Had storm shield for approx 10 yrs was great. Robust, hardwearing etc. Bought a replacement & modern storm shield is grim. Broken after only light first use. Avoid, no comparison to what used to be.

I bought an Aerolite umbrella that broke after occasional use in light rain. Fulton said the damage was not down manufacturing but my use of it - based on photos .
Would never buy from Fulton again - there are far better options out there .

Customer service is awful. AVOID AVOID AVOID

I've had 3 Fulton umbrellas and they have been average at best. The most recent handheld one lasted me less than a year due to a manufacturing defect but when I reached out to customer service, they were able to put it down to "wear and tear". I only used it half a dozen times so how they managed to come to this conclusion from a photo is beyond me. The customer service is terrible. Offered me 20% discount for a new one. Switched to Repel. It is so miles better and the customer service is spot on. Avoid Fulton and go for a Repel who offer a lifetime warranty without hiding behind the "wear and tear" excuse.

Very poor customer care and poor quality umbrellas

Extremely disappointing experience with Fulton Umbrellas. Paid £26.99 an item appears worn on the handle which is clearly a design fault - I’ve used it 3 times for a short period and was extremely cautious when using it due to the high cost. Contacted to raise my concerns and request a replacement and there have been multiple emails back and forth. Basically they’ve put it down to wear and tear which makes no sense given the circumstances. They’ve refused to replace it and I’ve completely wasted my time even trying. I’ve not been asked to contact the manager - which I see from other reviews has been pointless too as the outcome is always the same. I will never buy another Fulton Umbrella. I was going to buy some as gifts this year due to liking the design but the quality is awful and the customer care even worse - avoid!

Don't expect Next Day Delivery

I ordered an umbrella 🌂 directly with Fulton for a funeral as they promised next day delivery, Fulton did their part by providing it to the courier. They use DPD who recieved it and then sent me an email the morning of expected delivery saying there will be a delay of 24 hours. Unless you can guarantee next day delivery this shouldn't be stated on the website.

Substandard product and customer service

I bought a Fulton wind resistant minilite approximately 8-12 months ago. I am careful using umbrellas in high winds so the first time that it inverted in the wind was two weeks ago. It broke - first time.
Rather than trouble the local retailer, whose service was not the problem, I went direct to Fulton, whose product is the problem.
I have been told by Kiran that they don't offer a repair service and to go to the retailer. No concern, no apology, no offer to help.
I realise that the 'emergency umbrella' that I am using is a Fulton that we bought for my mother in the late 70's - how things change! I will be avoiding the brand from now on.

Poor quality and poor customer service

I purchased a Fulton umbrella last December and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, less than a year after using it (and it wasn't even heavily used), one of the ribs on the umbrella snapped unexpectedly upon opening it. I contacted customer service about this to see if there was anything they could do. I then had back and forth emails with Kiran for over a week and she wouldn't give me an answer on whether it could be replaced or not which is all I wanted to know. I repeatedly asked this question and all she would do is skirt around it and ask more questions without giving a direct response which in the end I got fed up with. I felt she was wasting my time by not giving an answer. Fulton clearly don't replace umbrellas even when the quality is poor and snaps easily! But they won't just tell you this outright. The final straw for me was receiving a final email from Kiran telling me that she'd asked to arrange a call because she has arthritis. She did ask to arrange a call, but did not mention her arthritis in the initial email. I didn't feel a call was necessary as my question was easily answered over email, and I felt her final email stating this was trying to make me feel bad just because I gave her bad feedback on the slowness or her responses and taking over a week only to not answer my question.

Fragile umbrella frame

was recommended but the quality is concerning, bought in june, only lasted for 2 month, didn't use heavily, the frame where it connects the joints & hold the cover of the umbrella snapped easily.

asked the customer service, replied around 1-2 weeks, they said no repair or anything. only solution is buy a new one, with discounts if signing up to their newsletter.

Very Poorly Made Products

Purchased an umbrella in February 2025; it broke 5 months later. Contacted the company. No response. I definitely do not recommend Fulton's products. They used to be good (I owed one in the past, but lost it). Nowadays they are very poorly made just do not last.

What were they thinking?

This was my second umbrella from Fulton and was extremely satisfied with the first one. In terms of product quality it’s up there. However the model (L449 Stowaway Black Umbrella) has a major potentially dangerous flaw. When folding it back, it’s easy to hurt your finger on the runner as a 2 tiny twisted pieces of metal stick out right above the runner. And as I was trying to fold the umbrella my index got slashed, so painful and inconvenient. Finger still hurt typing this. I returned the umbrella and got another one from Fulton without this issue

We have a Fulton umbrella and up until now have been happy with it. It has only been used a few times.

After probably half a dozen uses the rubber end tip fell off and has been lost.

I purchased this from a local independent store that was some 300 miles from my home address.

On contacting customer support I have been met with ‘We are unable to help due to our contract with the retailers’ what an absolute load of BS.

The end tip probably costs a few pence and I am sure they should have these around alternatively honour the warranty and replace these.

A lot can be connected about the quality of customer service and its products/ company ethos. Just look at Dyson, Joseph Joseph, Ninja, burgon and ball all of which are very responsive with customer faults regardless of where the item was purchased. As such they keep returning customers whereas you have lost one customer here.

I suggest save your money and buy a different brand.

Brilliant.
I'm genuinely struggling to understand the negative reviews especially about the customer service.

I've had a fair few fulton umbrellas the years and they've all been good. Especially the aerolite, you can fit it in a large pocket and it's so lightweight it's almost unbelievable.

I had a minor fault with one of the umbrellas I purchased recently, sent an email to customer service with a picture of the fault and I had a return label sent to me. Two days later I had the replacement delivered.
Kiran from customer support dealt with the return process and should be commended for his efficiency, thank you.

Fulton ignore customer emails

I contacted Fulton a few weeks ago, with an enquiry about a faulty umbrella. They haven't bothered to reply - this company is only interested in your money, not whether you're happy with their products.

We have been trying to place an umbrella order for 8 months and they never respond to emails or phone calls.
We ordered a sample of 1 umbrella in November 2023 and we still do not know if it has been shipped to us and it is now almost 6 months on.

Poor quality

Had an amazing sturdy umbrella from Fulton which I sadly lost! I bought a new one at £16 which popped up on third use and broke (arm snapped). I assumed it was faulty and contacted Fulton. A few weeks later they asked me to send in pictures. I did and never heard again. I bought another Fulton umbrella at £30, based on the strength of my first one. This broke on third use in rain/ wind. I think the quality is poor and they are very overpriced! Customer service not great either. Would not buy another one.
