Just passed my driving test! A huge thank you to my instructor Zahid for his dedication and genuine commitment to helping me pass. He is professional, calm, friendly, and really knows how to build confidence and driving skills. I feel completely different as a driver compared to when I started. Highly recommended!

Steer clear of Ravi Somarajan - Where do i start, Unprofessional - Use of mobile device during lession, lack of instructions, how he spoke of his clients was pretty disgusting. I get the impression he's just one of the money grabbing instructors,i would avoid at all costs. He even took personal calls on our lessons, which i think is rather disgusting. I will also be submitting a complaint to the DVLA.

I cannot recommend Jon at Formula Jon Driving School highly enough.

I came to Jon just a week and a half before my driving test after having a difficult experience with a previous instructor. From the very beginning, he was honest, professional, and incredibly supportive. He was really clear with me about where I was in my driving journey, what needed improving, and what we would need to focus on before my test. His calm and straightforward approach immediately put me at ease and gave me confidence that I was in good hands.

After watching me drive, he reassured me that I had the ability to pass and clearly explained the areas that needed tidying up. He then went above and beyond to fit me in whenever he had availability, making sure I got as much preparation as possible in the short time we had.

Jon is calm, patient, approachable, and genuinely funny. He explains things clearly and uses humour to make learning enjoyable, memorable, and far less stressful. Every lesson felt relaxed, productive, and encouraging. Most importantly for me, he never raised his voice or made me feel uncomfortable. As someone who struggles with anxiety, having an instructor who remained patient, understanding, and supportive at all times made a huge difference to both my confidence and my driving.

Today, I passed my manual driving test at Redhill Aerodrome Test Centre with only two minors, something I genuinely did not think would be possible before I started lessons with Jon. The progress I made in such a short space of time was incredible, and that is a testament to his skill, experience, and dedication as an instructor.

I am so grateful for all of his help, support, patience, and encouragement. Not only did he help me pass my test, but he helped me believe in my own ability as a driver. After my previous experience, that meant more than I can put into words.

If you’re looking for an instructor who is knowledgeable, honest, patient, understanding, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed, I would wholeheartedly recommend Jon and Formula Jon Driving School. My experience with formula jon driving school was absolutely amazing. Jon was a 10/10 driving instructor who talked me through things but always found time to have a laugh. Tina is an amazing instructor. I failed my driving test twice with different instructors but she got me over the finish line. Her expertise and knowledge is out of this world. I understand driving so much better because of her, whereas previously I had so many gaps in my knowledge. She picks up every details and leaves no room for failure. She believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you so much Tina! You are the instructor everyone needs.

Jon is a legend, he is professional whilst also making a relaxed environment where you can have a laugh. He is very thorough in his teaching and makes you feel prepared for every scenario come test day. Jon is very helpful with calming test day nerves and is encouraging, supportive as well as showing you that failing isn’t the end of the world.

Thanks to Jon I passed first time at Redhill with 6 minors and am now hunting for my first car!

I’m so pleased to say that I passed first time with Tina’s help from Formula Jon’s Driving School. Tina has a no nonsense attitude which I loved. She’s dedicated and passionate about getting her pupils across the finish line to pass. While at first I found driving intimidating Tina helped me relax and took each lesson step by step building my confidence as we went. I also feel that the prices are fair and scheduling lessons were easy and flexible. I would highly recommend this driving school to any new learners.

After failing my first driving test almost a year ago with another instructor (not from Jon Formula), I went back to Jon.

I first contacted Jon before COVID, but the country went into lock down one day before our scheduled assessment session. Then for two years I think he's been busy clearing up backlogs from his pupils - I'd been keeping asking him regularly ever since, as the feel of him via speaking over the phone has always been good.

I have then contacted a few other schools/instructors, never went ahead with any of them because they were awful/rude/chaotic even from contacting phase. Two months before my first test, Jon was not available and neither are any other manual instructors that work with him. So I went with a completely new instructor i stumbled upon that has availability on the short notice, but failed after having 30 hours with him. Then I thought I'd check with Jon again, he himself was not available but recommended Ravi who works with him.

Ravi has been brilliant - always chilled, laid back and explain things. Always punctual (more than punctual - he's often earlier than expcted 😃) and always follow up with lesson credits after esch lesson. The driving vibe he's set up is so relaxing that it really contributes a lot to my feeling relaxed, confident and comfortable driving and dealing with different situations, esp. errors/faults I'd made in my first test. Ofc I passed (with 4 minors), but what I wanted to sayd is he doesn't just teach for the sake of passing the test; rather it's safe driving.

The only small suggestion is maybe sometimes advise on *how* to do certain things on top of *what* you need to do. I know reference point can be a bit unreliable, but sometimes I feel like I know what I should do, but a bit unsure how I should do it.

I will definitely come back for motorway/carriageway sessions when I get more driving (still getting used to my own car!).

I had a great experience learning to drive with Formula Jon Driving School in Carshalton. Jon is a calm, patient and supportive driving instructor who really helped build my confidence. His manual driving lessons were well structured and easy to follow, and I passed my test first time. I’d highly recommend Formula Jon Driving School to anyone learning to drive in Carshalton!

I had a few manual refresher driving lessons with Formula Jon Driving School after moving to Reigate from London. I originally passed my test three years ago but didn't really drive much, and I wanted to get back behind the wheel now I'm living in Reigate. He really helped me to feel comfortable behind the wheel again, gain confidence and develop my skills in all areas of driving - whatever I was worried or nervous about, Jon would address it straight away and give me lots of practice until I felt comfortable and confident. The difference between my driving in the first lesson I had with him and the last lesson I had with him, is astounding. It is clear he is a knowledgeable and experienced driving instructor, and he makes you feel really comfortable in the lessons. Thank you Jon, for helping me to get back on the road!

Just passed my Driving test today on my first try. I’ve had a 2 hour lesson with my instructor Ravi every week for the past 8 months and he’s been nothing but kind, patient and helpful to me. Without him I wouldn’t be where I am today and I’m ever so happy with the lessons Formula Jon provided for me
