I bought a mini from G5 cars
I bought a mini from G5 cars. Went to view it. Seemed good, fair price, normal age related marks.
Decided I would buy it, but it needed its "full RAC inspection" prior to release, this also included a road test. The car was "Fully serviced"......this comprised of oil change and filter change, nothing else. The discs and pads all round were new, only due to MOT.
So, 2 days later, arrive back. Cars sparkling, ready to go. Pay the £5150 drive home. I travel 70 miles, get home, engine light on. On board computer warning light on. Having an OBD reader, the VANOS system was knackered. The battery was knackered, then the oil pressure light came on. Being a Friday, the weekend passed. Contacted G5. They picked the car up on Monday afternoon, not on a recovery vehicle.....they drove it back, not only adding miles, but potentially worsening any issues. The next two weeks comprised of almost daily phone calls wanting updates. No clear answers from their "workshop". Every phone call presented further issues and was no further forward. So after 2 weeks i decided enough was enough. Phoned G5 for a full refund. I went back next day with the other key and documents. This was the morning of Weds 6th May. Car was still in the workshop, they "couldnt get to the bottom of its faults". Supplied my bank details, refunds can take up to 14 days. Takes a minute to bank transfer THEM the money, but 2 weeks to get my money back. DVLA have already refunded the money for the tax, yet im still £5150 down. But hey, guess what!!!! The mini, i bought, that ive not had the money back for yet.....was back up for sale on the afternoon of the 6th, less than 4 hrs after I left their office. Go on their site now....its there, for sale....immaculate! Its got more faults than a tennis player playing blindfolded (YG12GYH). Legally, im questioning how they can be selling a car than they still owe a customer money on? Nevermind selling a car that they KNOW has many faults?
