Same story as everyone else - they say they will do something, then lie and tell you they can't do it and then ignore you once you try to sort things out,
I know that Covid has been extremely difficult for companies in the travel industry and I'm sure the administrative issues related to all the cancellations of flights have been nightmarish. But to outright lie to customers and then to just ignore them after being called on their lies is unforgiveable. Most of the people posting on this site have been in difficult circumstances and these clowns are taking advantage.
I hope this company goes down in flames and the owners/shareholders lose everything they put into it. Probably too much to ask, but a guy can dream...

This company is a big scam ! Please stay away, I did the biggest mistake of not checking the reviews before booking with this scam company, my flight was canceled before I was on the plane due to medical reasons, the air Canada and Air France refunded me through the agency, I have contacted the agency so many times to get my money back and they never answered me, I have sent them so many emails and called them so many times and they totally ignore me. They have charged me and now they don’t give my money back. Stay away from these scammers!

This is one of the worst airline booking site and should never book. very poor customer service. Its a big scam and they are cheating people. Company is in netherlands and having local canadian number to represent themselves as canadian. Stay away from them, just lost few hundered dollars.

I booked a flight with them for a family member to fly from Manila to Edmonton but the flight has to be cancelled due to COVID. I called several times Air Canada if the flight can be refunded and they said it is totally refundable but the travel agency has to do the request as I booked it thru Gate1. But Gate 1 dont want to refund my ticket. They offered that the booking can be rescheduled but they dont respond when i requested for a rescheduled date. They dont have a proper accessible phone to contact.. they respond to e-mail after several weeks which is totally poor service. Avoid booking with them! Horrible experience

I booked a flight with Gate 1 from Bangkok to Vancouver February 23 , 2021 , via ANA Air . ANA air canceled my flight due to Covid. Gate 1 says I must get my refund from the airline ( ANA Air ) The airline says I must get my refund from the travel agency ( Gate 1 )
I paid my $637 CDN to Gate 1. Gate 1 will not give me a credit or refund my money even though ANA Air canceled the flight because of Covid.

Gate1.ca is basically scam. If you book through them and travel as your plan it will be fine but the problem is when you need to cancel due to unexpected situation there is no way you can cancel. You will find out that they don't have phone number but an email form which you will be ignored by. Agents are supposed to help with booking/canceling easily!!!!! These guys are just one more step and charge you for nothing.

My flight canceled due to Covid-19 pandemic. It has been 6 months now and when i am trying to get my refund or credit they don’t reply. I am an international student and they just eat my money. I ask for refund so many times and they don’t reply at once. Please guide me what should i do? They literally eat 1300 CAD. It’s huge amount for me.

I booked my trip with this travel agent in January 2021 to fly in February 2021 from Vancouver Island BC Canada to London Ontario Canada. Due to covid, WestJet was changing flights, cancelling flights, etc., however, because of this, Westjet offered a 'no fee' change policy. My return flight had to be changed. First of all the flights Gate1 offered me were 32hour flights (it should only be a 7 hour trip including connections). I tried to phone Gate1 with no success. I emailed back and forth saying 'I do not accept this flight change', with no success. I emailed showing available flights Westjet offered, they didn't respond. Using their website proved useless as well. I finally had to call Westjet directly to get an acceptable flight home. Gate1 wanted to charge me a $75 'flight change' fee. Westjet did not charged me a 'flight change' fee. I would never use this company again. Terrible experience. That's what I get for trying to save $100 on my flight. It's worth the $100 to eliminate this headache from my life in the future

I booked my flights through them for British Airways round trip Toronto-Delhi. When I got the confirmation email ticket it turned out to be ticket for American Airlines operated by British Airlines.
What this does is that booked under American Airlines free checked luggage per person is only 1 while if booked under British Airways you get 2 free checked luggage’s.
Now because of these guys I will have to pay more for extra luggage both ways for every passenger.
I even looked into my snapshots because I take snapshots while booking a ticket and yes I did select British Airways. I even contacted other websites and price is roughly the same for British Airways including free 2 check in luggage’s. I have been trying to call these guys but they don’t have a phone number and I have also used their complaint form but no response.

I wish I could give these losers 0 stars! They don’t have a phone number to contact them. They only allow you to contact them through email and even though, they take forever to reply ou back. I’ve been trying to change my flight and sent them multiple email and haven’t heard nothing from them. It’s ridiculous how a company doesn’t have a phone number that we can reach immediately. Don’t waste your money with them. Horrible costumer service

Hands down the worst customer service for a travel booking site.
I'm well travelled....like, filled up my last passport before it expired. This is the first travel site review I have ever given because I truly hope you don't lose your money like I have.
My flight is eligible to be changed. I spoke with Gate1 and they said I could change my flight as long as i used the same airline. GREAT!
So come time to change...i fill out the booking request...and nothing but silence... at this point the flight prices keep going up and up ...still no reply..eventually i end up just booking through another site and the flight is now $150 more than when I looked because it's last minute AND i have the longest layovers.....gate 1 gets back to me two days before the flight with what still was not a confirmed booking
Sooooo i try again..to use my credit for another flight...after multiple emails with no reply, I get a standard response saying they are taking care of people who have bookings that are coming up sooner...
As anyone knows..the longer you wait the higher the prices...
Ive probably now sent 5-6 messages to rebook again ...still with no actual help...and once again...the flights have all gone up by $80 and will likely just continue ...so i've now just lost another $80 because this company is incapable of assisting people...
it just feels like a money grab to keep the credits at this point..

This is the worst travel agency ever DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I lost my passport the day before my flight (Saturday) and tried to contact them in order to change my outbound ticket (booked for Sunday), their offices are closed on weekends, but they still let you book tickets for weekends, so if there's an emergency and you have a weekend ticket basically you need to figure it out yourself. I tried to change my ticket with the airline but they told me I had to go through the travel agency, which was unreachable. I then got a hold of them during the week in order to change my outbound ticket that I had missed and that I couldn't change because THEY WERE UNREACHABLE. They told me there was nothing they could do for me. I found a way to travel and since my outbound ticket was wasted, I decided to change my inbound ticket, I have completed and sent the form they asked, it's been A WEEK and NO ONE has contacted me yet. It is almost Christmas and my inbound ticket is booked for a week from now. I need to change it urgently I've been waiting enough, but guess what, THEY STOPPED THEIR PHONE LINES. Their excuse: COVID19! They are apparently not able to handle the number of calls and changes required by PAYING CUSTOMERS. UNPROFESSIONAL AND USELESS. Thankfully I contacted the airline (Turkish Airlines) and they were extremely helpful and made the changes very quickly. DO NOT USE GATE1. They will NOT HELP if you have an emergency. Worst customer service ever BECAUSE IT DOES NOT EXIST.

I currently have a flight booked with them and I'm trying to change my flight which I have emailed them to do so. i received an email from them yesterday that my booking has been canceled and I haven't been able to reach anyone. I have sent multiple emails to them but yet no response. my departure date is fast approaching and I don't know what to do. Please advise.

Sadly my experience is like everybody else. There is no customer service number to contact them, and I have written three emails over three weeks, no reply. My flight is with westjet who charges zero cancellation or change fees now, but gate1 sure does charge. I will never use them again. Pay a couple dollars more and book directly with the airline
