After finishing my 4 weeks Gas Engineering course with Gastec, January 2025, I thought to also have a further qualification for the “job completion “.

The HWSS course taught by Surge was a must do. Not only the course teaches you how to safely install a hot water cylinder system safely and properly, it also teaches you how to wire up the whole system including controls and room thermostats.

I did the course on the 24-26 February 2025 and just received the certificate and card yesterday which also reminded me to write this review.

Apart from the fact that the course is really interesting and helpful, Surge made it even more pleasant by the way he teaches and the way he keeps the teaching on the interesting level at all times. The way he combines humour at the classroom with learning and passing information through to students is just a joy and pleasant.

For me it was a real enjoyment from start to finish of this Hot Water Storage System course and would highly recommend it.

Really good and thorough training. Friendly staff and great facilities.

I recently passed my ACS and used Gastec as part of my resettlement, When I initially rang up I spoke with Maria and she was very helpful and informative about the course.

Then moving on to the course I had Alan and Surge as my trainers. They both take a lot of time and effort to pass on the mountains of knowledge they both have.

I would like the say a massive thank you to the Gastec team. And I look forward to returning for more courses in the future.

I've recently completed the New Entrant Gas Course at Gastec, and I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The instructors (Surge & Alan) were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated to ensuring everyone understood the material thoroughly. The hands-on training was invaluable, and the facilities were top-notch.

One of the highlights of the course had to be Surge, our instructor who kept us entertained with his constant attempts at humor. Let's just say, his jokes were as unpredictable as a gas leak, but they definitely kept things interesting and light-hearted!

Overall, I highly recommend Gastec to anyone looking to enter the gas industry. The quality of training and the supportive atmosphere make it an exceptional place to start your career. Five stars all the way!

S & Y Plan and G3 Unvented course.
A brilliant course from start to finish. The course was packed with content that has really added to my knowledge and skill set. Taught by Surge, a sense of humour, thick skin and an over draft to pay for his lunch was required. He delivered the course in a manner that made learning fun and added value with his vast experience.

I attended the S plan and Y Plan wiring course with my instructor Surge. I will highly recommend the course and the instructor Surge

I have completed my ACS certification at Gastec Academy, covering:
• CCN1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT, and MET
• Electrics & HWSS (G3)

I also had a work placement with them, which was a great experience.

The instructors are highly knowledgeable and experienced. They are always willing to answer questions, no matter how many times you ask. The staff at Gastec are very friendly and helpful.

A special thanks to Surge for his incredible support both on-site and outside of work. his jokes definitely made the learning experience even better.

I will definitely be returning in the future and highly recommend Gastec Academy to anyone considering a domestic gas course.

Very nice and friendly Staff. Tutors are well experienced. Well setup workshop area. Big ups to Allan, great tutor. Love Serge for his humour.

What made the experience good, not Serg, disappeared for a holiday halfway through, thankfully left us with an actual trainer in Alan.

Everyone else at Gastec are top notch and a big thank you to everyone. I’d highly recommend to anyone to use Gastec for training and assessment. I’ve already done an additional course and look to do more.

Great facility!!! Went back to complete vented and unvented G3 course for hot water cylinders and it was a fantastic course tutored by a great gas engineer: Surge!! This man is on point and a great asset to the course/training and the business. Would recommend taking the G3 course as well as any other domestic gas related course due to the quality of teaching shown

Exceptional Institute with very experience instructors. Facilitated with great training resources for the students and the whole team are great to work with. Strongly recommended to those who wanted to be Gas Engineer.

I have just completed my acs qualification at gastec and it was fantastic. If you’re a gas engineer you’ll know how much of a headache it is having to take a week off to re do your qualification. It was my first time doing it outside of British Gas and The guys here are fantastic! You’re made to feel at home with complimentary drinks and it’s a really relaxed environment.

I will hundred percent be coming back here.

I’ve used Gastec many many times now and it has always been a very relaxed / friendly environment. Great staff, extremely knowledgeable and helpful during stressful exam times.
