Hi,

I have got the Carer control working. It wasn’t until I looked down and noticed that the motor levers were in the free-wheel mode that I felt like a nincompoop. As soon as I switched the motors into drive, the Carer control worked. Now my wife can move me about or just the chair. Debbie, my wife, does so much for me. We have just got back from a holiday, and I started to notice that Debbie was fetching and carrying for us too much, and I am afraid that it began to get to me. Thank you for designing a wheelchair that makes it easier for my wife to control. My disability has come on so quickly that my doctors have conducted test after test, and now I am waiting to see a neurologist. This is my second electrical wheelchair; your customer service is exemplary and second to none, and I recommend anyone to purchase from you. You may, if you wish, publish this email as I mean every word.

Ordered Compact Ultra Lightweight Electric Wheelchair/Powerchair 20kg on Sunday arrived on Tuesday brilliant delivery,looks more expensive than it was ,charged battery ,very fast ,I am well impressed ,it will make my life a lot easier ,as it’s for my husband ,easy to fold and pick up

A good product (NSDS-01 powerchair) at a great price. Prompt delivery, both packages arriving on the next day (batteries and chair are sent separately).
The chair was bought for my wife as an addition to her mobility scooter and to allow us to take it on flights for holidays. Whilst each individual battery is sized for airline travel, the IATA rules are a bit ambiguous regarding a spare. We were able to travel with TUI with both batteries to Spain.
Battery range was between 6 and 7 miles per battery. The return to the hotel was up a long hill but there was no drop off in power output, even down to 1 green light (of 4). We managed about 12 miles a day for 2 weeks with no issues, and the seat was comfy.
Recharge from the warning power light is about 6 hours. Batteries are easy to remove and insert, and having 2 you can pop one on charge whilst using the other.
Whilst the chair has suspension the rear is transversely rigid. On uneven surfaces if one wheel drops into a depression then the weight transfer means one of the drive wheels can lift so you end up with no drive at one side.
The chair folds really easily, but is let down by having no latch to lock it in the folded state and starts to unfold when being picked up by the seat, requiring you to hold it folded with one hand when lifting it. I used a belt to hold the seat back to the bar below the footrest before handing it to the airline staff and that did the trick.
The joystick and power controls are intuitive and easy to use. The controls can be removed for airline transit and placed in the under seat bag to ensure it's protected during handling and placing in a hold. Remember to put it in the bag before you fold the chair.
I found it a pain, and time consuming dealing with "Free to Be" via emails for queries not covered by their website. What would have been a 5 minute call and then an order turned into 2-3 days of back and forth.

The overall service from order to delivery was perfect and on time (24hr) the wheelchair was so easy and light to use as shown with no major construction required ...just perfect.The chair is robust and well made with care and attention to the smallest of details without the high cost you would find with other companies I would recommend this company to all,trustworthy,honest and reliable One of the best .

In reply to "Free To Be" at no time did I say I bought the chair from you directly but it was supplied by you as it has your logos on it, and you have accepted it's from you via or emails . Your latest model NSDS-05 "may" have electromagnetic brakes and a hand brake but my model (NSDS-05) does not! May be you saw the problem and have revamped the design.
To anyone who wants to buy an electric wheelchair from "Free To Be" make sure it stops immediately on a slope for your own or loved ones safety. Look for the manufactures name and a CE logo, not just the suppliers name.
I am still waiting for my refund from an item I returned but because I have placed a neg review, "Free To Be" Emailed me to say " they won't be offering me any further services"
My advice, look elsewhere, go to a shop, then you know you'll see the dealer face to face and will have a follow on service.

TERRRRRRRIBLE customer service. I had one of the rudest emails accusing me of phishing! After sending them a hyperlink to their website, I asked them to know more about a wheelchair to purchase. I had sent a request the day before on thier contact area on the website and no one got back, so I sent an email. I was SHOCKED at how they accused me and said they woudl block me. I run my own business and have a legit Google account email. I was ready to buy something, but after the TERRIBLE lack/rude communication, I am now writing a review so others do not have to deal with this company, as I am questioning their ethics and authority. I will be shopping around for a more reputable company with a track record of excellent customer care.

The wheelchair I bought was sturdy, had suspension and arrived well packaged. Looked on various sites but they were more expensive. I have used this chair on a daily basis with no problems since I bought it a couple of months.
Would definitely recommend in fact I do to others who like it.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. They advertise Ultra Lightweight Wheelchairs and when they arrive they are very heavy. I ordered one for my elderly mother and when I tried to return it I cannot get any response what so ever.

Absolutely brilliant service and delivery was super fast mailed Simon with the relevant information that was required 10/10 I’m in customer service myself so know how hard it is to keep customers happy would highly recommend this company

Superb customer service both before and after placing an order. Helpful staff who pointed me in the right direction for my needs, giving a summary of comparisons between different models plus direct links to the items for further detail and photos. Swift cancellation of my order (at my request due to not realising it was a back order and therefore couldn’t be delivered within my tight timescale) and immediate refund processed and received back on my card within minutes.
Sorry not to have proceeded with the purchase as their customer service is second to none. I would not hesitate to purchase from this company in future based on my dealings with them to date.

It was last year but the company has asked me to review my review as the first one was not very complimentary. I thought I had after the problems were resolved, but I will add this. My electric wheelchair had a defective power cable and was unusable. Initially I had great difficulty contacting the firm and was given the run around. Then my purchase was just over the warranty date. I offered to pay for a replacement part. Then their attitude changed as if they thought originally I was trying some scam and they accepted I was genuine. Their agent said that as a matter of courtesy after the hassle that they would send me a replacement part free. Around a fortnight later I received the replacement charging in the post and have had no more problems. I did issue a thank you addition to the original review. I hope this long winded new review is ok for you.

I ordered it on the Sunday and it was here on the Tuesday as advised.
Everything was in the box and easy to put together.
Product is great, large wheelchair for barriactric people.
Looking forward till I take her out.
I can't wait to take it out and give it a spin.

Cheap & heavy. Not practical for my mums needs but my mum is 84 and saw it online and thought thats cheap.
It was cheap for a good reason.
Tried contacting them to send it back and that proved a dead end so gave it way to a charity.
Apparenty imported by a properties company in Hull who never answer their phone.

I bought a wheelchair from this company in June and the footrest broke on it. I reached out to them and they sent me a replacement immediately with no quibbles. Recently I bought two extra batteries from them and they arrived within 48 hours, They answer emails within an hour normally and are really helpful. Couldn't recommend them more.

Wonderful help, and service! Simon was so very helpful, ordered on the Tuesday evening, and my wonderful chair was delivered by the Friday! Super sturdy chair and very comfortable! Excellent value for money too!
