Hi Abdul,
I am genuinely so sorry. This is the first time I have read your review in full, and I'm absolutely gutted by the way this has turned out for you.
Unfortunately, this situation arose after our regular animal courier temporarily paused their service. That led us to use another authorised courier whom we knew, but had not previously used on anything like this scale. Sadly, we were badly let down.
We will not be using that courier again and are now having to pursue the matter formally in an attempt to recover a number of frogs that were handed over to them. My greatest hope is that those frogs are alive, well and being cared for somewhere, rather than that any misfortune has befallen them.
However, none of that negates the experience you have had, Abdul. It isn't an excuse for the poor communication, the uncertainty, or the fact that you were left chasing me for answers after putting your trust in us.
You also gave me every opportunity to resolve things, including offering to drive to Nottingham yourself to collect the frogs. Looking back, I genuinely wish I had simply taken you up on that offer.
As a direct result of what has happened, we have now paused ALL new live-animal delivery orders. I am simply not prepared to take somebody's money for an animal when I cannot personally be confident that the courier will deliver it safely and when promised.
Customers are still very welcome to collect frogs directly from us in Nottingham, where the entire process remains within our control. Live-animal deliveries will only resume when our regular trusted courier is operating normally again.
In addition, we have applied for our own Type 1 transporter authorisation and are working towards handling the transportation of our own frogs ourselves. The aim is to give us full control from beginning to end — no ambiguity, no waiting for third-party updates and no customers wondering where their animals are. When I say I'm coming on a particular day, I want the responsibility for making that happen to sit with me.
Of course, none of those changes are any consolation to you or to the other customers affected by what has happened. Ultimately, you were excited about these frogs, prepared an enclosure for them, and quite reasonably expected us to deliver what we had agreed.
Some of what happened was outside our control, but how we respond to it absolutely is our responsibility.
Please accept my unreserved apologies, Abdul. I am truly sorry that we let you down.
Kind regards,
Tony
