Promising start of Business environment.

Very disappointing experience

I am very disappointed with this site. After receiving a large sum of money from my wife, I began researching franchise opportunities and found a CBD franchise advertised here. At the time, it sounded like an excellent package – radio station promotion, a large quantity of flyers, and a substantial amount of stock for the investment.

I initially signed up as a webmaster, which seemed reasonable. I invested and was in regular contact with the CEO of the franchise, who came across as friendly, supportive, and genuinely interested in helping me succeed. In passing, I mentioned that I was busy clearing my wife’s father’s house after his recent passing and thought nothing more of it.

A few days later, I received a call encouraging me to invest further as a regional director – something that had already been pushed at the start. After continued persistence, I agreed and signed the contract, as there was strong pressure to do so. From that point onwards, the situation changed significantly.

Communication became hostile and critical. After just one week, I requested that the additional money be returned so I could revert to the original agreement. This was refused, with the explanation that it could be seen as money laundering. From then on, things deteriorated further.

I was sent out-of-date vape juices and other products that are not on the approved CBD list and are therefore illegal to sell in England. I also only received half of the promised flyers, with excuses given about distribution. There were repeated excuses regarding radio budgets, market tents, second-hand signage, and ongoing passive-aggressive conversations, blame shifting, and incorrect lab reports. As a result, Viva Wallet and other providers would not supply a payment gateway, meaning no online sales were possible. The list of issues goes on.

Given the seriousness of investing in a franchise, I would have expected Franchise Local to properly vet the franchises they advertise. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to be very careful and carry out extensive independent research before investing in any franchise found on this site.
