Dettagli del prodotto

‘To nourish fiction with fact, to spice the workings of a thriller plot with playful asides about our new Nazi masters makes – says I – for a deeply satisfying read.’
  1. Graham Hurley, from his introduction
1960s Germany. Adolf Hitler holds firmly onto power and the Nazi regime has survived. As Hitler’s 75th birthday approaches, detective Xavier March uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to derail the regime once and for all…A multi-million bestseller, Fatherland was Robert Harris’s first foray into fiction. Filled with intense tension and bold storytelling, his alternative history is expertly captured by award-winning artist Robert Carter, who provides a series of atmospheric illustrations and a powerful binding and slipcase design. British crime novelist Graham Hurley praises both the author’s literary talent and the story’s cultural significance in his introduction to the special Folio edition.

Have yet to read this book but have heard good things about it. The author Robert Harris asks the big question 'What if' & you will then imagine life in Britain under the 3rd Reich.

I went with Fatherland since I wanted to pair it with Man in the High Castle for my readings. The first slipcase, not the book, was unfortunately damaged with minor dents. I’m rather pleased that customer service was willing to go above and beyond to redeliver a perfect book. All I knew about Fatherland was from a classic movie about an inspector going to Germania (the modern-day city of Berlin) to conduct some sort of investigation.
