say gentle dentistry is just that, gentle. Cutting edge tech removes the painful injections and the staff all absolutely amazing.

Brilliant, Kind, and Pain-Free!

I cracked a tooth yesterday and was in quite a lot of pain — not the kind of surprise anyone wants! Gentle Dentistry managed to see me quickly and fixed it absolutely brilliantly. Dan was kind, calm, and explained everything as he went, which really put me at ease.

The whole thing was completely pain-free (which still amazes me), and less than 12 hours later my mouth feels totally settled and comfortable again. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better care.

If you’re nervous about going to the dentist or just want someone who genuinely cares and does a great job, I can’t recommend Dan and his team enough.

As a very nervous dental patient, finding Gentle Dentistry has changed my life without sounding too dramatic. I now see Tess my kind & literally gentle hygienist every 4 months & it doesn’t upset my day. She is a magician & the whole experience walking into the practise is honestly ok. If you are like me, please come to this practise!

In my early twenties I experienced an over enthusiastic dental hygienist. Having never had any dental work done, my teeth were overly sensitive to hot and cold fluids and food for six months. The experience scarred me. I avoided going to the dentist for a decade. I lived with and tolerated tooth niggles regularly. I moved to Bournemouth in 2004 and reluctantly attended gentle dentistry to have an Impacted wisdom tooth removed. I was struck by the difference in my mind, the perceptual fear, and the real life experience of attending Gentle dentistry. This was in 2007.

Since then my reluctance has changed to appreciation. Appreciation of the care and skill that Dan Cattell and his team provide.

The environment at Gentle Dentistry is immaculate. Every detail to make your experience perfect is thought through. An example of this is during the covid pandemic Gentle Dentistry upgraded all of their surroundings to include state of the art air filtration so that the air was filtered and cleaned every 90 seconds. If you are an airborne pathogen, it is possibly the worst place in the world to be! The point I am trying to make is that every detail of the experience is flawless.

From being warmly welcomed every time by Izzy and Katie on the front desk to being followed up with phone calls afterwards “just to check in” no detail is too small and the entire experience has been totally thought through. It is wonderful.

The dentistry skill displayed over a 20 year period mean that my once chipped, stained, tartar encrusted teeth are now seen through a smile that I am proud of.

I haven’t had cosmetic dentistry, just regular Gentle Dentistry.

I’ve been seeing Gentile Dentistry for several weeks now and have had a consistently excellent experience. Every appointment has been met with warm, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The team takes the time to explain everything in detail, so I always know exactly what to expect. The aftercare has been exceptional, and I truly appreciate the attention and professionalism throughout the entire process. I’m excited to see the final results and would highly recommend Gentile Dentistry to anyone looking for outstanding dental care.

After having a lifelong dental phobia and putting off getting treatment I made an appointment with Dr Dimitri Papalexiou at the gentle dentistry in Southbourne , as soon as I walked in everyone was kind and reassuring and it was a very calming environment, very different to anything I had experienced before.
Dr Dimitri chatted through my options for treatment and at no time was I pressured or rushed. A plan was made for my treatment and I was soon able to start at my own pace .
I am so pleased with the results and will be forever grateful to Dr Dimitri for giving me back my smile
